I was just on a forum and Catholosisim came up. I got nothing against people who are catholic but I don't consider them to be Christian either. I here there are quite a few differences between them and a Christian church. My friends Catholic and I'm trying to convince him to convert. But he's in the mindset once a Catholic always a Catholic. Or are the differences minor and nothing to worry about? Most people seem to think so.
Christ walks around Seven Candlesticks (Types of Churches), in the first three Chapters of REVELATION.

SINCE CHRIST RECOGNIZES SEVEN TYPES OF CHURCHES,

WHO ARE WE TO RECOGNIZE LESS?

NOW, if you will post YOUR CHURCH's Doctrinal Statement of Faith; I will find and show you the EXACT same STATEMENTS in the Catholic Catechism. NOT THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN CATHOLIC, but at LEAST I have read their Catechism, while you have obviously have been making statements about Catholics without ever having read the Catholic Catechism, which IS what they Teach and Believe. So a lot of Catholics do not even KNOW their Catechism, why should that surprise you? I have found more Protestants who do not know their Doctrinal Statements of Faith, nor how to support those Statements Biblicially.

How Nikki84 can you call yourself a child of God when you believe Mary is equal to God?

Do you Catholics not Preach Mary was sinless? Do you Catholics not Preach Mary can hear and answer our Prayers? Do you Catholics not Preach we have to go through Mary to reach God???????

No Nikki84, you are not a Child of God. You are a child of Satan because you Preach Mary as being equal to God.

Reject Mary, reject the Satanic teaching of the Catholic Church, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and you too will enter into Heaven with us True Children of God!

Report all you want, i'm telling you the Truth. You really need to reject Mary and follow Jesus only. If you do not like the Truth in the Scriptures then why are you here? Are you here just to make problems? Are you here to promote the false teachings of the Catholic Church or are you here to learn the Truth?

If you are only here to promote the false teachings of the Catholic Church then you really need to leave. But if you are here to learn the Truth then you need to listen and accept the Truth in the Scriptures others here are teaching you.

Its your choice.

Yes, they were seven REAL Churches in western Turkey.

Yes, they were typical of the seven different types of Churches which can found throughout the Church-age.

Yes, each type of Church would Dominate a period of time in the Church-age, and are listed in the EXACT order that they really did Dominate.

Yes, we are nearly to the end of the Laodicean-age, and lukewarm Love for Christ, is the Dominate trait of the majority of Churches today.

I am telling the TRUTH, what YOU CALL "praying to Mary" is an ERROR in understanding on your part. In Seminary the Priests are actually taught it is only a form of intercessory prayer, as commanded in James:

James 5:16 (HCSB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The urgent request of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.

Since NO VERSE EVER SAID TO STOP ASKING A CHRISTIAN BROTHER OR SISTER TO PRAY FOR YOU, WHEN THEY DIE; THE CATHOLICS JUST KEEP ON ASKING IF THEY SO CHOOSE, AFTER THAT CHRISTIAN BROTHER OR SISTER DIES.

THAT IS, what the Priests are taught in Seminary, and therefore "praying to Mary" is in YOUR HEAD, not theirs. Granted they seem to do a poor job of expositing that theology from the Pulpit, but HEY, I have been in a LOT of Protestant Churches that do a very poor job of expositing theology too.

Confessing your sins to another is all about people who are around you, not dead people.

Mary died and is in the Grave. She cannot hear our prayers to her. Beside that which you pray to is your god.

This is the problem with Catholics today. They see no problem with praying to Mary as their god. When Catholics pray to Mary they are asking her to protect them. To keep them safe. To help them with their problems. All the years i spent in the Catholic Church, no one confessed their sins to Mary.

There VCO you are committing a Mortal sin every time you Pray to Mary. Is this what you really want? You do know you are Worshiping Mary every time you ask her to protect you.

Repent and turn away from Mary. Follow Jesus only and you too can enter into Heaven with me.

