Why I keep the Sabbath FYI.

But neither you nor go tine relies on the holy spirit to lead you into truth, you both hinge everything on the literal letter.
This is a pretty bold statement to make :) . How do you know this? Because I like to quote the Bible? My friend without the Bible the Christian religion will be a free for all. With the Bible we could narrow it down to 30,000+ denominations.

The Pharisees of Jesus day knew the literal letter inside out( I am not saying you are a pharisee) but that didn't mean the knew the truth does it
You both rely on the literal letter to know Gods laws, yet it is clear as day written that law has been placed within you.
You are absolutely right they did know the law inside out and that is why Jesus said we should do as they say but not do what they do. They were corrupting the Torah with the Talmud, and that is mixing the seeds. God hates it if we mix the seed. That is why Jesus was so outspoken about it :)

Therefore if the holy spirit was leading you both you wouldn't rely on the literal letter to know what sin is would you.
So of course go time is dumbfounded as to why he and I see things so differently. He has a religion of looking to the literal letter i have one of relying on the holy spirit to reveal the truth of what that letter contains.
It isn't about being better than anyone else, but who or what you rely on in the faith
No he is dumbfounded because he has the knowledge of God given to him by studying the word of God and guidance from the Holy Spirit. We can't have the one without the other. Yes the Spirit will guide us but the Bible teach us that there is a false holy spirit working on earth. If you don't have the knowledge (of the Bible) you will not be able to distinguish. Jesus even said that people will be healed in his name but He will not acknowledge the person doing it. He will send him away with the words "I never knew you".

So a relationship with the Holy Spirit is important but you need knowledge to distinguish the spirits my friend. Our fight is not against flesh but against the spirits. We can be deceived in the spirit without Biblical knowledge.

Do you agree with go time in that a person can dwell with God in heaven without firstly having received eternal life? Just wondered. Do you believe he got that knowledge through studying the word?

I know you don't rely on the holy spirit to lead you into truth. I gave you an example as to why that was. I wont repeat it, cant copy paste at the moment I am on a mobile.

BTW there are 30,000 plus denominations because people read the bible and come to their own interpretation of it, rather than relying on the holy spirit to lead them into truth.
I repeat, it is not enough to just read and study the literal letter, the Pharisees did that, so have Mormons, jws and muslims

The reason i keep the Sabbath is because Jesus did. Jesus never said the Sabbath died on the cross with Him. So telling others that the Sabbath is a work when its a rest does not make sense. Teaching against the Word is foolish.

Which day of the week is the biblical Sabbath? Many are confused over the issue, but such confusion is unnecessary. Not only is the answer plain from history and the Bible, it is also clear from the names for the seventh day of the week, Saturday, in many languages.
For example, the Spanish word for the seventh day of the week, Saturday, is sabado— the same word for “Sabbath.” In fact, in more than 100 ancient and modern languages the seventh day of the week was named “Sabbath” or its equivalent. Following is a list of names for the seventh day of the week, Saturday, in 24 languages in which the root word Sabbath is still easily recognizable.
Such widespread use of forms of the word Sabbath for the seventh day of the week, Saturday, is clear evidence that speakers of these languages understood which day is the Sabbath.
Likewise, the fact that in no language do we see “Sabbath” similarly linked with Sunday, the first day of the week, is an obvious confirmation that this day never was considered the biblical Sabbath until later religious leaders tried to substitute Sunday for the true Sabbath day.

I actually don't understand what you are asking because I didn't read the full conversation between you and Gotime.

You can think you know what you think to know but that my relationship with God is not between James and God :)

And you will have 29,999 denominations telling you you are wrong.

Without the Bible to back you up you have 1/30,000 chance to be correct. That is a 0.003% chance of being right without the Bible. Good odds :)

I can tell you the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses and Jews are wrong because I can show them from the Bible. What are you going to tell them? The Holy Spirit told me :) I am sure you will have good results...

And they will quote the literal letter to you to tell you you are wrong

But the difference between you and me is huge, and we cannot both be right
As i have read the bible and have the views I do, you must believe I am in open rebellion against God and committing wilfull sin without conscience every week. Can you accept that must be true according to your belief through studying the bible

I know I am not in open rebellion before God on this issue and have no conscience I sin by not following what you insist I must follow.
We cannot both be right, one of us is completely wrong and therefore not being led of the holy spirit into truth. Ons of us doesn't understand the true message

Yes, but I will show it to them black on white :) what are you going to show them? The goose bumps on your arm... And after I have showed it to them black on white I can dust my feet of

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

So what verses in the Bible are relevant to modern day Christians?

Where the law is concerned the following:

This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.’[SUP][b][/SUP][SUP]17 [/SUP]Then he adds:
‘Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more Heb 10:16&17

Now that is what is written in the bible you insist we study and follow

So if you share the gospel do you tell people it is a free for all as long as the Holy Spirit don't convict them?

The following are your words from post 335 in the other thread we debated this on. I can probably go and get more of your comments if needed. But as you kept changing your beliefs it may become confusing. You wrote:

Ok I get that but how do you jump from eternal life to heaven. The two are not intertwined.

where does it say one must have eternal life in order to enter heaven?

Elijah had life and he in fact never saw death but was taken into heaven as it is written in the scriptures. Did he not have eternal life based on faith in what Christ would do?

I have found the people who believe in a free for all apart from the legalistic law are people who concentrate on the literal letter to know how God wants them to live

I did explain to you I know three people who go to church on a Saturday who have multiple affairs while joining in enthusiastically the church services, and they all take the Lords name in vain without conscience, laughing as they do so. I would call that a free for all, wouldn't you?
