No Willie-T. I started to notice i had memory losses when i was 20 years old. But back then no one in my family would ever talk about it. Every time i brought it up they would always change the subject.

Even when i was older in my 30's 40's 50's they still refused to answer my questions.

It was only by threatening to leave the family forever that my sister finally told me why i had the memory loss.

Its not something just popped up lately that made me question missing memories. It has been a 40 year battle with my family!

See this is why i was so afraid of asking for help here is because of people like Willie-T who would rather condemn then help. He has no compassion for those who suffer.....sigh
No, I don't. Not when they try to garner sympathy instead of truly looking for answers. I cut my clients off from their BS on a consistent basis. I won't change that because you may have gotten some misguided people to feel they are helping you by telling you what a rough life poor little you has to deal with.

One of the people here who really called it like it is........ JesusLives, said it plain. Yeah, most of us got dealt a crappy hand somewhere back down the road. But that was then, and this is now.

We are here, now, in this place to take Jesus' hand and "forgetting the past" learn to stand on our own two feet, and walk forward.... NOT to keep looking back.

Sorry. But its very hard trust anyone. Its too painful to let people in. Every time i try to i freak out and have a panic attack. Sorry for the deception. My first objective is to keep me safe, otherwise i may not survive.

No problem here. And, though you may not want to hear it, I will still be me. But I will listen if you need to tell me to shut up for awhile.

(And thank you, Oncefallen... it was a good move.)

If Mike/Ken has DID then he will have memory loss. I have studied this quite a bit, since I know someone like this. This person is very smart, but can never remember anything. This might be because of the effort the brain has to put in going from personality to personality. Or that the core personality blocks the other personalities from remembering things.

By the way, DID does not necessarily have giant personality changes. They can be subtle, which makes it very difficult to diagnose. I'm not saying Mike/Ken has DID, but just that Tourist was right about Multiple Personality Disorder (not "split personality) having memory loss as one of its symptoms.

Again, the catch is that DID is caused by sexual abuse in childhood. So it is likely the abuse caused the DID, in order to hide the painful memories. Mike, has any professional ever asked you about this possibility?

No, they have not. Another question to be pondered. Yes i will look it up.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Now it does make sense! The last time i saw a Professional for help he insisted i keep a book of everything i did with times and locations listed!

I do not remember what ever happen to that book? But it does make sense why they sometimes ask me to keep a log of time for everything i do.

Another venue to be explored. Thank you!

Exactly right. Most folks may not realize how DID works. God created a defense mechanism to enable children to survive blunt force emotional and physical trauma by allowing a mental compartment, a safe place the victim can retreat to during the abuse. While in this mental state there is memory loss. This defense mechanism has been used by the enemy in the form of satanic ritualistic abuse (SRA) which is used on certain subjects to create what are known as "alters" which are controlled by handlers.

Ken I PM'd you some information that may be helpful.
