These thoughts SHOULD HAVE been included in YOUR FIRST post here don'tcha think?

Yours is the OSAS view, which many scritptures testify against.
I will concur that if someone stays in the faith of Christ that the OSAS view does apply.
But for individuals who leave believing in love, truth, and justice, the OSAS view would then not apply.

Personally, I read the KJV, and the faith of Christ to me means believing in what Christ believed in. If someone believes in what Christ believed then that person is justified.

Having faith in Christ to me seems to be referencing faith in that Jesus is the Son of God. I do not know how someone is justified by simply having faith in believing Christ is the Son of God. The devils believe as much, but aren't saved.

What does faith in Christ mean to you?

Faith in Jesus Christ means that all things are possible to Him that believes.

matthew 14 : And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? "

this is Faith in action, illustrated for us to grasp. it is not a term or a word, faith comes by the word of Jesus Christ. in this illustration, peter bids Jesus to call him out onto the water, as soon as Jesus says it, he steps out and walks. He understands that if Jesus says it, there is the same power as when God said " Let there be Light....and light shined from nothing because God spoke the word.

Faith is found when you understand the truth of who Jesus Christ is, He is the One and Only annointed to speak the words of God promised for salvation long ago. theres a reason Jesus continuosly makes the clains that God sent Him, and that His words were not His, but the woprds God taught Him and commanded Him to teach the world. when we Know Jesus word is the power of God that spoke things into existance, Faith comes at that point through the Knowledge of the Son of God, and the power of Gods Word that is living and active as it has been from the beginning just as light shined forth because he said it, salvation springs forth because He said it. all we have to do is seek Jesus in the gospel, pray daily and believe the things we learn. this transforms the mind, washes the mind from the stains of sin and sinful thinking.

the gospel through the proscess of belief like Jesus taught the faith ofthe children who just saw Him and had heard and came running. the only way to enter the kingdom is believing the One and Only that God sent from Heaven to earth with His word. the messiah. those words are what quickens or " makes alive" those words are Faith, they are the Christian faith and fittingly, because He is the One who gave His Life to make the way.

faith comes when we make the distinction between Gods Word, and the many distortions of it. you can also, build faith in the wrong things, and it becomes a wall that blocks the right things. what we believe is crucial....thats the very thing that caused the problem, and the solotion is offered in Jesus Christ, simply to believe Him, He knows. prayer for understanding is something God will always answer in abundance. because when we understand right, we will believe right, and when we believe right, we will live right.

the issue was that satan corrupted our thinking, our minds and hearts, Jesus comes woth the knowledge that solves the issue, the truth is the answer for the lie that caused death. Jesus bleeds faith, and speaks faith

faith understands that Gods Word, is Life.

It means receiving eternal life by placing our faith (belief, trust, reliance) in Christ for salvation (Romans 3:22; Ephesians 2:8; Philippians 3:9).

So..... faith in him to you is predestination?
Faith to me is believing in what Christ believed in.
What Christ believe in are love, truth, justice, humility, and more.
I hope to grow in these qualities.

The world on the other hand, seems to be more and more steering away from these attributes.

That is where prayer comes in. Prayers asking for boldness and prayers such as " Into your hands I commit my spirit" (Psalm 31:5) and " In you, oh Lord, I put my trust. Let me never be ashamed" ( Psalm 31:1) and other prayers.
If you believe in the virtues Jesus believed, then the patience required for doing so would be available.
Otherwise, one is just hoping in their unbelieving in the virtues of Christ that they will deny their carnal attributes when their testing come up.
Do you recollect in the bible something about a great falling away from the faith, when the Lord once more shakes the earth (Hebrews 12:26-27)?
This will shakeout all the phony believers in Christs Way, who in fact do not believe in His Way.
They are the man made, not God made.

Hebrews 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

In John 1:12, we read - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

His name refers to all that is true about Him and therefore the totality of His person. To believe on His name implies personal trust, as does faith and not mere mental assent belief.

The word translated believe is from the greek word pisteuō which means "to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), that is, credit; by implication to entrust (especially one’s spiritual well being to Christ).

All genuine believers believe in His name/trust in Jesus for salvation, yet at times may not sufficiently trust in Jesus just to get them through their day or through a difficult situation. As believers, we all need to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Believers are to add to their faith knowledge, self control, godliness, brotherly kindness, love etc.. As we mature in Christ we grow in these qualities.

Faith in Christ means to live life in a truth-filled way. Jesus Christ became the embodiment of Faith. He followed God's will to the letter. In other words, to have faith in Christ is to follow God's will (the Father's will) so we too can be sons and daughters of the Father, and brothers and sisters to the Son.
If you believe in your heart what Christ believed in His heart, then yes we are sons and daughters to the Father who is love (1 John 4:8 & 16), thereby making us brothers and sisters to the Son.

