Gal 3:
[SUP]19 [/SUP]What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. [SUP]20 [/SUP]Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.

[SUP]21 [/SUP]Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. [SUP]22 [/SUP]But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. [SUP]23 [/SUP]But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. [SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [SUP]25 [/SUP]But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Sins were forgiven but not cleared, not taken away. Are you denying Leviticus 19?

Leviticus 19:21-22
21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

They certainly were not permanently forgiven. If they were, there would be no need to continually sacrifice.

If they are not cleared, or "taken away" as Hebrews 10:4 says, then they are damned.

Do you deny those saved in Old Testament times were saved through faith in the Messiah?

Absolutely! Not one OT saint was "looking forward" to the cross. The cross was in mystery form until after the resurrection. Then and only then did the Lord start opening man's understanding.

Those OT saints had to be obedient to the law. And by keeping the law did not bring salvation to the soul. The best those sacrifices could do is take the OT saint to Abraham's bosom upon death until the blood of Christ could wash away their sins.

False...............

a. 1st promise of a redeemer Genesis 3:15
b. Abel understood and by faith offered blood
c. Abraham offered Isaac which pointed to Christ
d. Moses and the institution of the passover
e. Moses lifted the serpent
f. David's innocent firstborn taking his place
g. JOB knew his redeemer lived and he would see him with his own eyes
h. The Priesthood of Melchizedek
I. ETC.

and the BIGGIE which destroys your view.....

JESUS said, "Search the scriptures for they are they which testifies of me" The N.T. was not written at that time and grace is found WOVEN throughout the O.T.....only those addicted to some law keeping drivel cannot see the obvious truth that O.T. saints were saved by grace through faith into the coming messiah

All types and shadows but none believed upon the death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins. The Scriptures testify of these things, but none understood until after.

Why did the OT saints have to obey the law? Why the animal sacrifices of atonement? Atonement for what?

Leviticus 19:21-22
21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

If one did not bring their trespass offering unto the Lord through the priest to make atonement for his sin, his sin would not be forgiven. He would be cut off from God and the promises to Israel.

they no more had to be obedient than you or I. The fact is neither they or you or I can keep the law. thus they SHOULD have been lead by the same schoolmaster.

We know David was when he claimed sacrifice and burnt offering you did not desire. He understood grace.. According to the law. David should have been stoned, and under the curse of death (spiritual)

FALSE again (concerning your view on Jesus being crucified)

Of the best-known prophecies in the Hebrew Scriptures concerning the death of Messiah, Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53 certainly stand out. Psalm 22 is especially amazing since it predicted numerous separate elements about Jesus’ crucifixion a thousand years before Jesus was crucified. Here are some examples. Messiah will have His hands and His feet “pierced” through (Psalm 22:16 ; John 20:25). The Messiah’s bones will not be broken (a person’s legs were usually broken after being crucified to speed up their death) (Psalm 22:17 ; John 19:33). Men will cast lots for Messiah’s clothing (Psalm 22:18 ; Matthew 27:35).

Concerning his resurrection

[FONT=&quot]In addition to the death of the Jewish Messiah, His resurrection from the dead is also foretold. The clearest and best known of the resurrection prophecies is the one penned by Israel’s King David in Psalm 16:10[/FONT][FONT=&quot], also written a millennium before the birth of Jesus: “For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.”

JOB also had insight into the resurrection.....[/FONT]

Love to hear your take on the following passages:

Leviticus 19:21-22
21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Yet David entered into the holy place without fulfilling the law, and then ate the shewbread.
Yet he wasn’t condemned by the law.

That could only have happened by David walking by faith trusting in the grace of God, since David had no legal right by law to do so.

Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

Abraham knew that Isaac was the child of promise as Jesus is also.
He knew Isaac was a walking dead son for three days as he traveled to Mt. Moriah.
He saw Isaac carry the wood up the mountain like Jesus would the wooden cross.
He found the ram caught in the thicket as the sacrifice that replaced his son.
He knew that Isaac was his only begotten son born of his faith, as Jesus was God’s only begotten Son.
He knew God had the power of resurrection and must resurrect to keep his promises.

