I'm reminded that in scripture we are to seek after God and his ways and prompted not to lean to our own understanding as some would like to think they have liberty to do. I am further reminded that we are to avoid foolish and unlearned questions. I find myself on the side of asking how can clear scripture be so misinterpreted by so many people who all claim to have the same focus.
I say that it is good to expose willful ignorance a debunk the notion that ignorance is not sin. I believe James makes this clear. We are to study we are to avoid foolish questions we are to make better choices than we do if not it is a form of sin. If we as believers choose to remain ignorant or in ignorance that is by choice no different than sin is by the same choice thus it becomes sin to willfully remain in ignorance. Just a thought
James 4:13
Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14Whereas ye know not what
shall be on the morrow. For what
is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15For that ye
ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
