Polytheism is definitely a condemned doctrine in the Bible. Do you believe the Bible is innerant and infallible?

This is speaking sarcastically, and not to God’s people but to those of the earth who ignore the poor and walk around in darkness. If you keep reading it says “but you will die like mortals, you will fall like every other ruler.”

So in other words you are saying we can't judge who is spreading false doctrine making Jesus' warning a fake warning since we can't judge what are false teachings?

Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
Matthew 24:11 NASB

yes we can judge but we don’t uproot anyone

Do you think you have the right to judge unto condemnation?
Do you think you have the right to uproot anything before the time

if we judge, our hope still is that those in error may come to their senses and turn back to GOD

Gods, multiple... created in the likeness of men seen and not God not seen is the foundation of blasphemy.

Do they exist? The Catholic have set aside the legion.... 3,500 and rising workers with familiar spirits as disembodied what they must call patron saints .Necromancy as word that means to seek after describes those kind of workers. It is the foundation they build their kind of upside down faith on. It takes away the understanding of God by assuming there are two sources of faith . One after man the Pope who creates new saints called patron and the other the things of God who does call a saint those he sets apart .not that which man (Pope) sets apart.

I don't have to condemn anyone since the Bible already condemns those who think they are a god:

“Tell them this: ‘These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.’ ”

I knew that you can't read a literal translation and would twist it and turn it on its head so that's why I quoted the GW translation which locks you out from perverting the Bible with your polytheism. You proved my assumption about what you would do to be correct.

lol okay, well ill leave it there God bless you though either way, you may want to find out what poly thiesm actually is, and I really have learned that when a person goes to insults and agruing the validity of a translation...... its just because the position is not tenable. you have no answer but to explain How ive corruptred and distorted Gods word, by quoting the entirety of a psalm :) it seems more emotional of a respnse as if ive somehow offended you, it wasnt my intention, just making a point, im not gonna go into the translation debate though.....Peace is yours friend !

Isaiah 60 " Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.2For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3
And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising."

Isaiah 9:2 "
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."

matthew 4 "
The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

john 8 " Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. "( john 1)

Matthew 5 " Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

john 12 " I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

acts 26:18 " To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me."

1 peter 2 " Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,8And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:10Which in time past were not a people,( gentiles) but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."

john 3 " And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

john 1 " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

ephesians 5 " For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. "

really was set from the start,

Genesis 1 "
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and Goddivided the light from the darkness."

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

"At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you."

GENESIS 1 : 27 " So God created mankind in his own image; in his own image God created them; he created them male and female."

2 corinthians 4 "
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

2 cor. 3 " But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

lol yea im sure it does, no argument here, the issue is ploythiesm believes in more than One God, i dont, and have never said anything as such. i dont disagree one who believed that there are more than One God, probably is in pretty Bad shape. on the other hand.........scripture still says the same thing, as when i showed you the first time :)

God, calls His people gods, not GOD, He calls them gods, His Children. you know> if that somehow in your mind, makes me a polythiest....... i am at peace withthat judgement, because it doesnt apply to me in any way shape or form, its just something ill forgive and forget, One of the promises in the Gospel in which i believe.........is that God will deal with those who do wrong, and he is able to determine that, my place is to Say, Be blessed and God, the Only God lol Loves you immensly !

the Psalm says what it says, some cant handle it because it disagrees with man made doctrines so rather than ask why it says what it says they chose to change the Psalms meaning.

worship of other gods is forbidding. show me a scripture where we are forbidden to believe they exist.

Bro He has twisted it so far , as to what was never said, i think he is upset because he hadnt remembered the scriptures, and Jesus confirming them. [polytiesm is belief and worship of multiple Gods. the onloy reason, that idea was introduced into this conversation, is because he brought the idea, and claims thats what you and I are saying. its what people do when they se they had something wrong..... i think weve probably all been there. its strange to me, because it is Jesus interoretation of scrioptures.....its not like we need to wait for another idea ofwhat it means. if you look, " wheres the debate?"

john 10 " But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30I and my Father are one. <<< do you think some from this forum would be grabbing stones based on jesus teaching polythiesm or perhaps blasphemy?
31
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. << thier accusation

34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, << end of debate) and the scripture cannot be broken; 36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?"

the word of God, has always come to man, from the garden forth.what God has said, is it is His will to make us Like him, His children conformed tothe Image of Jesus, who is the image of God. and God made man in His own image, in His own Likeness.........

what is that likeness? "No one has ever seen God, but the only begotten has declared Him."

were conformed to the image of Gods Son,, because He is the Image of God.

thats exactly my belief. and then in john 8 Jesus cnfirms it Himself.. cant really see any leg to stand on personally. but im not sure you know, sometimes maybe i just think i am seeing what im seeing :) or maybe the whole conspiracy thing about the secret translations and all that stuff yadda....... the thing is with just plain old faith in the word of God, is that when you put them to the test.......they never ever fail. seems like kjv, niv...no difference if we believe in Yeshua, or Jesus.....words and punctiation...but truth is truth.

odd because its actually Jesus statement saying the law does say that, that began the debate. im probably old school, but to me if Jesus makes a point clear, theres no better information that will ever be made available we can trust His words and His understanding of everything. that sort of leaves absolutely no doubt, to me anyways..... i believe Jesus always has the proper answers and understandings tho, and ALOT of folks on here do not see it that way, so...

anyways bro, God bless you and thanks for the conversation.

i believe other gods exist, however i do not worship them. i believe they exist because scripture mentions them so much, if they didnt exist there would be no point in having a command not to worship them.
then you have the common sense thing, great men like Solomon worshiped them, why would he do that, worship something that does not exist, he wasnt stupid, he was one of the wisest of them all, his wisdom came from the heavens, and with all that wisdom he didnt know that other gods do not exist, im not buying it.

there is a difference between gods and the Most High.
there is a difference between believing they exist, and praying to them, worshiping them.

i agree the statement of Jesus, confirms the psalm passage is about gods / heavenly beings. had the pharisees been accusing Jesus of being a judge or making Himself a judge (like a common person judge of this world) then the "judge" theory would work, but thats not what they are talking about.
people get uneasy when you throw around the term "gods" they think it can mean one thing and one thing only, the Most High, the bible says different.

The term, elohim, was used even in reference to magistrates in its day, not just to gods or people of renown.

Had the title, elohim, been suffiecient, Moses would not have felt the need to ask, Who he should say sent him when he was
to go talk to the Hebrews in Egyypt

This is why God instructed Moses saying to tell them Yahweh had sent Him. Now because there can be a gerund form of any verb, the Hebrews understood it as the gerund form of the Hebrew verb, Hayay, or to be in English. It may be translated as saying "Tell them the Self-Existing has sent you.

That would be Yahweh. This is simply another title of our Father like, El, Eloah, Elohim, Lord of Hosts, Amighty Maker, Everlasting Father, Jesus or Yeshua, The Holy Spirit and many more titles.

As Zephaniah prophesies, come our reunion, our final reunion, God will give us a pure and new tongue so we may all call upon Him by one Name........I believe this Name will be His true Name and not simply a description of an attribut of God.

Good morning to all from here. I pray you are keeping Jesus Christ crucified formost in mind for salvation, and not a lot of unnecessary details........All blessings in Yeshua, Jesus, amen.
