There are many, many True Christians who have done what Mother Teresa has done. But yet we do not hear of them. This is because they do it for the Lord, not to become a Saint like the Catholics do.

Its all about living our lives for God. Not for the glory like many Catholics do.

I guess you have not come across all the legalists here in the forums who constantly make us aware we are not as righteous as they are

Thankfully, Jesus uses RIGHTEOUS judgement when examining our hearts and not religious criteria

Matthew 7:21-23
[SUP]21 [/SUP] "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
[SUP]22 [/SUP] Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
[SUP]23 [/SUP] And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

There are MANY people in the World who will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven because they are doing the will of the Catholic Church.

That's not helping Xpert

Not everyone agrees with this bash Mother Theresa thread so how does your bashing of ALL Protestants come across?

Same way maybe?

I asked the question how many would do what she did a few miles back

Dont complain about ALL Protestants and then do what only SOME Protestants did

I'm not Catholic but I am against this type of attack thread wherein people shoot scripture like it somehow does not apply equally to them
I do realize that not all Protestants bash Mother Theresa. It's usually a fringe group that act this way. But I think the Protestants I was speaking about know who they are.

Do you think Mother Theresa embraced the destitute on the streets of Calcutta for her own glory? Do you think Saint Francis kissed the wounds of a leper for his own glory? How about Saint Damian, who moved into a leper colony, with the certainty that he would catch the disease, because he wanted to serve them when nobody else had the courage. Nobody does this type of work out of selfishness.

I'm afraid you have it all wrong, and you clearly don't know anything about the lives of Catholic saints. Go read about them. Read "Ten Christians" by Boniface Hanley for starters. You won't doubt the holiness of Catholic Saints after you read about their lives.

Do you not know that the Catholic Church believes and teaches Salvation is received by Faith and by Grace and by Good Works?

Working with the poor was her way of working for her salvation. She did it not because she loved the people, she did it to earn her way into Heaven. Its the same with Saint Francis. He did what he did to impress God and work his way into Heaven.

The Catholic Church adds works to a lot of Doctrines, whereas God says Faith and Grace ONLY!

You should try reading your whole Bible.

Romans 2:6-8 - For he will render to every man according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are factious and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness, there will be wrath and fury.

James 2:24: - You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.

It's true that we can't do good works apart from Gods grace, but they are none-the-less essential for our salvation.

And your claim that Catholic saints only did works to "impress" God is laughable. Perhaps you should spend less time accusing them in your vain attempt to score points against Catholicism, and more time learning from their examples.

Goodnewsman.....uh, your calling in life is not to run around labeling churches, pointing fingers, calling certain ones 'harlots" etc. Your calling is the same as God's heart: "That none should perish". Yes, people in general, or in large groups, continue to decide to ride down a wide super highway instead walking down a narrow way. However, the real enemy is satan....so ride the 'I hate satan" bandwagon for a while, cast him and his demons out, making them flee, take up your suit of armor and do battle against him and stop wasting time online doing nothing but condencention. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Anything NOT of faith is SIN....and that includes 'religions", denominations, and much more. Why continue to beat a dead horse? Why not try another tactic and invite the Holy Spirit into your situations where you run across someone who really needs to meet JESUS, face to face, like you claim to. Instead of telling them that their choice of worship is NOT the place to be...allow the Holy Spirit to do that while you pray, fast, share and act civil.

If she rejected Him...issue is there is no evidence that she did.
There might not be evidence but the Bible says that some people won't find eternal life:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.-Matthew 7:14

The Bible also says that the merciful shall receive mercy but then there also is this question of her refusing medical treatment to those in her care. So while the Bible says this:

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.-Matthew 5:6

It also says this:

New American Standard Bible
For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.-James 2:13

So it is kind of a mixed bag as she could be judged both ways. What I do think is that her life was a show before men :

Matthew 6:1 ¶ Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

The definition of alms is:

  1. mercy, pity
    1. esp. as exhibited in giving alms, charity
  2. the benefaction itself, a donation to the poor, alms

Blue Letter Bible - Lexicon

So basically on the things I have discussed, I will leave it up to God.
God is the one who makes the ultimate judgment.

Works are NEVER essential for receiving Salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-9
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
[SUP]9 [/SUP] not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Clearly God the Holy Spirit says Salvation is NOT received by Works. Its the fool who tries to work for their Salvation.

