I prefer understanding a passage in its context.
The context is the difference between the natural man and the spiritual man. The Gospel is for every creature, so that all may become spiritual instead of remaining natural. And that is by the power of the Holy Spirit.

“14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God (speaks of the individual who is not Born-Again): for they are foolishness unto him (a lack of understanding): neither can he know them (fallen man cannot understand Spiritual Truths), because they are spiritually discerned (only the Regenerated spirit of man can understand the things of the Spirit).

15 But he who is spiritual judges all things (portrays only the spiritual person as capable of proper judgment), yet he himself is judged of no man (refers to judgment which God will accept).” 1 Cor. 14-15

Natural in Hebrew means world.
Yes compared to spiritual man, supernaturally converted. The man who compares the spiritual understanding to the same spiritual understanding, Faith to faith as it is written . Hid from natural man (no faith)in the parables. In that way without parables Christ spoke not to the multitude, everyone.

God uses redeemed sinners to do His work. People object to authority and particularly do they object to the authority of the Word of God, which is why they strive so hard to change it wherever and whenever they can.

Redeemed sinners have personalities and they have experience drawn from life. In my case, I was a cultist that fell for a load of hogwash and was blindly on my way to hell. Well, someone got in my face and they told me my religion was out of the pits of hell. They really offended me. I guess if that all happened in 2018 I might have gone into some corner to cry my eyes out and call that soulwinner rude and mean. I do know that is the way with Millennials these days.

But I got saved. God reached down to where I was and used those harsh realities to bring me to repentance and eternal life.

Frankly, I don't care if I offend people with the truth. One wise preacher told me years ago that lost sinners need to get mad before the Holy Spirit can make them glad.

I'll tell you something . . . when sinners get angry . . . there is some conviction going on - now it remains to be seen if that conviction is going to bring them to the cross . . . or send them over in a corner where they can get cry their eyes out.

But then, the day that I was saved I did cry my tears . . . of joy and forgiveness. No one knows but me the load that fell off my shoulders that day . . . well, unless they have been through the new birth.

I have plenty of band aids for anyone that needs one. But then that just means that you only want to deal with the hurt and not heal the disease - of sin.

"Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful" (Proverbs 27:5-6).

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Paul here is contrasting man’s / worldly wisdom over godly wisdom. Man’s wisdom elevates excellency of speech and enticing of words (v1, v4) whereas the godly wisdom does the opposite. It is demonstration of Spirit and of power. The natural man refers to those who have heard the preaching of the gospel but do not want to receive the truth. In other words the preaching of the words of God is an utter foolishness to him and for this reason he cannot recognize spiritual things.

It's wonderful that you came to Christ, by any route. There is a danger in thinking that because "I" came to Christ a certain way, that it is "the right way". We each have our own testimony; mine is very different from yours and no less valid. Some people are turned off by one kind of messenger (and therefore don't hear the message) but hear it clearly from a different person with a different approach.
