Peaceful Warrior, I understand your problem morally, but what I don't understand is why the church or any Christian theology needs to have an opinion on this. If you think it is murder, don't get an abortion. However, preventing others from having abortions legally will only result in unsafe practices such as abortions under the knife of someone from the black market. According to a Huffington Post article in 2014, because Texas completely outlawed abortin except in cases where it is a danger to human life, one woman who ended up pregnant went to Mexico to have the procedure done which resulted in internal hemorrhaging as a result of a complication of the surgery which could have ended her life. Not only this, but according to a NCBI study in 2009, some 68,000 women die annually due to unsafe abortions. Not only this, but the monumental Roe Vs. Wade decision by the SCOTUS declared abortion a right for women.
So with all due respect, even with the moral quandries there is no clear answer, after all, the majority of life questions aren't black and white. Morally I would discourage abortion as if does kill the child, but I can't force my opinion on others, I can only explain it.
Thanks,
Ben