James in chapter 2:24 is NOT talking about Salvation, he is talking about Justification.

James 2:24
[SUP]24 [/SUP] You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Its our Justification we do works AND Faith, not Salvation.

This is a very good example of how the Catholics twist Scriptures to justify their doctrine of working for their Salvation. They actually see nothing wrong with twisting the Scriptures to fit their Doctrines.

XpertNovice i suggest you reread the Scripture in James and Ephesians asking the Holy Spirit to show you what He is saying. But i do know for a fact you will not do this because all you want to do is listen to deceiving spirits.

i agree with you and just wanted to add my own thoughts to all this. IMO i think many attack, works as well as following the law and commands, is just a way to justify their own lives. it makes it acceptable to turn your back on those in need and do it guilt free. now one can spend their lives laying on the couch, watching tv, doing nothing with thier lives, never thinking of anyone but themselves and its ok, because they have faith.

I do not need to follow the examples of the Catholics.

First of all i ONLY Worship and serve God. Catholics Worship and serve Mary also as one of their gods.

We do not turn our backs on those in need, BUT we do not do it to obtain Works for our Salvation like the Catholics do.

There is none so blind as the one who refuses to follow Jesus Christ only. You cannot say you follow Jesus while at the same time bowing down to Mary and praying the Rosary to her. All who do this will never be allowed to enter into Heaven jaybird88 because this is Idolatry.

You may not agree with what the Holy Spirit says in the Scriptures, but bowing down to Mary, praying the Hail Mary prayer, and praying the Rosary is Idolatry which will keep that person from entering into Heaven.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13
[SUP]9 [/SUP] I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner--not even to eat with such a person.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?
[SUP]13 [/SUP] But those who are outside God judges. Therefore "put away from yourselves the evil person."

Galatians 5:19-21
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
[SUP]20 [/SUP] idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
[SUP]21 [/SUP] envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.Bowing down to a statue of Mary is Idolatry. Praying the Hail Mary is Idolatry. Praying the Rosary is Idolatry.

The bottom line is this will keep any Catholic from entering into Heaven. You may not like it but this is what God has said.

Christ was the first fruits of the resurrection and the church is next. In between Christ and now, there has been no resurrection. Also, the word "Anastasis" translated resurrection always has to do with the body standing up again:
i agree, but don't you teach when a person dies, they immediately go to Heaven, how is that not a resurrection? They die leave their physical bodies, go to Heaven. How is that not a description of resurrection?

The original Post Question

[h=2]"Where Is Mother Teresa Now? "[/h]The bible tells where the dear are...so allow the bible to explain.

Where are the dead?
Gen. 3:19: “In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”
Eccl. 9:10: “All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol [“the grave,” KJ, Kx; “the world of the dead,” TEV], the place to which you are going.”

What is the condition of the dead?
Eccl. 9:5: “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.”
Ps. 146:4: “His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts [“thoughts,” KJ, 145:4 in Dy; “all his thinking,” NE; “plans,” RS, NAB] do perish.”
John 11:11-14: “‘Lazarus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep.’ . . . Jesus said to them outspokenly: ‘Lazarus has died.’” (Also Psalm 13:3)

Is there some part of man that lives on when the body dies?
Ezek. 18:4: “The soul [“soul,” RS, NE, KJ, Dy, Kx; “man,” JB; “person,” TEV] that is sinning—it itself will die.”
Isa. 53:12: “He poured out his soul [“soul,” RS, KJ, Dy; “life,” TEV; “himself,” JB, Kx, NAB] to the very death.” (Compare Matthew 26:38.)

So from the bible we see that she as well as millions of others have returned to the dust.

I won't judge her.
If she died a believer, she is with Jesus.
If she died rejecting Jesus she is banished forever from His presence.

Most of the quotes seemed like the angst of a poet expressing herself honestly.

Even David had expressed some similar struggles.
Of course we don't know that she may have made a last minute decision for Jesus. But during her life she spent a lot of time telling dying indians(India) to call upon the gods of their choice.

I hope she repented.

A prayer that begins with "God; if you're out there" is a prayer that does not
make it to heaven. In point of fact, James said that those kinds of prayers
reveal just how mixed up somebody really is.

