It is self-evident that most knowwhat they intend when using the word, god, however most have no idea of the word and its origin.
Etymology has been able to trace the word, god, back to Sanskrit where it loses the trail of its meaning. In other words, people do not know the origin of the word, god, but they certainly are aware of what they mean when they use the word. With a capital g it is our Maker in all of His manifestations........+
jIn many aspects , the same holds true of the words, el, elohim, etc. People know how it has been being used of late, but they have no ideaof its original usage. Some even say it means lord, and today for many it does, but its origin al usage was applied to men of honor or strength and finally to any of what we call gods, Greek, Roman Babylonian, etc.
If we would be certain we would use the title God gave to Moses, always, Yahweh, or Self-Existing, but this is not good for many.. When I use the words God, Holy Spirit, Jesus, etc, i KNOW IT is Yahweh, the Self-Existing. It owuld be nice to know all feel this to be true, but as long as they know etymologies and facts without study, this hope is oft time a complete disappointment.
Good morning to all from here and God bless you.
