John 1:11-13
11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

So my question is what is a son or daughter of God entitled to?
They are entitled to ' blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. ( Eph 1.3 )

Spiritual rebirth. It's an act of God. I don't know if the Bible explains what the exact processes are that are happening. Jesus compares it to the wind. You can't see it directly and it can't be controlled by us, but we can feel it's effects.

John 3:8
8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Yes we appropriate this through faith. The moment we believe God does those things for us and to us .

So we need to understand exactly what happens to us . Otherwise what are we trusting that has happened to us ?

It definitely involves 1 cor 12.13 and Eph 1.12-13

I already said... though I might add, hearing, believing, and obeying amounts
to faith in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins.

This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out
for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Matthew 26:28

All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes
in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.
Acts 10:43
Its more than just a verbal agreement of course . Something changes and is given to us ,in order to recieve the Adoption when Jesus returns .

Agreeing that You believe in Jesus Christ, that He, the very Son of God, came and died for Your sins...then repenting, acknowledging that You need redemption....then giving Your whole heart, mind and body to Him, leaning in and trusting, every day picking up the cross, choosing to believe.

He does the work in You. Yours is to come into agreement. Read the words, eat them, for they will become the joy and rejoicing of your soul, for You are called by the Lord of Hosts.

Taste and see that He is good!! Read Psalms 16:5-11. Experience your heart burn as He opens up the word. He is not just an idea or a concept. He is real and the only way. Fall in Love with Jesus. Oh how sweet He is!!!!!! Ask Him your questions, with a sincere heart...then watch qnd listen. Seek and you will find!!!

God Bless you and yours.

" Agreeing that You believe in Jesus Christ, that He, the very Son of God, came and died for Your sins...then repenting, acknowledging that You need redemption." This much is true ..the rest is the error of Lordship salvation which leads people to be under a burden of condemnation and despair .

John 16:7 ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

The Holy Spirit must produce conviction in the heart of the lost soul upon hearing the word of God. Without Holy Spirit conviction there is no conversion. Grace is unmerited favor and Holy Spirit conviction reveals the true condition of the lost sinner.

We are saved by grace through faith. The word of God produces the faith needed when the Holy Spirit shows the sinner he is lost and that he is on his way to eternal condemnation.

But what saves a person today ?
Being forgiven of our sin saves a person today. Our part in this is only that we have faith in that Christ can do this for us and that we want to live in this forgiven state instead of living with our sin. It is called repentance in scripture.

Some people love their sin so much they would rather keep it, they don't want to give it up to Christ for forgiveness. In that case the Lord lets them have what they want. Christ only asks that we truly want to give up our sin. Paul tells us that he often sins, but he doesn't want to sin and hates that about himself. He wants to not sin.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. "
Romans 6:14 "For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace". Grace is the unmerited favor of God towards man.

When Christ was explaining that to do to others is like doing to Him scripture tells us in Matt. 25:46 "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, (those who sin against others) but the righteous to eternal life.” There is only one way to achieve righteousness, it is through Christ who forgives sin.

In the old testament they had a means for remission of sins . If Jesus did not come and there was no cross, then no one would be redeemed. You need remission and redemption to be saved .

I agree. The Holy Spirit reprove s the world for not believing on Jesus.
The Holy Spirit works in individual hearts to make known the personal nature of eternal condemnation as a consequence of personal sin. You do not get saved until you first see yourself as lost with no hope of redemption outside of Christ.

Mass evangelism has made salvation a corporate affair and produced converts that are very likely not genuine. They receive a head knowledge of Christ but not a personal knowledge born of a desperate need for redemption that cannot be attained by self effort.

Which verse says its our ' personl sin ' ? I read that its " because they believe not on Jesus " Equally i see people complicating the Gospel into a " if your really saved then you would and should do this and that " Or worse " You need to forsake your sins, stop sinning and really, really make a commitment to promise to dedicate and surrender all "

What is more personal than death?

The purpose of the ten commandments was to make sin personal.

If you have not forsaken all else for Christ you have not understood the gospel.

Well, you are spending a lot of time correcting the error of other's way. I pray you spend your precious time focusing on His way, between you and Him. Then go out and spread the gospel, not getting stuck like a gerbil on a treadmill, peddling your feet faster and faster, getting nowhere, with those of us who already love and believe Him.

I say all that but perhaps you are being called to correct your brothers and sisters in Christ. If so, please be well and be open to correction yourself.

I will pray that God continues to help me and you understand that which I do not, keeping in mind our thoughts are not His. I appreciate His guidance. I will always want and need His Lordship. I do not find it burdensome.
