You will see that going to heaven depends on this relationship!
So you really do not believe that Jesus Christ is able to save your from your sins. You hold to the heresy that you must contribute to the finished work of Christ in order to obtain heaven. By taking this position you deny the grace of God through making grace dependent upon your help or as you describe it cooperation.

Your understanding of salvation is not consistent with what the bible teaches. You are forcing salvation to be dependent upon sanctification and not grace.

I remember a while back you personally telling me you didn't believe in hypergrace.....& now you do? Don't even bother to say these two aren't the same.
Perhaps someday you will show us how you define grace. Then you may draw a distinction between grace and hyper-grace hopefully without naming any names of the proponents of the latter.

Because the words mean different things, I could agree Christs love empowers us
to do good works.

The problem is "Grace" here is not the christian meaning or good works.

So this is disguised language, which looks good to the reader but is not what
the writer meant.

It is why I cannot agree, because I do not know what they actually mean,
and what I have understood, it is not a christian concept.
the thing is also, when you do finally understand what they say, and give clear scripture that refutes it. then : thats not what were saying" like a smokescreen. Obedience to Jesus, is not what "saves" we obey Jesus because He said to, and then He died to forgive our lives of sin beforehand. obeying the Lord will never be wrong, and if someone is born again, that will be the passion of thier Heart, to obey the Lord Jesus Christ who suffered and died in order to Bring us into the obedience that saves. its not that we obey, then Jesus saves us, its that we grasp we are lost without Him, and our faith IS expressed through faithfulness to the Lord. do we make mistakes sometimes, yeah, but There is forgiveness in his teachings for that. we dont accept the rule " well never stop sinning" we embrace " we must repent of sin, and God has Given us that power through the mnistry of Jesus that is spirit. our forgiveness from the Law is His death, our Life is Him and everything He did, said, and provided for us. repentance will never come, until we accept that it is a commandment to all christians. from that point, Faith will do its work and bring repentance, but all our effort is to be applied to Jesus and the true Gospel. good works cant save the Law proves that, but to be saved and continue as a sinner is not possible.

We (including our flesh) are involved in our salvation.
Perhaps this is the MAIN reason for God giving us free will.
I'm not sure if it's the main reason.

Jesus talks a lot about obedience.
I talk a lot about our co-operation.
Some co-operation is involved.

We are NOT called to receive a spot of saving faith,
due to God's free gift of grace (unmerited favor),
believing/trusting the Gospel (due to that spot),
and then living in habitual unrepentant sin!

Dozens of NT warnings say that won't cut it.
The sinning removes the righteousness you once had.

Better let Jesus know His blood wasn;t good enough

better let the Holy Spirit know He doesn't seal us

Better let God know that Jesus wasn't worth as much as He thought

Good thing you are here to set God straight

Consider you're living in cave somewhere.

I'm not talking about you, and those who trying hard to practice righteousness.

TRY to understand that there are multitudes of believers in churches
who are practicing habitual unrepentant sin.

Do you understand?

Maybe not ... believe me, women have a real hard time with this.
You do not represent everyone. Hello.
You probably got mad when you were a kid if you still get mad that's habitual sin

You won't give it up

ever doubt God over the years? whoooopsy habitual

Do you understand ?

2 corinthians 5:9-10 "So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."

1 timothy 4:10 "That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe."

2 peter 3:14 "So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him."

1 corinthaisn 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

colossians 3:5-8 "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.b 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now YOU MUST RID YOURSELVES of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. "

where do you see anything saying that to put all your effort into obeying God, is denying His work for us? the very One who suffered and died for us, COMMANDS us to repent and obey Him. I understand why folks dont want to repent, but with God there is no option. Sin is death, those who serve Sin will die, those who repent of thier sin, and follow Jesus will Live. since you are so convinced of what you are saying, where is that teaching in the Bible? <<< this is what not a single one of you can do, show your opinion of things in the scriptures. there are many many teachings clearly saying you must repent of sin. where are the ones sayoing thats a bad idea or not rewuired? where is " just rest, dont work for God or your denying Him? it doesnt exist if your not in a joseph prince study Guide.

Peter....acts 3:19-23 ":Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. 21Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. 22For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. 23Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people."

Paul.... acts 20:20-21 "You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. 21I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that THEY MUST turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus."

