We will abandon it ALL for the sake of the cross, yet, some then abandon 'the faith.'

I cannot debate the scriptures as many of you do.
I can only wtness to what has brought His presance, faith fullflled.
Faith is , humility and wlling to follow and set aside even those things you think you need, or is better.
Willing to reliece everything that one is asked, by Jesus.
Even sometimes ones own understanding, or what one believes is what they have gained in faith.
For in Jesus, it is neither gain nor loss, but presant, in His Spirt.
No matter what the world thinks, or sees, for all that is sought is to grow in His Spirit.
In Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh.
When one refuses, then emptyness and confuson take hold, even sorrow.
Because refusal is a step back to flesh.
For Jesus is trully the way, the truth and the light!
It is in faith we see, walk and work, Jesus brings the way, all needed!

A scripture that keeps me humble.
Do not love me just in word, but in deed and truth as well!

Phil3:7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Abider, you speak so Truthfully now. For awhile there I reallly thought you had a squirrel sized cranium, and, I guess that describes your brain, too, oh, just kidding, right. And, oh, c'Mon, take a joke, but, yeah, like jimdig, a few others (where's Tribers, anyway :D) that doctrinallly don't get it like I do (just saying, not judging) , I may not like a lot of the stuff you say from that squirrel brain of yours but I still Love you, :). But don't think I'm inviting one of you over for dinner anytime soon 'D and, I forget what now but I felt warmth from He in me when I read one of your last posts. Made me think. Is there really more than a 'flying squirrel' in that guy, Lord? And, guess what my answer was, squirrely (hey, I got a new nic for you! Sweet :) ) 'Yes.' :)

Amen Abiding, may we all seek this with a passion of faith in Jesus!

Well said GreenNnice. Just wanted to add that in as much as there's rich truth in that scripture, there's equal certainty in the prophecies made concerning the multitude that will spend eternity with our Lord " After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands" Rev 7:9...in fact preparations have been made..."In my Father's house are many mansions: IF IT WERE NOT SO, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:2
Jesus even assures us...not to say we should sit back and relax, neither am I encouraging responses like, " well it's all been predestined so should I care if i have a chance?"..it's our faith in Jesus that saves us!"Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls." Peter 1:9.
This i brought up to urge us on and encourage us..knowing this truth is actually exciting, encouraging..especially anyone who's on the verge of walking away..yes the race is not easy but by the Grace of God we are able to run it.

" Indeed, we have tried to eliminate the concept of suffering from our theology because it is a most uncomfortable and difficult-to-explain reality. But it is time to bring back the concept of suffering into your theology. The teachings on faith, healing, prosperity and long life are the mainstay of a large part of the church. But it's time to include suffering in these faith teachings. If we fail to add suffering into the good news sections of our doctrines, we will always be incomplete and often feel defeated and confused in our Christian journey....God wants you to experience suffering because it makes you perfect. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Heb 2:10" from Loosing, Sacrificing, Suffering, Dying..Clearly, sacrifice and suffering which go hand-in-hand "is one" out of many reasons Christians turn to lose hope...our awareness of this helps us by the Grace of God to get through...Just a word of encouragement for all of us :)

^ Excellent reiteration, God bless you episc . We have been given grace, but to abuse that grace and not trust God's words post John 3:16 that simply say we are saved in 'them,' seems very foolish to me. Beyond foolish, 'fruitless a good word, for we must follow Him as He leads us, worshipping every step of the way , to constantly build up our spirit in His Truth as we worship in Spirit and in Truth :)

Excellent verse choices, great connective meaning, I liked your post completely. Perfectly said, you are perfectly led, episko :)

Have you ever noticed how God dressed adam and eve when they were put out of the garden of eden in animal skin?
And those who come to God into eternity, will be dressed in white robes?
Both times God cloths us, into the world , dressed in flesh.
Into His kindom, robes of white.
Its strikes me that we are naked before Him, we bring nothing.
Where ever we go.
All is provided by God! :)

You have to make a willful acknowlegement of Christ as the risen Saviour to be 'saved'. It would take an equally willful denial of the same to then lose (more like abandon) your salvation. That is the difference between backsliding and apostacy; backsliding you still acknowlege but go your own way, apostacy you willfully say it's all lies. So yes, they may have been one of us here and now. But they never were on the other side.

Abandon the faith of a life in Christ after having accepted Him?

I will not ever do that to you, Lord !!!

Caw.
Caw.
Caw.

Some will do things they don't want to do, lured away by THEIR lusts of desire, abandoning their Master's care, leaving His hand. :(

$cripture to back this claim is rich in Truth...

From Jesus words in Luke 8, telling the parable of the sower: ” They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. ”

And 1 Timothy 4:1 is wrought with tne reality of some departing the precious, life God's set in place by His plan (Jer. 29:11) for them:

King James Bible ”Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”

=========_========

Christ peeps, don't abandon the faith of Jesus Christ, in so believing God's put so much FAITH in you, do not let it depart from the bowels of your body, your hope rests in His having cleansed you by His blood innocenntly shed for sinful you and I. Don't let it. Stay with Hope, His is great, DON't abandon His Hope for Satan's illusionary gain that will well to TASTE beautiful for all of a few seconds as the Lord will THEN let you fall in your folly and life choice which will be to go back to your own vomit. Ick!! Now why would you EVER want to go back to what God deserted you from with so much peace of the everafter in the first place. Why?? God gives you so much beauty of presence when you accept His presence, miladies and gents, do not go to the ugly filth that Satan silvery 'plates' the fine silver that underneath is pure worthless steel and by then it's too late you are dead , Satan stealed you away. :(

There is NOTHING that can seperate you from Christ except one person, you :(

So c'mon, let'$ not just get happy, let's experiende real joy that comes from a faith that unequivocally, completely, wholly, follows Him :)
GreenNnice,
Do you leave the comfort of your armchair to serve with a body of believers (a church), for better or for worse?
Or do you get your food from the internet and televangelists?
