If anyone thinks their God has horns then obviously their God is really the horned goat aka the devil.
No need to avoid stating the obvious.

...Do you honestly think that Satan literally has horns?

i dont know what the devil looks like. But given that the bible describes creatures God has created with animal-like and human-like features, I'd say it's possible. I doubt satan is merely an orb of light.

You don't maybe think that it was all a metaphorical description of Lucifer?

Think about it, man, Lucifer is (supposedly) a being of a nature that far surpasses anything that we can even begin to fathom. There is no reason to assume that Lucifer even has a physical form, and if he does, would he be restricted to a single one?

Wicca is a religion that focuses on nature spirituality. Their god is depicted with horns as an allusion to Pan, the prototypical nature god.

We think of Satan looking like Pan because the church associated the two in the middle ages as propaganda against the ancient pagan religions. Scripture doesn't actually describe the adversary except by metaphor--an angel of light, a roaring lion, a dragon.

The only thing at work here is an irrational fear of the unknown.

Xenophobia, the killer of men, felled tree in the path of enlightenment and knowledge, destroyer of progress of humanity as a whole.
Quoted for truth.

You claim the horned goat does not represent satan. So can you show where the horned goat represents God or Christ? If not, between two alternatives, God or satan, which one is it more likely to represent?

Whichever one you so choose, we don't know what either of them look like. I can use a rooster to represent God and a cantaloupe for Lucifer, it's not going to make any difference.

I'd actually think satan looks likes an angel.

Today my younger sister informed me that she does not believe in Jesus as the son of God. She believes he exsited, and was a good man ,but was glorified for political reasons. She believes in God, but also believes we are God also. The main reason she has rejected Jesus is because of all the judgement and bad treatment by other christians.
Despite the fact that we all have to choose wether we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior, I believe as christians we need to examine ourselves and consider the what and why many, are walking away from Jesus. I do believe that much of the reason is the turn towards the antichrist. But if so many are saying the same reason why they leave the christian church.... maby we as christians need to be more agressive in correcting the issues that has dissallusioned so many. The statement I hear too often is judgement and the lack of love. I think the first step would be for all of us in Jesus to pray, often. That the Holy Spirit will guide us grant us the wisdom and the love to bring healing to all injured in the name of christianity.
May Jesus, God Our Father through his Holy Spirit grant us the wisdom, humility and love to witness in healing this calamity.
With love, God bless. pickles

Who cares if Wiccas worship the horned god who bares resemblance to what we think Satan might look like? Who cares if buddists and muslims and native americans and whoever else who worship strange dieties? What we should care about is that they AREN'T worshipping God and that it's our duty to try to reach out to them.
This is it exactly, you can discuss the specifcs of Wicca and make blanket statements about who or what they worship but as long as you know the basic ideas behind their faith then you can address them about their faith and try and reach out to them.

As for whether or not they worship the devil, there are positive elements in Wiccan belief and while there may be some similar associations between them and Satanists that does not mean they hold to the same beliefs, they may be on the wrong path but to call them devil worshippers is harsh, it's about what they believe and what they do, not thin associations you can find between them and other groups.

I don't think most present day wiccans actively worship satan. however, There is no doubt in my mind that satan takes part in what they do, simply because I believe all spiritual power come either from God or from satan, and that nothing is netural in the spirit-world.

Objects of magic ARE evil... or, they attract evil, rather. Since evil powers will always seek for any way in, if you give them a chance, they will take advantage of it. be it quija- boards, dreamcaychers, telling fortuens by the help of spirits and so on...

I am so sorry about your sister. I too, have questioned Christianity because of its "followers" ability to be more hateful than the world. Luckily, God revealed himself to me and showed me I dont need other people to tell me what Christianity is all about.

The problem with Christians can be summed up in one sentence: No love. No love for non Christians and no love for other Christians with a difference of opinion.

Hey, the world is willing to love you more than Christians. At least the world has an "open mind" about it.

PS I'll pray for your sister.

Wow, Pickles, I'm so sorry to hear that, but to give you some hope, I once said those EXACT same words. After dabbling in Wicca and then some druidism, I got spooked bad, stopped trying religion out all together, and then finally made my way back to Christ. At least she's willing to accept that Jesus was real and that God exists, because those two facts will work wonders in her heart.

Okay, so think about this. I have a friend that's a Wiccan (Though I don't see her that much anymore). I asked her to goto a church(Actually the Christian club at school, but close enough) with me, she didn't want to go with me because of the way she was treated at the last church she went to. If the people at that church didn't treat her like crap, she might be fully a Christian today and not just wiccan/Christian mix. Because of those guys at that church she may not become what God wants her to become, she could have been one of those Christians to save millions of people. All of because of those Christian at her old church didn't show her love, and made her feel welcome. Think about it the next time not showing someone love because of how they look, or what they believe in now. I'm not saying I'm perfect btw. :p But it still gives you something to think about.

I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.
14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

I used this reference to show my belief on the matter at hand, how it came to be. I believe that any belief that is not based on Jehova Host of Hosts and his Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, is an attempt by Satan/Lucifer to confuse and mislead the Nations. Wiccans believe in themselves, idols and some unamed God called "the one?" maybe?. I believe that the creators of Wicca(and many other blasphemous religions) reasoned among themselves that they wanted the Kingdom of God, they were worthy of worship, hence the self worship and idolatry, that they too are Gods of their own world. They claim the inheritence for themselves and once they accomplish this false sence of self worship. Then it will be widely accepted and using that same "fake understanding" the Antichrist will exalt himself by the same standards only with a much bigger BOOM. His signs will be much greater than a witch and he will claim to be the Christ. The world will be deceived.. yes, inspired by the King of Liars.

Have her read. "the signature of God" don't give her reasoning to understand The Holy One of Israel. Give her facts.

well, if you're in the business of stroking your ego and putting everyone down who doesn't agree with you, then yes it is "devilry"

however, it is strictly a non-violent order, and causes no harm to fellow man, but in fact has a lot to do with helping the earth, and such.

personally, I do not believe in the teaching, but I find no reason to condemn it.