†. Jas 1:5-8 . . If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to
all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask
in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven
and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive
anything from the Lord; he is a double minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Teresa's private letters written in secret to spiritual counselors reveal that
she actually prayed those kinds of prayers; and one of them went like this:
"If there be God-- please forgive me."

James said that people who pray iffy prayers should not expect a response
from God. You know why?

†. Heb 11:6 . .Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone
who comes to Him must believe that he exists.

Webster's defines "impossible" as: incapable of being, or of occurring.

Webster's defines "must" as an indispensable item; viz: essential.

Ironically, a demon's level of faith is actually superior to Teresa's. At least
they believe in the existence of God.

†. Jas 2:19-20 . . You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the
demons believe-- and tremble!

I simply cannot admire a "saint" whose iffy belief in the existence of God
doesn't even measure up to the quality of a demon's belief.

In reality, Teresa was an agnostic; which Webster's defines as one who is
not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of
God or a god. To her credit, Teresa did want a God to be out there, but her
utter failure to feel even the slightest glimmer of the Lord's presence
prevented her from being sure about it.

"I am told God loves me; and yet the reality of darkness & coldness &
emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul."

"The damned of Hell suffer eternal punishment because they experiment
with the loss of God. In my own soul, I feel the terrible pain of this loss. I
feel that God does not want me, that God is not God; and that He does not
really exist."

Right, there are many people that go about doing good, and claiming Christ, that never experience a relationship with Jesus, and sometimes it is because of the grave errors they believe, that takes away glory from God,which the Roman Catholic Church has grave errors taking away from the glory of God,like the reverence of Mary, and the reverence of the Pope, and other beliefs that causes them to not get close to God,but they do not understand that, thinking there is no wrong in the Roman Catholic Church.

But some people think those errors do not matter, for God loves people, who claim Jesus, which some wrongful beliefs will not hinder a person from making it to heaven, but some errors are serious causing them to not get close to Jesus,by honoring people, and objects, and not giving all glory to God.

It is not that God is not reaching out His hand to help them, but he cannot get close as long as people honor, and reverence, people, and things, and not giving Him the glory, that only goes to Him.

But of course she might of had doubt, coming from her own self, that caused her to waver in her belief, but being part of the Roman Catholic Church,it only made the feeling worse to not get close to Jesus.

Luk 10:38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
Luk 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
Luk 10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
Luk 10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
Luk 10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Jesus visited the house of Martha, which she went about serving, and Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, and listened to His word, which Martha complained to Jesus to tell her to help her,but Jesus said that it is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

So it does not matter if we labor 12 hours a day going about doing good, for if we do not have a personal relationship with Jesus,in the long run we will not benefit, for that is what matters is having a spiritual relationship with Jesus, although it is good to go about doing good, which pleases God,but does not please Him enough,if you do not have a spiritual relationship with Jesus.

I believe the way the Roman Catholic Church believes things, and gives reverence to people, and things, that is does not allow God to be close to them like He wants, for they do not give glory to Him like they should, giving glory to other things, and Mother Theresa felt this, but did not realize this, that it is because of the belief system that she was in,and she got more discouraged about it,which means she cared a great deal to be close to God,but could not sense it,and I believe God loved her very much, and was slapping her upside her head, and trying to pull her out of that system.

But she may of had doubt about the whole Christian business to begin with, but still pursued in it,but I believe a lot of people do not get close to God,because of what they believe that take away from God,instead of honoring Him.

The main point is how can one claim to be a True Christian following God when they see nothing wrong with praying to Mary as their god also!

Praying the Hail Mary makes Mary a god to those people. Praying the Rosary makes Mary a god also. Bowing down to a statue of Mary makes Mary a god to that person.

Its NOT about what we do in this life, its all about who do you worship that matters. Look at the thief on the cross, he did absolutely nothing in the way of "works", but yet he entered into Heaven with Jesus.

In the Catholic Church its all about our "works" and absolutely nothing about following God!

This is why most Catholics will never enter into Heaven.

yeah Ken that is just not even true

how many Catholics have you even known?

there are thousands who ARE saved...when and where did you check into the heart of a human being who loves God?

oh wait...you can't do that

I can't believe this inane thread has resurfaced...oh who am I kidding?

can you spell hatred? cause that is what I am reading in this thread

check out the threads right here and you will find people claiming enlightment in Christ who argue like it's Armageddon...now how does that please God?

Christians? bah...it's more like fight club
