I have to also say this. :(

I'd love to see Christians act like grown-ups instead of kids. The works thread is one of the worst I've seen. So many ugly comments and slinging mud. Anyone can belittle, call names, make fun and accuse others of things not meant or implied. It's the ugliest thread that I've visited.

We are to love enough to want to help instead of hurt others. Even if a person is wrong, they don't deserve the treatment that some give others who are brothers and sisters in the Lord.

And even if one doesn't think they are a brother or sister in the Lord, where's the love and concern to help them come to know the Lord. Refute what they're saying if they're wrong with scripture instead of throwing names, poking fun at and the like at them. Care for them, love them into the kingdom. Do we want them to go to heaven? Or do we want to see them in hell?

To me, I think the Lord is concerned about our character and how we interact with others. Are we carnal and fleshly, or are we bearing the fruit of the Spirit in our walk and in our speech and in our interactions with others. Is Christ being revealed through what we say and how we act or is it us that they see........the old carnal yucky flesh.
***you are correct, and I believe God is going to start dealing with strife and confusion in the Church more in these upcoming days---we have enough enemies to combat, so fighting our own Army is foolish...

The first question I would ask is whether the BDF actually serves any real beneficial purpose? I've not put it to prayer, but I do wonder.

The problem is that the Kingdom should be within us: eagerness of mind, learning of scripture, respect of spiritual authority, right attitude, gentleness of Spirit, humility, love, and so on are all given and moderated by the Holy Spirit.

If these things are scarce on the forum, all we can do is pray.

Tightening the structure, e.g. You could have three separate forums in my view, futurist, amillenarian and historicist, of which you need to declare yourself an adherent of one, and you only would have read permissions in the other forums, would reduce the backbiting and contention considerably, massively I think, but it would also have consequences No doubt.

I. Spiritual people and carnally minded people shouldn't really mix, because its like oil and water, the spiritual person is constantly trying to grow while the carnally minded one will just go in circles with opinions and try to lead others to do the same...
you can stir together oil and water, but they won't stay mixed. the oil is broken up into suspension by the whirling, but all the droplets will naturally separate, rise up and rejoin into one

We have plenty of teachers, we need students. We need listeners. We need humility. We need to be open minded, yet not so much so that we'd be deceived. We must understand the foundation that is Christ, and continue to grow in revelation of the truth. Humility both from the teachers and the audience reading. Meekness and respect.

I've chatted with people here and after a certain point you know when someone is receptive to the truth. Oftentimes the giveaway is that they are dismissive not trying to understand but just stuck in their ways unwilling to learn. Intent can be read, and unfortunately some aren't here to build up but tear down, breaking unity.

What does the BDF need? Humility, meekness and respect. However, and praise God, seeds can be sown. Truth chipping away at the walls of deception. May the Lord soften hearts and give us ears to hear that which we need to hear this day.
We have a lot of want-a-be teachers, who should be students.

Another tongues thread.
Another tongues thread with water baptism and loss of salvation. That one would outlast the rapture and the tribulation. Might even delay the second advent.

Perhaps we need to post like Jesus is reading every word we type.

the option to edit without the 5 minute rule.
5 minutes is a bit ridiculous.
I agree,if only for the bible discussion thread, considering how much scripture or words one usually is required to type to have a decent discussion,7-10 minutes would be a help.

The forum just needs to realize this is just an internet forum nothing more nothing less. No need to get hurt feelings over the internet.

I like this forum and got no complaints.

I notice a lot of people talking about the BDF mostly in "I don't go in here for this" and "I don't come in here for that person," etc etc. I will admit I don't frequent it often because I'm not well read in His word I'll admit. But y'all who frequent it, what do you think?

What do you think it lacks? What do you get from it? What does it need? What kind of people would you like to participate?

Personal attacks should be against board rules.

* Attack the ideas, not the member.*

I would like some new topics! I realize there are people who are newbies to the forum, newbies in salvation, but I am pretty tired of the same 3 or 4 topics being rehashed over and over.

I would also like to see outright heretics banned faster. CC adheres to orthodox Christianity, like most Christians. I don't have time of day for people who maligned the deity of Christ, for example. We should not give them a place to spout their lies and influence those new to Christ. I know most of them eventually get banned, but sooner is better than later!

Some might think we can argue this people into the truth, but I have seen it so rarely, anyone changing their mind about anything, we should not be fooling around where core doctrines are concerned!

Unfortunately true!
Particularly since there appears to be a sad correlation that those with the least orthodox doctrine also appear to the least amenable to correction...

Needs more people who state their point directly without
asking a click-bait question that they go on to "answer" for you.

I like it....I like the banter, heated discussions, exchanging sword blows with those that oppose any and all views held by whomever.....My view.....we live in an age when many are easily offended and when the rubber really meets the road which is coming soon on a planet near you....those who are strong in faith will be separated from those who are weak and easily offended.....if some cannot endure a little heat over what they believe....no way they can endure what is really coming
Romans 14:1Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

2 Timothy 2:[SUP]23 [/SUP]But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.[SUP] 24 [/SUP]And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,[SUP] 25 [/SUP]In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;[SUP] 26 [/SUP]And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
