The story Jesus told of the rich man hiring workers at different times of the day and paying each of them the same wage. I had a friend in church who owned a business. He took this story to mean, once you're hired and agree to a wage, that is all you get. No pay raises, no bonuses. If you were hired for $10 an hour and worked for the company for 30 years, your pay should stay the same, $10 an hour. He raised his pay because he owned the company. The story only applied to workers, according to him.
