I really can't converse about this anymore. I really don't understand what is the point of posting on this forum. There is always going to be someone on here so bull-headed that won't take anyone's opinions or beliefs into consideration. They have their mindset stuck on no matter what they are right and you are wrong. Ramon I will pray for you that one day you will be open to discussion. It's ok to have your own beliefs and stick with them but what gives you the right to say I or another person is wrong. At least say I respect your beliefs and move on. No single person on this planet has any right to judge someone else's faith/belief. I have gone to church, been confirmed, even went to private schools that prepare you to be a pastor. So for someone to tell me I am incorrect is simply idiotic.

Just a side note Ramon. Out of sheer curiosity what do you do for entertainment?

Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
For entertainment I entertain myself with the words of Jesus Christ, oh and I occasionally play a board game or watch a movie from time to time. :)

The church doesn't confirm a person, neither does a pastor. A man can't anoint another man with an anointing he doesn't have to give. It is God himself who chooses his own.

Does Jesus confirm you? Have you sought his approval? Or the approval of men?

You see my friend, I don't seek the approval of men, but of Jesus Christ. And when I see something Jesus doesn't approve, I speak up about it, and for that, I am an enemy of many ''Christians.''

Now, if Jesus will say to me, ''You are a hypocrite, because you believed my words, and spoke my words,'' then you might call me also simply idiotic.

Even more, he will see if I also keep his words, so no one is exempt.

What I do find strange is that most of the hostility concerning what the Lord God himself has said by his own mouth, even through Jesus, and also by his Holy Spirit, is VIOLENTLY hated by people who consider themselves Christians. I still don't understand it.

The day I chose to follow Jesus, is the day I chose to die.

May Jesus bless you.

I believe that there are people who can read a fantasy/science fiction/fiction/horror novel, or watch a movie in those genres, and NOT be swayed by it.

I DON'T believe that said people are small children who:
1- have not yet learned the difference between real and make-believe
2- have not yet developed a relationship with God
3- do not know what the Bible says
4- have parents who don't take the trouble to teach them any of the above

We can't tell other adults or other people's kids what they should or shouldn't do. We can share God's Word with them, we can share our beliefs with them, we can pray for them. But telling them bluntly that they are wrong, that they are stupid, that they are 'sick'...that pushes people away and causes them to dig their heels in more firmly than before. When we 'attack' others with our strong beliefs and opinions, they become defensive and deaf to the actual message behind our overbearing behavior. Christians are supposed to 'woo' people to Jesus, not shove them.

I am new to this forum. First off I would like to say that this thread is disgusting. It's basically a debate of who is a better Christian. Every parent has the right to raise their child however they please. The bible says God hates witchcraft and mediums and so on and so forth. Harry potter is a "fictional" novel. It's is so unbelievably simple. The definition of fictional is point blank: not real. That being said how does reading a book make someone a sinner. So if I read a book about some kids that are wizards it automatically means I am one or that I believe in it? No! It's merely a bunch of papers bonded together to provide entertainment. Ramon based on all your previous posts it seems like you are one to "judge" others parenting abilities or beliefs. The only one who can "judge" is God. I would greatly appreciate it if you people would get off of your "I'm a better Christian because I do this" and openly respect people's opinions beliefs.

There is nothing more sickening to me then someone who thinks they are a perfect Christian. If you were then you would be Jesus/God.

Ramon you might as well lock yourself in a holding tank with padded walls because every single thing in this world is "sinful" in your eyes. All it comes down to whether it be a holiday/song/book/picture is belief. If you truly believe that Halloween is celebrating the devil then avoid those aspects of it. Tell me how dressing up as fireman and knocking on someone's door for candy is worshipping the devil? It's not. It's merely a day where kids get to be kids. People aren't born adults with morals and wisdom. They start out as kids. Kids should have fun. Period.

Seems to me that there are plenty of adults who have not yet learned the difference between real and make believe ... :/

How do you propose we determine whether one is "sick" or not? Doesn't this presuppose a standard that applies to all people at all times?

Uh..yeah. Atleast to an extent. That is why there are psychiatric clinics...some people are definately mentally insane....Not sure what you are trying to argue here

You can loosen up when it come to the devil or he will deceive you.Make believe witchcraft is serious and those kind of shows tell kids that witchcraft is okay and it's not. It's not an extreme it's a truth. My family can have fun without the devil and his lies!
One MAJOR problem with all religion is that they promote opinion as truth. My opinion is that you are completely wrong. It most certainly is an extreme, NOT a truth.

So any kid with an imagination that plays with other children make believe games where they have super powers and fight crime like spiderman or something is evil? Because it deals with the supernatural in a sense?

Boy are you brainwashed.... I would never want to live in your world. I'm sorry for you.

If this message were to people, not of Christ, who have not known his name, there would be no need, but this is to rebellious people, who claim Christ but don't follow him.

A person feels attacked when they have offense in them, and for this, they killed Jesus. Why? Because he spoke the truth.

These same people praise evil and despise good.

When I came here, it was with a message of the Lord to repent. And from this we see who lives in repentance and who doesn't So those who consider themselves righteous are proven unrighteous by the Word of God. But those who are righteous are humble.

I am not speaking against a man, but against a spirit that is actively influencing MANY to pervert the ways of God.

If anyone is offended by that, then that tells something i could not say more. Maybe if I put here the judgement of Jesus, many people might also disagree with him? But they can go read that in the bible, if they will not hear it from me.

May Jesus bless you.

