Deuteronomy 12:30-32
New King James Version (NKJV)
30 take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ 31 You shall not worship the LORD your God in that way; for every abomination to the LORD which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.
32 “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.

so again the request what practices are Christians doing specifically that fulfill the above accusation?

Do they burn their sons and daughters in the fire of other gods?

What Christian ritual does God find abhorrant?

God is to be worshiped every day in Hymns and prayers of thanksgiving. Christmas just magnifies what should be done all year long.

Do you find the nativity scenes offensive?

Do you find the Christmas hymns vulgar?

Do you dislike the plays remembering the birth of Jesus?

what exactly troubles your soul about Christmas?

EG, if the church kept the feasts like they were suppose to, then there would be 7 TIMES A YEAR, that more people would start their lives with Yeshua. There is no right way to celebrate xmas, What part of "Don't do as the gentile nations do" does anyone not understand, apparently all of it.

Agreed, no religious ceremony has ever saved anyone, so why keep xmas and easter, their nonsense!!!

Then why keep the 7 feasts? Yo0u just contradicted yourself my friend.

PS. Pagans do not set a day aside to celebrate the birth of Christ, or his death. So noether one of those things are things the world would do.

Your being alot like the pharisees. Being judgmental. And this is not from God

Avinu you have nothing from scripture...just nothing. Cept for your attitude..which is yours to have.
This is only your conviction which all can respect. But with your socalled intollerance your breaking
several other important statutes which brings these verses to mind:

Romans 2:17-23

KJV(i) 17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, 18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; 19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, 20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. 21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? 22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? 23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Rachel, again, your ignorance is amazing. You just go on any post and spout out what ever comes to your mind. I've been teaching and researching pagan celebrations such as xmas and easter for yrs. and their IS documented history about them, going all the way back to Nimrod and his wife and everything else. I have to wonder if it bothers you at all to make such foolish claims and sound so uneducated as you do. Because so far from everything you've wrote, it tells me that you don't know anything. Again, you really need to learn before you speak, or this case type.
believing everything you find on conspiracy websites is not research...

there is absolutely no documentation of nimrod outside of the bible...let alone his wife or his religious practices or anything else about him...

these sources you rely on are based on unfounded speculation about the identity of a 'king ninus' described by greek and roman historians living about 2,000 afterwards and later... ninus himself is legendary and is not documented anywhere outside of these few unreliable references...and the descriptions of ninus contradict the bible's depiction of nimrod anyway...

the whole idea was promoted in the late 1800s by alexander hislop in a blatantly dishonest and inaccurate anti catholic pamphlet called 'the two babylons'

that is basically all there is...there is absolutely no historical or archaeological support for your claim...

i believe now that christmas should not be practiced, period, regardless of any opinions or justifications by people, because really when we consider any celebration, its more human and not a celebration of the SPIRIT, and really its very dubious, like a grey zone in the contrasting black and white point of view.

and the debating gets people too worked up, this entire thread just argumented to attacks on character and strayed from the main argument.

to quote Jeremiah or God talking through Jeremiah: "for they cannot do evil nor good".

also as a question of idolatry, does anyone know what God meant by idolatry? What falls into that umbrella? is it just blatant of worship or is it too much devotion of your time to something inanimate or whatever that takes you away from God, or simply it takes your time away from more important things? Because if so I am guilty and yeah.

Jeremiah 10 is talking about making Idols and worshiping them.
more specifically that passage is about making an asherah

the other passages really say nothing that could be construed as even remotely having anything to do with christmas celebrations...

We need to use the word of God to help people see the truth and not come across in a way that sounds hurtful. Our kindness is what people need to see.
This is just my thinking on this. I know without a temple some of the feast cannot be done the way they are written, but we are to honor them as a memorial. That we teach of all he has done to the next generations. They they know his ways and are know by him. All his word is given for our learning we are not to go by what man has said but by the word.
Deut 12:4Do not worship the LORD your God in the way these pagan peoples worship their gods.
Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you deut 4:2
If you look at the feasts in the word god has written it shall be a statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Jeremiah 10
Hear what the LORD says to you, people of Israel. 2 This is what the LORD says:
“Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the heavens,
though the nations are terrified by them. 3 For the practices of the peoples are worthless;
they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
4 They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails
so it will not totter. 5 Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, their idols cannot speak;
they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good.”

Ex 20:3-4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. We can not add things to worship of god we must do it his way.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and never forget all the good he has done: He is the one who forgives all your sins, the one who heals all your diseases." Psalms 103:2-3
You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews John 4:22. This is what the LORD Almighty says: "In those days ten men from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, 'Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.Zech 8:23. The Jews have had thousands of years to know their god. Yeshua was a Jew a lot of the things in the bible are not understood because we are not jews and do not understand the figure of speech.
God is the same yesterday and today and forever.

