I agree and will also say that ALL is conclusive of ALL when used in context...

ALL THE LAW AND PROPHETS HANG ON THE FIRST TWO COMMANDMENTS......

1. Love God
2. Love your neighbor

If you do these two the rest by default will already be in play if you will...

If I love my neighbor I will not....

1. Steal from them
2. Cheat them
3. Murder them
4. Commit adultery with them
5. Etc.....
Not trying to say you shouldn't love God by any means but that's not the first commandment. Its to have no other gods before him. Wiccans are an example of a people that can claim to love God but to also have other gods before Him.

John 7:16-19 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
Condemnation of these characters...

Mat 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
Mat 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

And you can read the rest of the chapter. Now according to some, here is one of the dirtiest tricks ever pulled on a person...

Joh 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Joh 5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Joh 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

So Jesus heals the man, then tells him to do something that was absolutely impossible and backed it with a threat that something worse than being crippled for 38 years (verse 5) was going to happen to him? Did Christ set him up?

The First Commandment is to Love God...

Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

The Ten Commandments tell us how to love God...

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Then the last six zero in on how to love our neighbor...

Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Notice that working no ill to his neighbor is what you have if you keep the last six Commandments? Doing this fulfills the Law...

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

All of God's Commandments hang on these two Great Commandments. Notice it does not say they are done away or abolished by these two Great Commandments? It says they are suspended by, supported by the two Great Commandments.

Really? I guess I misunderstood Jesus when he said in Matthew 22:37-40 which states....

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. THIS IS THE FIRST AND GREAT COMMANDMENT."

The second is like unto it
, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS.

lol.. Ok keep thinking that.

They did not crucify Christ because they sinned.

They did not think they needed Christ because they had the law

Keep on believing what mankind has believed for 6000, I hope it does you good.

Are you getting bored believing in the Eternal One?
Deuteronomy 32:17 They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God-- gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear.

Ah my friend, but there is one Great Commandment, LOVE. It breaks down into the two Great Commandments: Love God and Love Your Neighbor. These break down into the Ten Commandments and the Ten Commandments are broken down into the statutes and judgments.

So it would be contradicting to say
I do not need the words which say do not covet what your neighbor has, Do not bear false witness against your neighbor. Do not kill your neighbor. Do not fornicate with your neighbors daughter, or commit adultery with his wife. etc etc etc.
Wouldn't it?

No. Jesus commanded Him to do His will, and the Pharisees restricted the man by their traditional doctrine that wasn't from the original persuasion of the law. The healed man succumbed to man's law instead of God's law, and by doing that Jesus warned him that he would be in worse shape than before if he continued doing the Pharisees law instead of God's. This is a good lesson fall all of us. The dirty trick was from the Pharisees, not from Jesus.

Mark 3:4-6 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

he was speaking of what Jesus said in the NT.
Matt 22:
[SUP]34 [/SUP]But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. [SUP]35 [/SUP]Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, [SUP]36 [/SUP]“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

[SUP]37 [/SUP]Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[SUP][d][/SUP] [SUP]38 [/SUP]This is the first and great commandment. [SUP]39 [/SUP]And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[SUP][e][/SUP] [SUP]40 [/SUP]On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

No. Why? And how could I? He always has somethnig for me to do. People for me to serve , things for me to learn A true and faithful christian life is not a boring life. it is an exhausting one. Without the power of God. people would not be able to do it.

Deuteronomy 32:17 They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God-- gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear.

Thats great, But I am not talking about the first jews. But the ones in the time of Christ.

Lets get in line first. then maybe we can talk. Your talking about a completely different group of people who were LONG since dead when the people I am speaking of were born.

Why is it so hard for you to admit the Ten Commandments are a description of love?
Why is it so hard for you to admit, if I have love, I do not need the ten, for they are already covered? (PS there are far more than ten, and love covers them all.

i guess I misunderstood the source of your cluster of half new half old testament law there. Im still learning. Lack of clarity makes that more difficult

because He says:
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[SUP] [/SUP]Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

welcome to Christian chat.

That happens alot. Just be open and try to understand what people say. You may even need to ask them to say it again a different way.

People have a way of half reading, then assume what people are saying, then all you know what breaks lose.

And thanks for being open and honest. Thats the way god wants us to be :)