[Quoted by FadePoint89: "There is always going to be someone on here so bull-headed that won't take anyone's opinions or beliefs into consideration"]

You are right, I won't take just anyone's opinions or beliefs. I read scripture for myself, and pray for the Holy Spirit to teach

me through God's word.

Roman's 15:5
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus

You are misunderstanding Raymond, he is doing this all for the love he has for Jesus.

Raymond seeks God's face every day, I see him on here with the love of Jesus...every day.

Can you honestly say you pray for God's direction every day?

Or do you lean on your own understanding.

Have any of you actually watched Harry Potter? It's about the least evil thing on the planet! If that's evil, then so are every childrens fairy tale books...hansel and gretyl, etc...

We might as well just kill ourselves right now since all of these things are sins...

I stick with my original statement that many of you who feel this way are extremely brainwashed and sick.. You are becoming neurotic and obsessive. Chill out about these things. Have a good fun life. Stop dwelling on the devil.

The true evils are films like American Pie that do nothing but promote stupidity. Educate yourselves and watch a great artistic film like Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick or Taxi Driver or Natural Born Killers. THOSE are worthy movies of your time. Not this Harry Potter nonsense.

Occult experts, Marcia Montenegro of Christian Answers for the New Age, and Caryl Matrisciana, author of Gods of the New Age. Both have personal experience in the occult before becoming Christians.

They warn that the cult is serious business and impressionable minds grasp on to ideas like those presented in the world of Harry Potter.

J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, has gone through an awful lot of research. She is very accurate (otherwise we would have witches all over the country and the world saying ‘this is not a true representation of our religion.’) This is a true representation of witchcraft, and the black arts, and black magic.

“Clara Sessoms, who manages Living Water Christian Books in Marion, Ind. [says] ‘I don’t think people fully realize what they’re dealing with, and I think anyone who knows anything about spiritual warfare knows those books can open the door to spiritual bondage.’ ‘And I think it’s worse that children are the target,’ said Jessica Ruemler, a buyer for Living Water. It opens the doors for young minds.

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

My kids were taught to use their imagination, when they put on the Armor Of God.

I told my children when they move out it was their choice, and I would not be upset with their choice as an adult.
None of them chose to read "Harry Potter" after they left home.
My kids went to Disney Land.

How does one determine, that another is "mentally insane"?

There are tests... Are you being serious? If someone is seeing and hearing things..he is insane. If someone is acting irrational in such a way that is causing harm to himself or others...he could be insane. Of course there are always exceptions. Hallucinogenic drugs can give the appearence of insanity. And, as Hugh Laurie said on the show House, Religion and insanity are two very closely related things...almost indistinguishable from eahother.

Atleast you aren't a postmodernist. Kudos to you on that.

I believe Christianity to be true, not on the basis of opinion, but rather, facts. That does not however, mean, that I am without faith, or that my belief is regimented, structured, over-analyzed, and devoid of uncertainties.

However, be careful while you pull the, "all religion..." because religion and atheism both attempt to answer the same questions. Let us not fall to special pleading, and open ourselves to our own criticism, shall we?

Who determines what constitutes "insane"?

Since you've given a check list.

Acting Irrational that causes harm to self or others
Seeing and hearing things
Religion

Who is it that has determined these things constitute insanity? Let alone, that such a thing is wrong and needs to be contained.

Ok...lets allow crazy people seeing and hearing things that arent there and that cause harm to themselves and others run around town....infact, lets give them weapons and drugs and see what happens....You'll have a lot of Jeffery Dahmers running around...

What are you trying to prove? You dont want to accept that insane people exist? Have you ever visited a mental hospital? It's a sad place. These people need a lot of help.

Don't mock it. Sociopaths....Schizophrenics....people with sever Alzheimers...these are really sad people. They need our help. Not exorcisms...

My friend, I agree with you these people do need help. But I am telling you that Jesus can very soon help them. May the Lord send me in the power of his Spirit to see all the sick healed!!

Amen!!

All I have to say is just be lead by the Holy Spirit on what you should or shouldn't be watching. I can play games where there is demons, magic and other gods in it, with the Holy Spirit telling me play something else(with most of these games I've come accrossed), but when it's something like Magic the Gathering it seems like he doesn't want me to play it. Basically, I'm just trying to say the Holy Spirit will tell each person(I don't think he'll say the same thing for everyone) what tv, video games, or anything like that they can play or not.

You took it to heart, and truly the Lord is your judge. The judgement comes OUT of you. You say they are stones, but I am speaking the truth, but you will not accept it.

Many people go around throwing the hypocrite word because they cannot cease from their own sin. They assume that everyone is a gross sinner like them, and that NO one can be like Jesus Christ.

It is a call to be like Jesus, to follow in his steps, to be separated from the world, and shaped into HIS image, not the image of the idols of the world. Are you a Christian? If so, do you also follow Jesus?

Yes there is one judge, and everyone will be judged by the words of Jesus. His words will judge all people.

May Jesus bless you.
I was not the one who used the word hypocrite. You did.

Stop contradicting yourself. You are right this time though. There is one judge. Its not you and yet a few lines ago you were proclaiming Jesus gabe you the right to judge. I don't think so since he himself never did.

Oh, but Jesus did judge. He brought many judgements to this world. The judgement is his, and if it is his, it is not my judgement. He gives me a right to speak his judgements.

As everyone will be judged by them. So if I speak his judgements, that is one thing. If another doesn't adhere, that is another.

May Jesus bless you.
