Matthew 24:36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
very true but note that nothing is said about the year...just a thought.

My understanding is that after "the rapture" there will be people who turn to The Lord, these will become martyrs when they reject the mark of the beast

Yes, so does Nostradamus and from what I understand a few other religions too...and a few months ago I heard a Christian pastor give a talk that the Bible points to 2012 as well, can't remember the scriptures that he gave but from what I recall it had something to do with the end of a certain age that we are in at the moment. science apparently also has some events that are taking place at this time......end of the world?..I believe not as that is not scriptural, but I do believe that just maybe 2012 will be some sought of event that will make history...time will tell won't it!..should we as Christians be concerned?..NO, because whatever or IF anything happens it is in Gods plans.

I completely agree, whatever God has in store is going to happen. Who cares, we are in the hands of the creator.

Just wondering what if the 2012 prophecy about the end of the world happened?Would you be still faithful to God despite of the Mayans predicted the happening?or if the bible knew it before them, are there any related accounts that could be applied to this prophecy?
1. The 2012 prediction is based on the Maya hype which doesn't claim the end of the world but the end of a full cycle.
2. The 2012 prediction is wrong, the closest approximation is 2030-2036 and again, its not the end of the world that is predicted.
3. If the world would end, you would only get to know that on the very moment you could do nothing about it or have more than some hours to realize the world is ending.
4. My God tells me that I should not trust fortune tellers. Heck, I don't even rely on the weather forecast.