Every baby is involved in Adam's sin. Why do you think a baby dies? It is because he/she is caught up in Adam;s sin. The wages of sin is DEATH. The baby dies in in infancy, Therefore it has been involved in sin. otherwise it would not die.

Through one man's sin all died because all sinned (aorist). even those who had not sinned in the likeness of Adam's transgression,

we do not have to understand it, But if we believe Scripture we have to accept it
Is Gods righteousness offended by the innocence of a child? Offended by the innocence of a suckling baby?

David a man after Gods own heart said that he would see the child who died when David sinned with Bathsheba. Were God a legalist as your positions suggests then I would agree with your logic. God is a God of grace, a God of pity and mercy toward those who are unable to save themselves.

Let's separate physical death from Spiritual death. Yes babies and children die physically because of sin but you cannot say that they die Spiritually because you cannot know if they have transgressed against God.

Yours is a message of hopelessness and despair not one of reconciliation and peace through Christ's sacrifice on Calvary.

For the cause of Christ

The human spirit of Mary is in heaven, along with all born again people.

Psalm 146:4 (NKJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.

Abraham HEARD the Pleas from the rich man in Hades and carried on a Conversation with him.

Matthew 17:3 (ESV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.

Moses and Elijah, had NO PROBLEM HEARING and carrying on a Conversation, AFTER THEY WERE DEAD.

Revelation 6:9-11 (NKJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

The Tribulation Saints are HEARING and Crying Out with a loud voice.

So SHOW ME THE Chapter and Verse where it says the Human Spirit, CANNOT HEAR after the Body is Dead?

The above verses shows YOUR THEORY, that they cannot hear, and the so-called doctrine of Sleeping in the Grave to be TOTALLY FALSE. Seems to me you did not bother to really LEARN the Catholic Theology, and are basing your hatred for Catholics on the made up FALSE Beliefs YOU and others had, without doing the studying of Catholic Theology that you should have been doing to get your MISUNDERSTANDINGS corrected.

My wife was a prayer warrior, and she passed away last fall. I have no problem saying to myself, "Honey, please pray for me today, I am having a hard time with this." I am NOT PRAYING TO HER, I am simply asking her to pray for me. NOW MY PRAYERS always go to GO, sometimes I address them FATHER, some times LORD, and sometimes GOD; and sometimes I just carry on a friendly conversion with HIM, because I KNOW HE CARES FOR ME. I am comfortable with my relationship WITH HIM, and I have Peace with HIM. DO YOU? You seem to be too full of hate for the Catholics, to have PEACE with GOD.

Wasnt Moses and Elijah on the mount a vision?
So what Chapter and verse says that?

Matthew 17:1-6 (NKJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
[SUP]2 [/SUP] and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
[SUP]5 [/SUP] While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"
[SUP]6 [/SUP] And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.

I see absolutely NOTHING about a vision there. Behold means LOOK AT, and it says they APPEARED, not a vision appeared. PLUS IT SAYS THEY WERE TALKING TO HIM. That describes a REAL incident, as plain as the print on the page.

Do you also DOUBT the meaning of BEHOLD in this verse too?

Job 40:15-19 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] "Behold now, Behemoth, which I made as well as you; He eats grass like an ox.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] "Behold now, his strength in his loins And his power in the muscles of his belly.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] "He bends his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] "His bones are tubes of bronze; His limbs are like bars of iron.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] "He is the first of the ways of God; Let his maker bring near his sword.

Its in the verse you cut off. Let me highlight it for you.

Mat 17:3
And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

Mat 17:4
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

Mat 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Mat 17:6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

Mat 17:7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

Mat 17:8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

Mat 17:9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

Shows they appeared to them. Moses, Elijah, with Jesus speaking of his decease (in Luke 9:31) which he was to accomplished in Jerusalem, which is also what the law and the prophets had spoken of ( Luke 24:26-27, Acts 3:18).

