I worked a the chapel From 2000-2007. Yes we married plenty of Christians, often because their families tried to hijack the wedding to a different vision than the couple had themselves so they ran away and eloped in private. Often also they came to realize they could travel to Vegas see wonderful shows eat great food and get married for less tha the wedding alone would cost. For a nominal fee the wedding could be seen online live at home by family and friends. Each pastor was allowed to introduce him or her self and was also to decline to marry if he or she thought something was off like a marriage for illegal purposes like immigration. Or if the customer was under the influence or incoherent.

We also offered hot air balloon, helicopter and private in room wedding packages. When we just sent a minister and a photographer to witness. Only one is required by Nevada state law. We even did apostilles where we contacted their embassies to confirm that the wedding in fact did occur and was legitimate according to US laws.

I had a lady friend that worked at the other chapel and she would share about it and laugh because it was a farce. I knew a straight Nazarene pastor that tolerated his gay bosses because the money was good. He only did straight weddings himself and gay weddings were still invalid at the time. And all weddings required a license issued by the county courthouse first. It was not pretend. and we endorsed and sent a copy back to the court via courier daily. They Are open everyday.

I live in tornado alley Oklahoma USA now.
Ok interesting, are the laws in nevada different from all the other states. In england I know couples traditionally eloped to Gretna Green.
Is it because they only require one witness?

BTW his name was Terry and he went from being a professional gay advocate in Hollywood, to a crisis counselor and a leader in the mens discipleship ministry. He was also the best man at my wedding. PTL! Not all gays now are going to hell later.
he was not gay anymore there are many who had the sexual addition of homosexuality who God set free and Now they are saved and Christian men not gay anymore. all those who practice(unrepented) will have their part in the lake of Fire.

I think that too. It’s a sin like other sins. Their sins, like our sins, can be forgiven.

I will now pray for everyone who has participated in this thread.

Laissez les bon temps rouler😁.

Susanna have you been to a gay wedding yourself, if so, did you say anything to the couple. Just wondering. Or did God tell you to go.
Or if you havent but would go, what would you say to them?

This might help others, since you seem insistant that attending them will make a difference.

the idea that God would tell one to go and not know what for is a clear indication it was Not God.

I can tell you that no one who practices such sin will receive heaven. If they are saved they are not gay anymore. No knowing one's outcome does not mean we are not to speak the word of God in truth and love. We are not to be ashamed of HIS Gospel it is the power of God for salvation
Did you answer the question, mister moderator, sir? It is not clear, I cannot tell by your response. Can they be saved, or not? Leave off all the other stuff for now. That is straw man stuff ;)

I wonder why people say this, as if to denote that a homosexual suddenly loses their inclinations once saved. Heterosexuals do not. To identify as homosexual does not mean one is a practicing homosexual either, just like identifying as heterosexual does not mean one is engaging in fornication (if unmarried).

Ok.

So why the big hooha. Are you sure if you went to one you would have the oppotunity to preach?

Psalm 1 does say blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Proverbs 1 also says verse 10 my son if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

If you dont undertsnd what that means maybe use a different bible version cos im quoting from KJV.

As for Ricky the OP I recall he was saying he went but he was very uncomfortable there. I dont know what kind of outcome he was wanting to witness their 'show' of a wedding. But he did kind of say he had no choice...was it because his wife wanted to go or what.

We always have a choice whether to walk in the spirit or the flesh. If we are saved we can make that choice, we arent blind. If someone invites you to go somewhere or do something you actually have a choice to accept or decline. You dont need to go to everything. Othweise what are you like with junk mail and advertising. Do you just buy everything the ads tell you?

I saw no part of John 3:16 there, I even double checked. Thanks for answering the question, though :)

For the record, Ricky's nephew knows his uncle's stance.

There are other opportunities to reach out to homosexuals but a gay wedding is one of those scenarios where christians should be black and white about. We don't want to be like lukewarm Laodecians or else God will spew us out of His mouth.

I live a mile from Taco Bell.
Thats not Mexican food! That's loose ground beef in a fried taco shell neither of which are Mexican the only thing Mexican about it is the chili powder even the cheese is American. LOL. At least burritos are Texan. Nice try.