Acts 26:20 "First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by THIER DEEDS. "

Romans 6:1-2 "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2BY NO MEANS! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?"

romans 2:4-10 "Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

5But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”a 7To those who by persistence in DOING GOOD seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8But for those who are self-seeking and who REJECT THE TRUTH and FOLLOW EVIL, there will be wrath and anger. 9There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11For God does not show favoritism."

galatians 6:7-9 "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what HE SOWS . 8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will REAP DESTRUCTION; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest IF we do not give up."

John....1 john 3:7-10 "Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister."

Do not be decieved, grace doesnt mean that your saved no matter what you do. but ill look forward to the teaching from the Bible that says, repentance from sin, and obedience to Jesus Christ is irrelevant to salvation because of " grace"

titus 2:11-15 "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good."

1 peter 2:24 " for He himself bore our sin, in His body on the tree SO THAT we might die to sins and Live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been Healed."

2 peter 3:16 "He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction."

its easy to distort Paul as saying what you guys see, but it is an absolute distortion and will destroy anyone who holds to the deception that what you actually do after acceopting Jesus Loving sacrifice and empowerment to overcome sin, doesnt matter anymore because Jesus was sinless and died on your behalf, that infact will bring more wrath than those who sinned under Law. then they were accountable for the blood of bulls and Goats, now though, we are accountable for Jesus Blood whom God Loves Most. the Most precious thing in existance paid for our redemption, and we are commanded to Live Lives that HONOR the Life and death of Jesus Christ.

hebrews 2:1-4 "We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will."

a far cry from the distortion of gog.

The reminds me of a conversation with a schizophrenic. We would repeatedly get to
the same concepts, and they would come to the same conclusions no matter what
was said, because the facts did not matter, only that the conclusion did not upset
them, and made them look good.

The bible says what it says. You either accept or reject it.

We are called to walk righteously, to do good, to be pure, holy, blameless.

The only way to oppose this is to reject the words of Paul etc.

In the past many defended sinful behaviour and not confronting it in a church
context. It was a private matter between God and the believer.

So leaders can be in immoral relationships, it is not for us to criticise.

Oddly though when it comes to marriage, people stay true. Stuff the 10 commandments,
but marriage we cannot dishonour. But then this just demonstrates none of these people
know what they are talking about and it is really just one big joke to them.

1 timothy 4: 3-4 "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths"...<<< almost 2000 years ago this was written

Your love for him is as filthy as a rag.
Your cooperation doesn't add to the Cross.

Matthew 7 (NLT):

21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.
22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name
and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’
23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ ”

Mark 9:47 -- entering the kingdom of Heaven/God is the opposite of being cast into hell.
Matthew 25:34-46 -- Inheriting the kingdom is for the righteous who gain eternal life.
So, the bottom line is: entering the kingdom of Heaven/God is like gaining eternal life.

People on Christian forums usually only see the Pentecostal part of the above.
But, this whole teaching is about DOING GOD’s WILL.
It stands against people who “practice lawlessness” (NKJV) -- who break God’s laws!
To do God’s will, one needs to be practicing righteousness, not lawlessness!
This is my favorite NT verse about practicing righteousness:
“In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:
whoever does NOT practice righteousness is NOT of God” (1 John 3:10, NKJV)

So, how about DOING GOD’s WILL … and stop breaking God’s laws!

“God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from sexual sin.
Then each of you will control his own body – and live in holiness and honor –
not in lustful passion like the pagans do who do not know God and his ways.
… God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives. Therefore, anyone
who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human teaching, but is
rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.” (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8, NLT)

“Patient endurance(*) is what you need now, so that you will continue to do
God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” (Hebrews 10:36, NLT)
(*) endurance in everything: belief-faith-trust-obedience

“And the world is passing away, and the lust of it;
but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:17, NKJV)

The amazing thing is … because the Scriptures are all inspired by God …
ALL commands and instructions given to believers are about doing the will of God.

Matthew 7 (NLT):
24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise,
like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds
beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.
26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish,
like a person who builds a house on sand.
27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house,
it will collapse with a might crash.”

As with all of God’s warnings, many people insist they must be referring to rewards.
But, these 4 verses are about LOSING SALVATION.
Yes, when a believer’s wonderful spiritual house of salvation
(attained through God’s incredible free gift of faith through grace)
collapses with a mighty crash, it is not referring to losing some great reward(s)!

Yes, if you are NOT following Jesus’ teaching, you are sinning.
If you are NOT sincerely repenting of your sins, they are NOT being washed away.
This is what all of the many dire warnings in the NT are all about …
sin results in eternal death.

So, be sure that your continuing sins are continuously being
confessed and covered over by Jesus’ precious blood (1 John 1:7-9).

