It's simple really.

God has created a world of peace and happiness. It was never his intent for this world to be this way. The Devil does not love God, in fact he hates Him and has waged war against God and all of His creations - you, animals, the earth. The Devil is out to destroy you and God wants you to save you. To restore order in the universe, Sin and Satan must be destroyed! God has prepared a lake of fire for the Devil and his angels. God has presented before everyone the choice of life and death.

Follow God = Everlasting Live
Follow Satan = Everlasting Death

Hell is not intended for you but, if you choose to continue in a life of sin then Hell is your reward. Surrender your life to God and He has power to keep you and to save you.
i dont those were Satan reasons, i think rather that he wanted gods position.basically(in my beliefs) hell was created as a prison for Satan and his demons, and they will be tormented forever because in hell (or Gehenna, a trash dump) Satan will be like trash, subject to contempt and shame, tormented because he wants the throne but know that he will never get it, but is now the lowest of the low. god wants all to come to repentance and have eternal life, but because some wont repent he will throw the wicked into the everlasting(Matthew 25:41), consuming(psalm 21:9) fire, prepared for the devil and his angels(Matthew 25:41), where they will turn to ashes(Malachi 4:3) and be as though they never were(Obadiah 16).(now you may be asking why if the humans are turned to ashes and destroyed why Satan and his angels wont be, the answer is simple, angels arent affected by fire(exodus 3:2, you will notice the angel is not writhing in pain))
