Why is there such a place for souls to go if they refuse to believe that an "omniprescent" being who makes his presence vague? Why does he make it such a challenge? If he loves us so much, why can't we all have heaven? Why do we get 60-70 years to determine forever? Wouldn't he want to destroy a terrible place such as hell and an evil angel such as Satan? He has the power.

This is one of the points I held in my heart until I felt I had any understanding whatsoever. I learned to do this from Mary, the most blessed woman ever.
In one place in the Word, it is prophesied in the latter times "those who loved evil" will believe lies. Notice loved is in the past tense indicating they had chosen evil over good.
When judgment comes for those who have not claimed the free salvation from God in Jesus, there will be books opened on each soul, and they will be judged by their own deeds and love. Those who loved evil will judge themselves as either not worthy or not wanting to be with Love, and God IS Love.
With these teachings it occurs to me that, yes people will be judged and separated from God and His children forever but by their own choice. They will yet not want anything to do with YHWH, just as Satan only wanted to be in heaven as the supreme being with no respect of his Maker, so will it be with his followers. This comforts me, but I by no means would purport I know this to be true, however in my brief time here in this age, I have encountered many who seem to me to not want to have anything to do with Love or with anyone who loves and worships Love.
Again YHWH is love, and one thing all creatures must come to grips with is the simple reality that the Creator is all knowing, not the creature, and He made all creatures in love. Beginning with that thought pursuing His will becomes foremost in the desire of all His children. He is so good all of the time. Remember we do not know much at all, but in faith we all know much more than sufficient for walking the Way He has given us.

Your spot on and right. IT'S A SICK DOCTRINE OF THE SICK MIND OF MAN. Hell is a miss translation of the words use it the bible. THE OH YOU BETTER WHORSHIP ME OR I DO YOU FOREVER IS AND INSULT TO GOD'S NATURE. they will come and quote vers backing there doctrine but if the foundation is wrong there quotes are wrong.

Thinkerman88 does not like what the Bible teaches concerning hell, so he chooses to reject Christ and not believe he exists.

You also do not like what the Bible teaches concerning hell,
The only difference between you and him, you choose to believe He exists, yet still reject him.

Your rejection puts you right there with him, at least he is not trying to have his cake and eat it too.

The gifts and calling of GOD are without repentance, meaning HE does not take them back; therefore, since HE gave Adam the earth to have dominion over, HE has yet to take it back. This present world is a product of man and his sinfulness, but the LORD will wipe it out at the proper time and create a new one. Amen

Considering your questions, i would say you have more reading and thinking to do to fully understand what GOD is doing and why HE is doing it.

Thinkerman: You say if we would let you run things you would do it a lot better than God is doing.

After the kids were grown, I joking told them all that if they would just let me run their life it would be better for them. They just laughed at me. Perhaps God is laughing at you.

I realize that evil is allowed in this world, it makes life extremely tough to live here sometimes. There is also all the things of the spirit in this world that makes it just as beautiful as the sin, sickness, and dark things make it tough.

You have decided to put your trust in yourself and your judgment. Like the English say, bully for you. God works, you don’t. Sorry.

God has a world after this one where sin isn’t part of it. It is easy to accept that, just give up having to create your own world. Come join us? God can’t live with sin, but God forgives it and gives us a way to clean it from our being. It doesn’t always make life easy to manage, but it lets in the beauty of it and when we clean ourselves daily through what Christ did those three days after the crucifixion, we can live in a life without the sin of this world for a lot longer than this one lasts.

Here the a sample of the mind set I'm talking about.
1. It's a parable never base your doctrine on one.
2. have you ever study fire in the bible? Firer is a good thing god uses it to refine ones being into a higher state.
3. Opps I don't see the word forever in the parable.
I SURJEST YOU GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND LEARN TO READ.

I don’t think people understand hell, and therefore misrepresent it. I believe hell is the natural consequence of our sin. We experience it each time we sin. The way to make it go away is to stop sinning.

Why the h&ll not? :D

Ok ok, sorry, couldn't resist!

There must always be a balance between good & evil, light and darkness.
If there was no hell, there would be no point to live life by free will.

Cheers, and have a helluva good day! :D

Ok ok ok... that was the last one. ;)

Thank you for the "suggestion"...............

What does forever have to do with it?

Consider this:

11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire

and thats all you got out of it right?
Out of that post? Yeah.

I do agree with some of the other stuff you were trying to say, though.

I think being overly focused on hell turns Christianity into a religion of fear and coercion. Believe in me...OR ELSE.

That has not been my personal experience with the Lord. I serve because I want to- because He is good and He loves me and He keeps His promises to me, not because I'm afraid not to.

It is on the point of fear/hell that I become frustrated with Catholics. I've never met a former-Catholic-turned-atheist that didn't cite faith by coercion as their main reason for hating Christianity. They feel as though when they walk away from God, they have undone shackles of oppression. They see God as a monster (even in their refusal to even believe in Him).

I don't think it's JUST Catholics who focus on fear and punishment, but they seem to produce the angriest and most outspoken atheists.

(For the record, I have met some Catholics who aren't scared of death and hell...I know you don't HAVE TO BE a pile of frayed nerves to be a Catholic. It just seems that many are.)

When you give in to temptation, life becomes very unpleasant.

When you refrain from giving in to temptation, life becomes very beautiful (not without its challenges, but beautiful).

