I have not read one place in scripture that states the "fruit of the spirit" is earned?
True they are not earned they grow in the believer by grounding ourselves in good soil ( the love of God) absorbing sunlight ( the word of God) and making sure we get plenty of water ( time and communion with God ) Otherwise the fruits can become parched.

The issue is when people seem to confuse defending the truth with just plain childish arguing mocking ect. It is how we respond that makes the difference.
But thank you for understanding my point.
I think it will help in many of these discussions for people to just state, "I disagree with you, this is what I believe in..." without inserting additional comments like "You are preaching falsehoods, you are immature, you are heretical".

In short, focus on their differing points of view, instead of passing judgements on others viewpoints.

Read Post #1 and move forward. You’ll gain understanding. On another note, I know you better than you think, Blain, and I’ve always held you in high regards.😎
Well I started in this thread when it was still kind of new but things here at home kept me at bay from coming online I cannot go through all the pages and read all the posts though it hurts my eyes and they are not yet fully recovered from all the surgeries we had to do for them

It started out as far as I can tell a decent discusiioon and honestly when and how it went awry isn't important what matters is that we recover from it all. And thank you I had no idea you held me in such regard but the credit isn't due to me if you hold me in regard I hope it is only for what the fruits of God not me personally

Exactly, there is nothing wrong with giving correction when it is needed and even heated debates can be a way to learn ( particularly what not to do ) but if it results in such behavior then that debate has lost it's value and bears no fruits for anyone
We have to know when to shake the dust off our feet and walk away

One day God is going to openly say He holds you in high regards, and I’m going to give you a huge fist pump. 😎

You’re not a bully; your heart is too pure for that, but you are hypocritical. You go at it with people then condemn others for doing the same. In a weird way I respect false-preacher because at least I know where he stands.
What you all have been doing is no better than preacher. How can I condemn him for falsely accusing and bullying people when you all do it?

THAT would make Me a hypocrite

What I realized is I joined in because you all believe mostly as I do. And someone pointed that out to me. So I
Observed and found it to Be true

Guys just leave laying dogs alone, I know it is tempting to respond to others about the past of this thread but it is not a thread of who did what or he said she said it is about the fruits of the spirit. We all make mistakes and all sometimes respond as we shouldn't but love forgives and moves on.

None of your accusations on me are true and remain unsubstantiated. :)

I've falsely accused no one nor have I bullied anyone and there is obviously no proof. Unsubstantiated claims are false, but you think if you make them, keep repeating your lies long enough it makes them true. I've asked you for evidence in the past and you offered none.

You say publicly you have me on ignore and still lie about and talk down about me as in the above? Quite uncool and very un-Christian of you.

You've bullied @jackrosie on here for agreeing with my posts, liking my posts, being my friend, and have shamed her for it publicly. That's a sad fact. It is nothing short of bullying, sowing discord and causing division.

THAT would make Me a hypocrite
Agreed. 👍

Interesting, I think thru this, I understand better how cyber bullying work among youths of this Internet generation.

Even though you are not directly participating in the cyber bullying act itself, but every time you retweet, share, or like such attacks, you are indirectly encouraging the perpetrators.

what is a greater 'work' of forgiveness? which leads to the question 'is forgiveness a work?"

I don't see where there is an option to forgive or not forgive in scripture as Paul says this :

Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you. Eph 4:32 and of course we also have the words of Jesus Himself saying that if you have something against another, leave your gift at the altar and go and be reconciled.

we are not offering sacrifices anymore, there has been one final sacrifice and now we are forgiven and should forgive others

there is no scale of forgiveness either that I can find. The Bible simply says to forgive and if that is not good enough, then consider you should forgive because you have been forgiven

Jesus gave the cup of his blood to his disciples to drink. Maybe you missed these passages. There are more.

Phil. 3: 10
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Col. 1:24

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

Are you feeling empowered now?

Did you even read the exchange that occurred on the thread?

How about some honesty... I will be waiting on that one.
She would not know or understand honesty if she looked it up in a dictionary, studied the word and took a 2 year course on the subject. Neither would her Calvinite mentor....

These verses speak to our position in Christ.
What is that?
Maybe put a ? after the sentence.

That differentiates a statement of fact of what you think one believes when in fact it doesn't.

@EleventhHour referred to the following

Galatians 2:20
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Sounds to me Paul was speaking about suffering and it's sanctifying value to him.

and yet he prayed no less than 3 times for God to remove that from which he particularly suffered

maybe you missed that?

True, you cannot control how others choose to interpret your posts.
If reality is too complicated to interpret my posts accurately then I admit I’m unable to control various levels of stupidity.

Truth is Truth regardless of anyone’s beliefs. This is not a popularity contest; I simply defend Truth regardless of how many nonsensical, passive-aggressive, cultist diatribes I encounter. You’re either with Truth or against Truth.
