You really need a serious lesson in OT theology.

Yahweh utterly destroyed hundreds of thousands of people at a time, for their improper worship of Him...and He let only a Righteous remnant of humanity to continue to advance into the future.

What was it about that remnant that pleased Yahweh?
They worshipped him as one God
[h=3]1 Corinthians 8:6[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]6 [/SUP]But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him
Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
All things are of the Father and all things by our Lord why are they not sharing with the holy spirit...There is no trinity

Look at you with your one-hit-wonder scripture that you parade around from thread to thread to thread.....and?

Tell us plainly how this supposedly thwarts The Trinity?

Hi Catherine.... There is only One God. That's an ultimate Biblical truth. In the mean time if you look at the bible for who the Father is you would find, Father is that one and Only God, surprisingly you will get the same answer if you ask who the Son is or Holy Spirit is!!!! You may read my article on Godhead.... It's a new approach to explain Godhead.... you may read it here.. http://bit.ly/1lGSDJE

You claim three persons co equal where is the third in the sharing of all things? God is worshipped in the bible,Christ is worshipped in the bible ,show me where the holy spirit is worshipped in the bible. God Gave Christ all power. Christ will give all things back to God after he has conquered all. Do you see holy ghost mentioned anywhere. Look at the scripture below...

[h=3]1 Corinthians 15:24-28[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]24 [/SUP]Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Trinity:-
1. A group or set of three people or things; Triad; Trio; Trine.
2. The state of being three; Threeness.

In the Holy Bible and it's sound doctrine knowledge teaches us that, yes, GOD is 'one'. But also in the New Testament, witnesses personally, even those who were beside HIM, testified and have been recorded, that we learn by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT, that here on earth the Kingdom of GOD and GOD's manifestation was witnessed by many, even until today around the world, is seen only in the SON, by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT who is for the SON and they have accomplished Salvation, in order that all mankind may be reconciled, declaring Good news and peace, an escape from HIS wrath.

And further believe in HIS SON and the Teacher, the HOLY SPIRIT and through HIS 'abiding' servants and furthermore 'abide/continue/keep' HIS words and love, and be fruitful and their fruit must also 'abide'.

GOD did not act on HIS own, nor did the SON and nor did the HOLY SPIRIT, to disregard 'Trinity'.

The Gospel records to all believers who have come to CHRIST by the Help of GOD the HOLY SPIRIT, that written in the 'Transfiguration' of JESUS of Nazareth, the Living GOD from Heaven HIMSELF confessed in the presence of Moses and Elijah and James, Peter and John were made witnessed to all of this to believe and give an account to all even us today, including hearing GOD'S own voice who have already proclaim about HIS only chosen SON, JESUS, for all in Heaven and on earth to honor, that HIS fullness and likeness is only seen in the SON (even angels did not receive such a title).

GOD said;

"This is my dearly beloved begotten SON, in 'whom' I AM well pleased. Listen to everything HE says."

Only those who come through the SON, who is the 'door/gate' by the Helper's help, the HOLY SPIRIT, further believing in the SON's words and love, who is the only heart pleasing of the FATHER, given HE and brought JESUS, Grace and Truth of the Kingdom of GOD, making peace, sent as the 'Light for the world', in order for those who believe in HIM, further 'abide' in all of them that HE commanded and instructed and do them and be 'fruitful'. (That is why the church were persecuted for 'abiding' and their fruits who also 'abide' in all of them and continued for them. The true Kingdom of GOD always faced violent men who want to take it by force. But they even laid down their lives, even to their human enemies and this is truthfully considered as Living Truth established sound doctrine knowledge of 'Victorious Perseverance', one of true repentance and true love, without violence in return in order to save another who is doing them in ignorance)

The similarity of having faith and with works in all of them, as the truth tree and true fruits of HIS imitation, representing in the likeness and fullness of the SON, as how HIS 'abiding' chosen servants performed, as recorded in the Holy Bible for all of us to witness and be the same imitating witnesses. And this proves to those who are witnessing that we are 'one' with them and they are 'one' with us.

Then only the SON and the FATHER was truly in and with them and now also in us. No one and even those who claim as HIS gifted representatives, can take a short cut or go ahead or neglect or ignore all that is written in the New Covenant in whole. Those who do such things, JESUS says;

"Are robbers and thieves who have climb in and have not come through ME, the 'door/gate' to MY lambs and sheep."

NOTHING!

