I understand this is what protestants believe about Catholics. Couldn't be futher from the truth. This is why this will never be resolved until our Savior comes back
You neglected to illustrate where this post deviates from the truth. My wife was a Roman Catholic when I married her. Her family remains in the catholic church. While I hope that somewhere in their religion they have received sufficient knowledge of Christ to be saved but I have had many discussions with them and they seem to have a different understanding of the same words I use when discussing the bible. I have experienced similar issue here on the forums with other catholics.

I fellowship with several born again Christians who were catholic and came out of the catholic church. Many if not all of them would confirm much of what is offered here in regard to romes errant teaching.

Its your interpretation of those words that's not accepted. Every Catholic believes the Bible just not every interpretation

But its the correct interpretation that matters as Jesus made clear to the Scribes.

Many RCs may 'believe the Bible'. So do Mormons, JWs etc Its what they add on to change the interpretation that matters

Well I define grace with a biblical definition. They define grace with a church definition.

you just described mormonism.

& just as they have 'additional holy writ' from the declarations of their own prophets, catholics also have additional writings they regard with equal weight as scripture by way of papal decrees & statements.
with both bodies, these 'additional scriptures' in many places contradict the Bible.

the pope makes himself equal to God, as though he sits on His throne, and so do the LDS prophets.

these two religious bodies are the wealthiest in the entire world, more powerful in a secular sense than many countries, spanning the globe. both consider themselves to be the only true church of God, and both have leadership that claims a line of ordination directly from the apostles.

the #1 way both of these two grow in 'membership' is the more-or-less automatic inclusion of the offspring of their practitioners.

both are from outside of themselves very often thought to be the antichrist or a beast spoken of in Revelation. maybe only whoever happens to hold the US presidency is in the running with them for most-often called by this ignominious title.

eerie parallel, ain't it?

What we need to understand is we True Christians look at the Scriptures from God as the ultimate authority on the Truth.

The Catholics look at their Doctrines and Traditions as being EQUAL to the Scriptures from God.

This is why Catholics today see nothing wrong with Worshiping Mary as their god.

They have no foundation, they have built their foundation on sand instead of Jesus who is the Rock.

Matthew 7:24-27
[SUP]24 [/SUP]“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. [SUP]25 [/SUP]And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. [SUP]26 [/SUP]Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. [SUP]27 [/SUP]The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

The Catholic Church has built itself on sand. God clearly said ALL have sinned. The Catholics say Mary was sinless. By claiming Mary had no sin, the Catholics have built their Church on sand and not on Jesus who is the Rock.

Romans 3:23
[SUP]23 [/SUP]for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 5:12
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned

All -
1.the whole of (used in referring to quantity, extent, or duration): all the cake; all the way; all year.

2.the whole number of (used in referring to individuals or particulars, taken collectively): all students.

3.the greatest possible (used in referring to quality or degree): with all due respect; with all speed.

4.every:all kinds; all sorts.

5.any; any whatever:beyond all doubt.

6.nothing but; only:The coat is all wool.

So if what you say Nikki84 is the definition of ALL in the dictionary is wrong just because you Catholics say so?

The reasons the Catholics do not believe ALL includes Mary is because the Catholics have never accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and are walking in Darkness.

1 John 1:5-7
[SUP]5 [/SUP]This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. [SUP]6 [/SUP]If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; [SUP]7 [/SUP]but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Its a shame the Catholics walk in Darkness today.

The Bible God's interpretation to us as a revelation from heaven. To the Catholics it is not what they call the whole deposit of faith .In doing so they make it to no effect and rather seek the understanding of their fathers as the whole deposit of faith.

Scripture to a Catholic cannot perform what it claims it can independent of their fathers private interpretation as oral tradition of men.. The fathers, called apostolic succession is the final approval they must seek after.

Catholics have a hard time understanding what the Scriptures are saying because most Catholics do not have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Catholics believe they receive Salvation at the end of their lives by doing enough good works. How then can they receive the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit if they never seek Him out?

We teach seek out Jesus first, accept Him as our Lord and Savior and then be Baptized.

The Catholics teach be Baptized first and then do enough good works to receive Jesus after they die.

This is why Catholics cannot understand anything Spiritual.

@Nikki84 If every Catholic believes in the Holy Bible (& we're not referring 2 their Catholic Bible that they've created ages ago), then why would they choose 2 knowingly go against @ least 3 of the 10 Commandments which is written as plain & as 1 of the least confusing "interpretations" that can prolly b found in the entire Bible itself????

Purgatory, not allowing Priests or Nuns 2 marry, go forth, & multiply & yet they can still hv & do all of these things & remain obedient 2 the Lord our Father & serve Him accordingly. Hypothetically speaking, what if everyone followed Catholocism & most of the population decided that the only real way 2 serve Him was by choosing 2 marry the church, then human beings as a whole wud eventually cease 2 exist despite the hard core fact that that clearly goes against His Word. If we were all 2 start marrying the church as the only way 2 seek Salvation, then human beings as a species in general, wud eventually cease 2 exist over time, bc they are not following His word. It's almost a form of outright blasphemy in my opinion. Smh....

Let the Dead bury the Dead. They choose not 2 seek out the truth & the Word which is not written in Hieroglyphics so there's pretty much not 1 solid, valid, or logical reason as 2 y I honestly feel that I should hv any genuine sympthathy, empathy, sadness/sorrow, etc 4 them when Judgement Day finally does make itself known. I pray 4 them yet I pity them all n the same breath :-(. And NO, I AM NOT CASTING ANY JUDGEMENT ON ANYONE'S FAITH BC CATHOLOCISM IS THE PRIMARY RELIGION THROUGHOUT MOST OF MY ENTIRE FAMILY. I CHOSE 2 LEAVE THE CHURCH BC AFTR 17yrs I still didn't really know anything & I HD NEVR FELT THE HOLY SPIRIT NOT EVEN 4 1 MILLISECOND UNTIL I FINALLY DECIDED 2 WALK AWAY FRM THE CATHOLIC CHURCH & I HV NO HOPES,PLANS,WISHES,INCLINATION,DESIRE 2 EVER WASTE ANYMORE OF MY PRECIOUS & VALUABLE TIME THERE....IN COMPLETE & UTTER DARKNESS

We can look at the verse in Romans 3:23 that says all have sinned and interpret it to mean everyone is a sinner.

The Catholics look at Romans 3:23 and say yes i agree with all only meaning some, a few, but not everyone.

They interpret the Scriptures through their "Mary" glasses. They run the Scriptures through the "Mary" lenses, leaving out everything that make their "Mary" look like a normal person.

The Catholics reject everything in the Scriptures that makes their "Mary" out to not be a god.

Its not the Truth the Catholics want, its the lies they seek after because the lies sooth their troubled minds and lulls them into a state where they will accept what Satan says as the absolute Truth.

The deal with the Catholics is they have been deceived by the Catholic Church. To them the Catholic Church and Mary are their gods.

You can look at that verse and fail to see it is a quote of Psalm 14. If you read it you would see that Isreal was considered rightous. All of the the evil doers had sinned, yes all. Please stop misquoting this verse in Romans. Was Adam born with sin? How about a two year old child? Are they capable of sin? Are mentally disabled persons sinning? When you don't understand the "All" that Romans 3:23 is referring to (Psalm 14) you have to include people that can't possibly sin. Psalm 14 plainly states "All evildoers" not all people

You actually need to start at Romans 3:10 to get the context of "All". Paul is quoting Psalm 14 which explains ALL evildoers