And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer luke 22:15
Yeshua went up on the mountain gave taught the law then came down. Pentecost Matt 5-7
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah matt 17:4
Matt 21:12-13 cleansing of the temple day of atonement
Matt 24:30 day of atonement – the day of the LORD
The 7th year Sabbath Mark 1:34 and in other places . The 7th year a time to be set free.
Mark 8:23-25 new year of trees
This is a few of them
Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven that you may
be a new lump since you truly are unleavened. For indeed the Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

There are many pictures of the feast in the new testament but you must know the feast to see them.
Let us keep the feast
not with old leaven, nor with leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
I Corinthians 5:6-7

We must worship in spirit and truth.

This thread is still going?

No one knows what is in another's heart. Just because someone may celebrate a Holiday doesn't mean it TAKES OVER their mind and they do not concentrate on God.

I wonder about some of you people.

I celebrate my birthday. Is that a sin too?

I FIND IT RATHER CURIOUS THAT SO MANY WHO CLAIM TO TRULY FOLLOW MESSIAH,(THIS IS TO THOSE WHO HAVE APPARENTLY LIVED FOR GOD AT LEAST A FEW YRS. OR MORE) THAT EVEN AFTER THEY HAVE FOUND OUT THAT XMAS IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN A PAGAN PRACTICE OF VILE FILFTH, PERVERSION, AND HORRIFIC VIOLENCE TO CHILDREN AND WOMEN.

THEN THEY ARE SHOWN THAT SCRIPTURE IS CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE THINGS IS AN ABOMINATION TO GOD, AND A SIN AND HE WILL NOT BLESS NOR HONOR ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN TOLD THE TRUTH ABOUT IT. THEY SAY THINGS LIKE "WELL THAT'S NOT WHAT I DO' OR "I DON'T KEEP IT THAT WAY" ETC. ANY KIND OF EXCUSE SO THEY CAN JUSTIFY TO THEMSELVES THE LAME EXCUSE TO KEEP SINNING.

MY QUESTION IS, DO YOU HONESTLY THINK YOU'RE FOOLING GOD? DO YOU THINK HE DOESN'T SEE THROUGH YOU? BECAUSE YOU SAY " I THINK IT'S REALLY OK, BECAUSE I REALLY MEAN IT FOR YESHUA" THAT HE'S GOING TO SAY, "WELL THEN IT'S OK, EVEN THOUGH I TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM SUCH THINGS AND THAT IT'S A SIN, BUT SINCE YOU SAID YOU DON'T MEAN IT THAT WAY, I'LL LET YOU DISOBEY ME ON THIS."

LET'S ALSO LOOK AT THE FACT THAT YHVH GAVE US 7 ORDAINED AND COMMANDED FEASTS THAT HE BLESSED FOR US TO KEEP. YET AGAIN, DO YOU THINK YHVH IS GOING TO BLESS YOU FOR KEEPING XMAS WHICH IS EVIL AND BE OK WITH IT, AND BLESS YOU FOR THROWING HIS FEASTS OUT THE DOOR?

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE JUDGEMENT COMING, FOR YOU ALL WHO DO THIS WILL STAND BEFORE YHVH IN THESE MATTERS AND YOUR LAME EXCUSES ARE NOT GOING TO HOLD WATER, I'D DARE SAY YOU WON'T HAVE THE GUTS TO SAY THOSE EXCUSES TO HIM BECAUSE YOUR GUTS WILL BE TURNING INTO WATER.

IT IS TRULY SICKENING HOW ANYONE WHO CLAIMS TO BE OF MESSIAH, HONESTLY THINKS THAT IT'S OK TO JUST TELL GOD THAT HE'LL HAVE TO ACCEPT THEIR WORSHIP THE WAY THEY CHOOSE TO WORSHIP HIM. SCRIPTURE SAYS HE LAUGHS AT PEOPLE LIKE THAT, FOR THEY ARE IN DERISION.

IT IS TIME TO STOP BEING SELFISH TO YHVH, AND START ACTUALLY LISTENING TO HIM WHILE YOU STILL HAVE THE CHANCE.

FOR ANYONE READING THIS WHO HAS NOT HEARD ABOUT THE TRUE ORIGIN OF XMAS. JUST GOOGLE THE 'ORIGIN OF XMAS' AND YOU WILL BE SHOCKED AT WHAT WILL COME UP. YESHUA/JESUS WAS NOT BORN ON DECEMBER 25TH, AND HE DOES NOT WANTING US CELEBRATING THIS BLASPHEMOUS HOLIDAY.
You killed Jesus because you loved the Roman rule more then freedom. I blame you for paganism and everything else.

How is that for a broad stroke of the brush?

Well I think we've beat this horse to death quite a bit, so I'm going to bow out. And for the sake of love, I apologize to those I insulted. I'm not perfect either, and this is where His grace comes in.

Scripture shows that JESUS did not keep the Sabbath as the Pharisees and Jewish priest thought He was suppose to keep it.
Now that's the nicest thing anyone has said to me all week, thank you. :)