The Bible does teach this... If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

If Father God and Son Jesus will come and make "OUR ABODE" with the one that keep His words, how do they do it? How does God the Father and Jesus the Son make "OUR ABODE" with a man that keep His words? Is this not the ONLY Way? 2 John 7:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
So we see Father God and Jesus are truly.....
I and my Father are one.

i do not need according to the gift i have of wisdom of the Scripture, to quote. But to believers who have been taught by the HOLY SPIRIT know the Scripture well. i am merely an unworthy servant who reminds and stir up memories of the taught Scripture. You who are gifted in Scripture quoting, can assist to quote for the LORD JESUS CHRIST in service to HIM and not me. You are helping others as you are gifted and taught and not on your own, in order to build and edify.

Stop being proud, for the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT is distributed and i am no better than you and you are no better than me, but we all are accountable for not obeying GOD and doing HIS will, ourselves in our given lives, in order for others to witness the 'Light of this world' in us according to the Word in obedience and also it is written in the New Covenant regarding faith and works, even today our highlighted negligence to comply.
For this, it is already been written and established by "the author and finisher of our faith", for our own witnessing in our given lives first. Apart from this and continuing only in the gifts and not in the truth, will be liable to as it is written:

"...................................accumulating trouble for ourselves on judgement day."

Why did JESUS instructed HIS disciples to baptize in the name of the FATHER, SON and the HOLY SPIRIT?

Why not just 'one name', 'JEHOVAH', so that you are right and i am wrong in Holy Scripture, taught and witnessing sound doctrine knowledge of the Kingdom of GOD?

I do apologise if I came across proud or puffed up...but I do get a bit angry when I see doctrine of man being purported. It is responsible for so much destruction...

i accept in humble and humility and being lower than you, your apology. We are called, when possessing the HOLY SPIRIT distributed gifts, to work together in unity and first of all, you can discern for yourself my utterance is also from Scripture, but spoken in the gift of wisdom.
Stephen in the book of Acts did not have a Torah or any present doctrine documents in his hands and ever quoted from them, in order to minister unto the ignorant Jews. But since it is written he was blessed with HOLY SPIRIT and Fire, he spoke plainly and openly, in wisdom, ministering to the Jews in a brief moment, beginning from the story of Abraham until Jesus of Nazareth whom they have crucified.

May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST bless and reward you, for your humble and humility towards HIS least important servant.

If Jesus is not God? Then God is an Idolater!

I am a little confused
about some Bible texts: Yes I am not a novice in Bible study.

Matthew 1: 23 (ISV) says: “See, a virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son (Jesus), and they will name him (Jesus) Immanuel,”[a) which means, “God (ho theos) with us.”

Is Jesus name Immanuel? God with us! The greek word (ho theos) is used here. The beginning of John 1:1 says: In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word (Logos) was with God (ho theos)..." Same exact word to describe God! Jesus is the wORD because John 1:14 says "The Word became flesh..."

Help me understand? The rest of John 1:1 says: "...the Word (Jesus) was God (theos)'.

Stiil more confusion? Is not God only able to create? Is Jesus a created being or Creator?

Romans 1:25 says: "They exchanged God’s truth for a lie and worshipped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen". People who worship and serve created things, rather than the Creator, have left the truth of God.

Why does Colossians 1:16 say Jesus Created ALL things? I thought only God can create?

Colossians 1:16 says: "For by him ALL things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

Still more confusion? Exodus 20 :3-5 - "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not bow down to them or worship them". NOT BOW DOWN OR WORSHIP!

Yet Philippians 2:9-11 says:" ...At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth".

This sounds like Idolatry if Jesus is a created being and not our Creator God. And of all things God is the Idolater. Breaking His own commands. The problem Malachi 3;6 says: “I am the LORD, and I do not change. God cannot change His mind and change His rules.

Still more confusion: Isaiah 42:8 says: “I am the LORD; that is my name my glory I give to no other…” God does not share His glory!

Yet we read in 2 Peter 1: 17: For he (Jesus) received honor and glory from God the Father when these words from the Majestic Glory were spoken about him: “This is my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with him.”

Again, this sounds like Idolatry if Jesus is a created being and not our Creator God. Jesus can only be same one God!

Can you help me out concerning these passages?

The problem with such numerical error stems from (intentional) mis-translation of the Hebrew word translated as one!

Dt 6:4
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
KJV

The Hebrew word translated as one is אֶחָֽד ׁ(Echad) ; which signifies composite unity.

The spies sent to examine Jericho brought back one אֶחָֽד ׁ(Echad) cluster of grapes [one cluster many grapes) (Nu 13:23).

A pod of 3 peas is still 1 pod of peas. A God of 3 distinct persons is still 1 God.