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Faith is also trusting in the Words of the LORD Jesus Christ,, His teachings.. That they are all true and good..
Faith is believing in your heart the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ, which He believed in His heart.

Remember, there will be many who will have thought they believed in Christ to whom the Lord will declare that He (Love), never knew them, thereby indicating they never having known love (Matthew 7:22-23).

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In order to sin less (or not at all) one does not need more faith. You just have to crucify or mortify (put to death) the "flesh" by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Say "No" to Satan and "Yes" to the Holy Spirit. And since love is the fulfilling of the Law, perfect love to God and neighbor will prevent you from sinning.
Scriptures on the other hand indicates that if I had more faith that I would sin less, or not at all.

Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

As to your comments on what others have said about faith, all their responses are perfectly valid. Faith is essentially TOTAL TRUST and TOTAL DEPENDENCE on the living God and the Lord Jesus Christ, which means TOTAL CONFIDENCE in the written Word of God. Saving faith is believing that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh who took upon Himself the sins of the whole world, and died for my personal sins and rose again for my personal justification. And one must believe this WITHOUT THE SHADOW OF A DOUBT (see Acts 8:37).

At the same time, since genuine heartfelt repentance is the opposite side of the "faith coin", so faith also means a TOTAL TURNING AWAY from sins and idols and a total TURNING TO Christ for salvation -- receiving Him as both Lord and Savior.
You are describing outcome due to having TOTAL TRUST and TOTAL DEPENDANCE.
One first needs to have TOTAL FAITH in order to have TOTAL TRUST and TOTAL DEPENDANCE.

Let me ask you a question, and let's see if you can answer honestly.
They who wish to be disciples of Christ, need to hate their lives in this world, including that with their families.
They also need to leave everything behind, carry no purse or script, and have total faith in that the Lord will provide for their needs. (Luke 14:26-27 & 33)
Do you hate your life in this world, and that with your family?
Have you left all the cares of the world, carry no money/mammon, and thereby are singulary minded and not double minded?
Finally then, are you a disciple of Christ, who has TOTAL FAITH and TOTAL TRUST in the Lord?
I know that I do not meet the criteria for being a disciple of Christ who has total faith and total trust in the Lord.
I therefore hope to attain a greater faith than I currently posess.

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

You understand well.
The devil (Satan) corrupts our minds and hearts with other values than those that come from the Lord.

In James 2:19, we see that the demons believe "mental assent" that "there is one God" (James 2:19) but they do not believe/entrust their spiritual well being to Christ; have faith/reliance upon Christ for salvation. In other words, they do not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and are not saved. (Acts 1631)

Their trust and reliance is in Satan, as demonstrated by their rebellion in heaven and continuous evil works.

Very good mailmandan,
I can agree with much of what you state.
The Lords name, Christ refers to believing in all that is true about the Saviour, which shall likewise save us.

Yes the angels that left their first place of habitation are not subject to the gospel, God does not give them His faith to believe .It is only those who do have that treasure in them (not of them) knowing the faith is not of them coming from the imagination of their own heart (dead works of faith offered towards God ) His faith is loosened from heaven as that which is bound on earth . If we would offer His faith working in us to both will and do His good pleasure to the two examples ,Rehab and Abraham then we have already blasphemed the Holy name by which we are called heavenward .

Its his faith that works towards us in us as the proper loosening and binding law.

Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the "foundation of repentance" from dead works, "and" of faith toward God, .......(dead works of faith).

The direction of the faith must not be turned upside down as if loosened from earth bound in heaven.

Correct, the devils only believe/know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God/Love.
The devils do not believe in love which is spiritual, but instead believe in carnal attributes.
The devils left their first post being spiritual, for their carnal desires in people.

Let me ask a similar question: What does it mean to love Jesus?

I know many people who say they love Jesus, but don't even know His teachings. What do they love about Him, then? Just the fact that He died for our sins? This reason is not strong enough -- I think that if we don't love His teachings we don't really love Him.

Note to law keepers and Sabbatarians: Please don't tell me that if we really love Jesus we must keep the law of Moses or the Sabbath.

To love the Son of God/Love, I guess would mean to love Love, and all that love entails (truth, justice, humility, etc.).

It means I can stand before God as a sinless, righteous, and holy adopted son!

We all understand what the final result will be for those who have faith in Christ, but what I am asking is what is it that entails having faith in Christ.

Right! God is love and loving Him (or Jesus) means to love LOVE.