Your sincere repentance will display that your heart attitude is correct and pleasing to God.
Obeying GOD, because you Love him = good plan.

Obeying GOD, to earn all or some of your Salvation = BAD THEOLOGY.

John 14:15 (HCSB)

[SUP]15 [/SUP] If you love Me, you will keep My commands.

Obedience is a natural by-product of LOVING HIM, and it is produced by GOD's Love that was poured into your heart the moment you were saved.

Romans 5:5 (HCSB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] This hope will not disappoint ⌊us⌋, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

repentance, confession, Faith => Christ => Love, transformation, righteous behaviour

In my experience if you can talk theology you are not trying to work your way to
heaven. I have met people who grasped the idea of being good, and that is what
a christian was, but that is where it stopped. I have not yet met anyone here like
that though they do exist, they normally avoid forums like this.

So when people talk behaviour and righteousness, it is normally because it matters
to them deeply.

So please be gracious, and ask why. It is certainly dishonouring to assume they do
not know Christ, or are lying and evil, or somehow you are so much better than them
and they are just so deluded.

Jesus was righteous and we walk in His footsteps. Now think how He would come
across on this forum, and He would answer these questions.

There is no magical wand and post cross Jesus's words change. Spiritual realities
are eternal, like Jesus's words. The problem is always our understanding and view
which is why we need to change until all of it speaks to our very souls.

Love overcomes, it changes perspective, it heals our hearts, it sets things right,
it straightens the involved and crooked excuses, and love is just love, purity
and holiness flow from who we are, because we have become children of the
Living God. The eternal has always been closer than you knew, and what often
you pointed at was things from your past and not the Lord of love.

Doing God's will unto salvation - John 6:40 - For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Doing God's will after salvation - 1 Thessalonians 5:12 - Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

This is extremely simple. No need to complicate it.

Galatians 3:2-3
[FONT=&quot]2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Your will, your 'obedience', your 'co-operation', your understanding and your work cannot make you perfect. Only the foolish think so.

It is only by the Spirit that we are perfected and this is by the Work of God.

So what is the arguing and contention? This is simple as well;

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

To be perfect, give up all your wealth and follow Jesus.

If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.
Matt 19:21

And the fallacy of the above logic, is we are made righteous, perfect, pure, blameless
by the blood of Christ. We loose this from defiling sin.

It is our obedience, walking in Jesus's ways that stops defilement, communion with the
most high.

So everything is set wrong.

Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
Eph 5:25-27

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
2 Peter 1:3

What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.
Mark 7:20-23

Once made pure and holy we can be defiled by our behaviour.
Oddly both realities are often not faced and not lived, which is a denial of Christs words
and the salvation He has brought us.

It looks like Joseph of Arimathea didn't get the same talking too about "giving away your wealth" as did the rich young ruler who thought he had kept the commandments from his youth but Jesus used the law to show that in fact he had broken the very first commandment about having no other "gods" before the Lord and money was his "god" and idol before the Lord.

Joseph has a rich man and a disciple of Jesus at the very same time. God used this man's wealth to provide for the tomb of Jesus.

Whenever we don't rightly divide the scriptures we come up with man-made thoughts that turns the truth into a religion.

Matthew 27:57 (NASB)
[SUP]57 [/SUP]
When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.

it doesnt matter how you, he, or i define grace...or webster. it matters How Gods word defines Grace.
ie, unmerited favor, Or unearned.

which means, Nothing a person can do to earn it, If it must be earned, it is a reward. a payment, a wage.

ie, It can not be earned by how good we are, Lost by how bad we are. Earned by specific works we do , lost by not doing those works.

Just like paul said in Titus 3:5. Not by works of righteousness we have done, But BY HIS MERCY HE SAVED US....

What you might observe is Jesus mentions in the sermon on the mount we need
to love our enemies like the Father does, to be perfect in this like Him.

Now some love to say this means we must be perfect in everything, which is
impossible because we are not God so many things we cannot do at all, let
alone everything.

When Jesus says following Him is to be perfect, they say he was actually joking.
See the double or triple standard.

If perfection in Gods terms can be achieved their theology would fail, so where
it fits their model, it is God not joking, where it does not fit, God is joking.

When you follow this type of teaching you could dimiss all or nothing of scripture,
it is actually up to you, because it is either a big joke or deadly serious.

But if you really encounter Christ, the reality of holiness impinges on your life.
So you know who has met the Lord and who has not. It is certainly not the
jokers.
