Well a pastor who does not correctly understand the word repentance and what it means in the original Greek is already off on the wrong track.
Here is what they have posted which is wrong

"Repentance is to leave the sin
That we had loved before
and show that we are grieved by it
by doing it no more"
This is a biblical statement supported by Jonah's preaching to Niniveh which Jesus linked to the cross
and salvation.
To not agree with this is to not know Jesus or the Father.
No matter the spiritual experiences around faith, this is the foundation of the gospel.
8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9
Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and
he will lift you up.
James 4
9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because
your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us.
10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.
11 See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.
2 Cor 7
21 "But
if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and
does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.
22 None of the offenses he has committed will be remembered against him. Because of the righteous things he has done, he will live.
Eze 18
10 For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.
11
He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of
the Lord is against those who do evil."
1 Peter 3
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God.
Let them give up their evil ways and their violence.
9 Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish."
Jonah 3