This all stems from a lack of understanding what hell' is; and understanding Christ parables. I will work on a full response with scripture.
But to ramble on it for the moment. You have to remember that concerning this and all things,. God is fair. and Just. Everyone is given one chance, and a full one at that. Those that do not have a chance now, will have it when Christ returns for The Lord's Day, in which He will be here a thousand year, to teach. No one has been cast into hell yet as written, not even Satan has been put into hell as written, and he is the worst. Anti-Christ has not arrived yet, The Lords Day has not happened yet. And the great white throne Judgment has not happened yet. This is to prevent the state we are in now, for it not to happen again. What Kind of a eternity will we have , with people that don't want to be there, only to cause trouble as Satan did? hell as its taught, is a turning of ones soul to ashes meaning forever. A death that there is no coming back from, a blotting out of existence. We have a loving God, and the burning forever text we read are parables for teaching....., I'll work on a post that gives all the scripture to support this. in the mean time, I would look into it yourself.

It's such a challenge because the reward is worth every bit and more. Hell is there to punish the wicked. Isn't that worse than destroying someone? Heaven and Hell are a choice we have. If I love someone, I want them to be free to choose. When someone chooses of their own free will to be friends with me, it is much more significant than if I would force them to be my friend. Adam and Eve had a choice. They could have had all they would ever want and need. All they had to do was everything that God wanted and nothing they wanted. I do not mean that His decisions are wrong. I mean following Him completely would not have allowed Adam and Eve to try new things and take a chance of making a mistake. They would never have made any mistakes since they would not have been given a choice about what they might do. They would have had to do only what they were told to do by God.

This is the price we are paying for freedom. We decide what we want to do. So, there is a choice. Heaven is the reward if you follow Christ. Who, by the way, since we had to make our own decisions, had to suffer and die for us just to give us the chance to get to heaven. We are so wicked, without Him we could not even have hope in getting to heaven. That is how good God is. That is how much he hates evil. That is how much He loves us.

But, what he hates more is luke warm devotion. He spits those folks out of His mouth because they have not made a commitment to evil or to good.

There is the love of God. He loves us soooo much, He gave His only Son as an umblemished perfect Lamb to sacrifice for our sins, just as the Israelites sacrificed the best lamb in the herd for atonement. Jesus Christ personally died for you! Jesus Christ personally let himself be beaten, spit on, cursed and nailed to a chunk of wood. He hung there naked. He hung their because the people who said they were on His side and promised they would serve Him betrayed Him. I don't mean Judas but, the nation of which He came to save. We now are all part of that nation since we believe and are saved, so I point the finger at myself also. My sins crucified Jesus. How could I turn my back on such a perfect gift. Salvation!

Betrayal without all the other stuff is horrible. He is our Savior! How could we look to anything else.

Through Jesus we can get to heaven. It is there for us to take! All we have to do is believe in and follow Jesus. Know He is our Savior. Try to live as he taught. Love the Lord, your God with all your heart. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. These are the greatest commandments. All of the rest are based on these.

Sorry for the rant. It just came out of nowhere.

Thanks for listening, uh reading.

if the evil go to heaven then they will be making heaven just like this earth, the point of this lifetime is (to my understanding) a test to tell whether we are righteous or wicked, if one is wicked they will be thrown into the lake of fire, which is the second death, now you may be saying "but its against gods nature to destroy people even if they go against him, and even further, why does it have to be death by fire, thats one of the most painful ways to die" the fire i would answer by saying its the most efficient way(i doubt god is going to want to wait around for billions of people to get executed, one by one, by a guillotine or anything like that) and the bible agrees that it is not in gods nature to destroy the wicked! for god takes "no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the sovereign lord, repent and live"(Ezekiel 18:23) however he will still do this, as Isiah puts it it is "his strange work, and his task, his alien task"(Isiah 28:21)

God's ways and thoughts, are higher than ours. The Almighty God knows what He's doing and why. We all have questions of why this and that, but when we stand before Him, and we all will. We will forget all those questions and just be thankful, if we don't let those questions keep us from accepting, what the Father wills.

first off, lol at the typo, most embarrassing place you could have possibly made one. second off, did the fire of Sodom and Gomorrah raise it to a higher state or destroy it? what about edom? Jude 1:7 says that Sodom and Gomorrah are examples of what will happen to those cast into the eternal fire, as does 2 peter 2:6. what about god is he a refining or consuming fire? or the fires of hell? do they consume and devour or do they refine?(revelation 20:9,psalm 21:9) and the parable isnt even about hell, Jesus was teaching against the pharisees, why do you think he used the name Lazarus and said that even if Lazarus raises from the dead the brothers of the rich man(who represented the pharisees)? because a man named Lazarus did raise from the dead and the pharisees still didn't believe!

It's simple really.

God has created a world of peace and happiness. It was never his intent for this world to be this way. The Devil does not love God, in fact he hates Him and has waged war against God and all of His creations - you, animals, the earth. The Devil is out to destroy you and God wants you to save you. To restore order in the universe, Sin and Satan must be destroyed! God has prepared a lake of fire for the Devil and his angels. God has presented before everyone the choice of life and death.

Follow God = Everlasting Live
Follow Satan = Everlasting Death

Hell is not intended for you but, if you choose to continue in a life of sin then Hell is your reward. Surrender your life to God and He has power to keep you and to save you.