I think that it is but presumption to assume that Abraham was ignorant of God’s gospel plan.

Rachel wept for her children at Bethlehem that died when Jesus was born.
How did she do that without knowledge?

Exactly! Those sacrifices could bring temporary forgiveness but their sins were not cleared. Therefore, they could not enter into God's presence upon death but Abraham's bosom.

Not buying your take.....Job knew of and understood the resurrection, his redeemer and it is foolish to think that the O.T. saints were not saved by faith into the coming Messiah and his sacrifice for sins....the scape goat, the whole burnt offering, the shedding of blood, the red Heifer, etc.....No way your ever going convince me that those who exercised faith had no clue about the coming Messiah......even the Pharisees KNEW OF and talked about the expediency of ONE man dying for the nation......wow!

They were saved by grace. Not because of the sacrifices. Ninivah was saved, They did not offer sacrifice.

The law was a teaching tool. As I showed. David understood it. as did many others. It did not forgive sin. Many people offered sacrifice who was never forgiven, and the high priests throughout the years made offering once a year as required and it did not help him or anyone one but (the high priest was offering the sacrifice the day Jesus died)

They were symbolic. they were always supposed to be symbolic the people twisted it to mean something else.

Leviticus 4
1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering.
4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the Lord.
5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, before the vail of the sanctuary.
7 And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
8 And he shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
9 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away,
10 As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.
11 And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung,
12 Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.
13 And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;
14 When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation.
15 And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before the Lord: and the bullock shall be killed before the Lord.
16 And the priest that is anointed shall bring of the bullock's blood to the tabernacle of the congregation:
17 And the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, even before the vail.
18 And he shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before the Lord, that is in the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
19 And he shall take all his fat from him, and burn it upon the altar.
20 And he shall do with the bullock as he did with the bullock for a sin offering, so shall he do with this: and the priest shall make an atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.
21 And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn him as he burned the first bullock: it is a sin offering for the congregation.
22 When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;
23 Or if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, come to his knowledge; he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish:
24 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the Lord: it is a sin offering.
25 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out his blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering.
26 And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall make an atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.
27 And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lordconcerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;
28 Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.
29 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
30 And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.
31 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the Lord; and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
32 And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish.
33 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering.
34 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar:
35 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lord: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.

In the OT times a man had his sins forgiven through the Levitical system God set up for the nation of Israel. Their sins were forgiven but not forgotten. Their sins were forgiven but not cleared.

Exodus 34
6 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Under the NT, man's sins are forgiven and taken away, washed with the blood of Jesus Christ, never to be remembered.

Hebrews 10
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

These passages were prophetic in nature and the writer's did not have complete understanding of what God was showing them because it was not ministering to them but those to come. See 1 Peter 1.

In the Generations of ADAM, the meanings of the names to Noah gives us a prophetic verse telling all about a messiah to come.

"Man Appointed Mortal Sorrow (but) The Blessed GOD Shall Come Down Teaching His Death Shall Bring the Despairing Rest (or) Comfort

("EMPHASIS ADDED")

Daniel in His Prophecies gave the exact day that Jesus would ride into Jerusalem. Jesus wept as He came into Jerusalem knowing that because they did not know of this day, theyn (nation of Israel) would be blinded and placed in diaspora. Here, He expected them to know that He was on His way and the Exact day He would be there.

Those OT saints had to be obedient to the law. And by keeping the law did not bring salvation to the soul. The best those sacrifices could do is take the OT saint to Abraham's bosom upon death until the blood of Christ could wash away their sins.
First off, no one could keep the Law - not even the Jews to whom it was given.

And two: You are advocating a second chance after death.

If they were not completely saved at the moment of death, then they are lost.
