Yes we know Jesus is the one that saves, but how ?
The answer to this clears up a great deal of confusion within christianity.

We all commit sin (Romans 3:23)

The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

Jesus died for us and through His death, we are saved from the wrath of God and made right with Him (Romans 5:8-11).

Our old self has died with Christ and we are given new life in Him (Romans 6:3-11).

We participate in this by faith (Romans 3:21-22).

Yes, through believing the gospel of Jesus Christ, how he died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day.

I would only vary slightly from your post in Romans 3...to those who believe. The faith of Christ is imputed to those who believe. God’s righteousness is through the faith of Jesus Christ.

If I understand you correctly, you are asking how Jesus saves? So you are asking what his sacrifice did and why it was necessary.

It has to do with the inadequacy of animal sacrifices and the perfection of Christ's sacrifice.

Still, why did Christ have to be crucified? Hebrews 10 also explains that. God didn't like sacrifices, but due to the hardness of peoples' heart He made it so.

What is a hardened heart then? It has to do with frequent and unrepentant sin: Romans 1:18-24

In summary: people are sinners and can't accept things unless there are signs and wonders to prove it to them, hence why Jesus came and got crucified.

Read Hebrews chapter 10.

Jesus holds the keys to life and death. If we align ourselves with Him, we live :)

To align oneself means to agree with God, and the Gospel.

To hear, believe, repent, and be saved, we are reconciled to God, escape the second death, and attain to life ever after.

So when we ' align ourselves with him ' ( what do you mean?) what happens to us ? How are we now not bound for hell ?

I already said... though I might add, hearing, believing, and obeying amounts
to faith in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins.

This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out
for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Matthew 26:28

All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes
in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.
Acts 10:43

Matthew 7:21-23 says that doing the will of the Father in heaven is what we must do for Jesus to say he knows us and let us in.

So the question is, what is God's will for the world and how do we know Jesus?

You've heard it a million times I'm sure, but it isn't something we earn based on the mighty works done through us, elegant sermons, flowery prayers, etc.

We are asked to repent and have faith in Christ's work as sufficient to save us.

So how are we no longer hell bound ? how are we no longer under condemnation ? what changes and how are we changed?

John 1:11-13
11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

So my question is what is a son or daughter of God entitled to?

Spiritual rebirth. It's an act of God. I don't know if the Bible explains what the exact processes are that are happening. Jesus compares it to the wind. You can't see it directly and it can't be controlled by us, but we can feel it's effects.

John 3:8
8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
