Sad when people just cannot give a straight answer to anything. It shows theyve compromised. Let others sway them. Or they doublminded and cant make up their mind about anything. JEsus calls us to be singleminded.

JEsus asked why saul persecuted him. Saul couldnt give an answer. He was blind.
What happened was Jesus then called him to be an apostle to the gentiles and to learn just how much suffering he had put believers through. JEsus had a plan for saul (now Paul) and he couldnt disobey the holy calling. Scales fell from his eyes.

When Lot had compromised by living in sodom, he lost not only his wife, who looked back, but he didnt even know when his own daughters got him drunk and slept with him. Was Lot blind? When asked to leave sodom Lot dithered. He tried to argue about going somewhere else when the angels and God clearly wanted him to run to the mountains and dont stop.

The sons of Lot Moab and ammon then went on to plague the Israelites and continue to entice them to sin.
All these stories in the Bible are for our learning. They arent there just for people to read in sunday school and entertain us.

I just sense some people arent willing to crack open a Bible and ask God what He has to say about the matter. If people dont believe what Moses wrote, how they going to accept what Jesus said?

Look at this from Kevin's side...

I'm sure there are plenty who called him a "d@mn sinner, yer going to hell fggt, no I won't come to your party of sin"

I wouldn't want to go talk to someone like that later.

On the flip side, Kevin knows that there's at least one person who doesn't agree with what he is doing, but loves him enough to just be there. He would go talk to someone like that.

He wouldn't kiss Saul. Right and wrong are still getting an audience with him. And we wouldn't know about that opening to pray over if I hadn't been there to see it. That IS something he will want to talk about some day.

He'll come to me. He won't to CS1.

I dont think cs1 would abuse people in that way.

I think you misrepresenting others, most people actually said dont go, not dont go and abuse and condemn someone who asks.

How long do you think this fake marriage will last anyway. Why did he ask you to go anyway. Was he wanting you to rescue him from this fake marriage.

Lets all come together in prayer that Kevin will be convicted and come to you and all allow God to renew Him. Time is of the essence for so many reasons. There but by the grace of God go I.

This thread was started in February. The wedding is a done deal...
If the mistake was done, are we circling in regret?

1 John 1:9
And Romans 5:5-6 while we were still powerless, God died for the ungodly

If no mistake, shouldn't we be proud of Ricky's decision?

And why are we still bickering about all this, what are we trying to learn?

If no one learn anything, can this thread be locked by a moderator?

I support Ricky in his decision for reasons we have both stated, which amounts to: his nephew knows Ricky as a loving uncle he can turn to for answers. Why lock the thread? If it bothers you, just stop posting in it and/or reading it ;)

Good point, I wish the title of the thread can change, before anyone else think that cc com is ok with gay wedding, just because the two words keep popping up

Other than to the title, I'm fine

Perhaps "sinful wedding dilemma Ricky is struggling with" is a better title to the thread

You don't have to wish a non-Christian death and destruction; that's where they're headed anyway.

Better to let them know that the life they're living is not the Way and point them to Jesus. Approving of their sin is not the way to do that.
@MultilingualMessenger you are a relatively new believer and God has blessed you with much wisdom, I find your posts very encouraging you are obviously well grounded in the faith!! :)

I think we can discuss it in the abstract and not make it about Ricky and his decision anymore....but I think it is an important complex topic where our actions have far reaching consequences.

Do you have an algorithm for that...to show there was no mistake that is??

Yeah, like under age kids being there seeing all the adults there and thinking, "well it must be ok." Or seeing photos years after of the crowd gathered 'round to wish the happy couple well....better yet, facebook, pintrest, etc

So true, I had not thought of that.

I once happened to be downtown (big city) on the same day as pride parade...there were little kids everywhere...it was quite the show let me tell you ...definitely could be rated XX.....I was so upset, it was so unsettling to watch people cheering and oblivious to the perversity of it.:(

This thread has been disturbing to me. I have a 15 yr old granddaughter, it pains me to think what all the young are exposed to these days.

In fact some Guy named John Baker is the author of Celebrate Recovery, not Rick Warren.
That is good to know :) So much for all the hoopla about R.W. Thank you for setting the record straight (y)