And upon the mount the Father spoke to them out of the cloud just as Peter expressed the desire to build tabernacles after the pattern he was seeing on the mount, and perhaps thinking along the lines of Moses when he was upon the mount aforetime instructed to do so ( Ex 25:40, Heb 8:5). But here it would be for what the Lord pitched and not man Heb 8:2 even as Moses who wrote of Christ (John 5:46) was also a servant and testimony of the things that would be spoken of after (Heb 3:5). As God speaking by Moses testified of Christ and hearing him ( Duet 18:18) as He speaks the same in Mat 17:5 to hear his son. After the voice was passed they looked up and the two men who were with him (Moses and Elijah) vanish. The Law which come by Moses and Elijah as the law and the prophets prophesied until John who was Elijah Mat 11:13 for to come Mat 11:14. These two men (acccording to the vision) vanished after the Father had spoken (to hear his beloeved Son) and leaving Jesus alone ( even, the righteousness of God) without the law having been manifest and he himself being witnessed by the law and the prophets in the same. And they were charged to tell no man until Son of man was raised from the dead (Mat 17:9) when it is openly declared that he is the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4) and in that way did they speak of it as it was permitted them to do so at the time as they did so.

Mat 17:9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying,
Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

And after he was raised from the dead (Romans 1:4) they say, "BUT NOW"

Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested,
being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Which would seem to be a part of fulfilling, what is called "the vision of all" concerning Christ even,
He who cometh in the volume of the book

Isaiah 29:11
And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

The effect of every vision, the vision they saw on the mount was in accord with the vision of all (the law and the prophets)

Is Gods righteousness offended by the innocence of a child? Offended by the innocence of a suckling baby?
But that is the question. Does God per romans 5 see the child as innocent, He sees sin in ALL.

David a man after Gods own heart said that he would see the child who died when David sinned with Bathsheba.
he meant only that he would die, and go to Sheol (the grave world)

Were God a legalist as your positions suggests then I would agree with your logic.
GOD is the ultimate believer in the Law. He gave it.

God is a God of grace, a God of pity and mercy toward those who are unable to save themselves.
and that includes EVERYONE. But He does not save everyone.
Let's separate physical death from Spiritual death.
Spiritual death in the OT is a man made concept.

Yes babies and children die physically because of sin but you cannot say that they die Spiritually because you cannot know if they have transgressed against God.
I say NOTHING about children for GOD does not. But God said they died with Adam, and that is spiritual death in Roman 5.

Yours is a message of hopelessness and despair not one of reconciliation and peace through Christ's sacrifice on Calvary.
Mine is the message of romans 5 not a manmade philosophy like yours.

If any babe is saved, and I do not deny that some are saved, it is saved by the grace of God..

For the cause of Christ ??

true

Abraham HEARD the Pleas from the rich man
in Hades and carried on a Conversation with him.
o ta
Jesus was using Abraham as HIS mouthpiece. It is foolish take this story literally.

Matthew 17:3 (ESV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.

Moses and Elijah, had NO PROBLEM HEARING and carrying on a Conversation, AFTER THEY WERE DEAD.
since when was Elijah dead? or even Moses? But they were there for a special purpose. They were talking with GOD. not hearing someone and praying for someone,[

Saints are HEARING and Crying Out with a loud voice.
To GOD alone.

So SHOW ME THE Chapter and Verse where it says the Human Spirit, CANNOT HEAR after the Body is Dead?
Actually there are some in the OT. e,g, 'The dead know not anything.'

The above verses shows YOUR THEORY, that they cannot hear, and the so-called doctrine of Sleeping in the Grave to be TOTALLY FALSE.
I believe they can talk to God, not to men.

My wife was a prayer warrior, and she passed away last fall. I have no problem saying to myself, "Honey, please pray for me today, I am having a hard time with this." I am NOT PRAYING TO HER, I am simply asking her to pray for me.
pure speculation and sentimentality.

NOW MY PRAYERS always go to GOd, sometimes I address them FATHER, some times LORD, and sometimes GOD; and sometimes I just carry on a friendly conversion with HIM, because I KNOW HE CARES FOR ME. I am comfortable with my relationship WITH HIM, and I have Peace with HIM.
that is more Scriptural :)
