So you would compare this trash to the bible?

God is not so complicated, he has given his requirements for HIS people.

This is all a work of Satan, trying to get people to see evil as good and good as evil. I am not so surprised to see so called Christians defend it. ''So called.''

The Holy Spirit lets every single Christian know what is approved and what is not, but many people don't want to hear it. They want what the world wants. And they will get the punishment the world gets.

If anyone wants to be Christian, let him follow Jesus, let him OBEY his commands.

May Jesus bless you.
Ramon you are starting to annoy me a little. How dare you speculate how much of a Christian anyone else is. It is disrespectful and once again JUDGMENTAL. Have some respect for others.

Matthew 7:1-5 Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

James 4; 11-12 Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

John 8:7 And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Are you without sin? I know you are not because you are human. So its time to stop throwing stones at others.

True we don't do the judging, God does through His Word and already has judged. There's two different types of course, me saying "hey he looks like a scum bag" (wrong type of carnal judgment) vs. "I found some scripture here which seems to line up with what we are saying and it says not to think on or do these things"... (Godly judgment, correction, rebuke, exhortation, etc.)

I think we're missing Ramon's point. Don't be deceived friends. Every holiday celebrates something. Halloween is a pagan holiday promoting Satanism, idolatry, witchcraft, sorcery, necromancy, and the occult. None of these things should exist in the life of a Christian! They are spiritually dangerous, and should be avoided at all costs. What does the Bible have to say about the idea of Halloween, and the activities often associated with this pagan festival? I refer you to Deuteronomy 18:9-13: Deuteronomy 18:9-13 - "When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations (idolatry) of those nations (pagans). There shall NOT be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer (those who talk with the spirits of the dead). For ALL that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be upright with the LORD thy God."
Final note: Did you know that October 31st is considered by Satanists and other occult following adults to be one of their most important days of the year? It’s true! And Halloween has the highest crime rate of any day of the year. Why do you think that is? Because it's a celebration of spiritual darkness.
So please don't give glory to the Devil by actively participating in this pagan festival. Give Glory to God Alone through Jesus Christ and the Father of Light!
Christmas was a pagan holiday, yet some of us Christians consider it the holiest of holidays

You can't say Hallowe'en is a pagan holiday in the same sentence as it celebrates Satanism. Pagans don't believe in Satan and by definition, don't worship him. You must believe what is written in the Bible to worship Satan.

As a previous pagan myself and with friends who still are, I can say I've never come across any pagans who believe in Satan.

If I recollect this is true pagans don't believe in Satan, they believe in many gods. Wicca for example has elemental spirits and deities.

All Hollows Eve is a very special day among witches and warlocks who practice dark magic, because they believe their spell casting power and consulting demons is easier during this period. That's probably outside the scope of actual die hard Paganism and more into other areas of occult. Though Pagans do sometimes crossover between the two so that is up for debate.

However, if you aren't worshiping God you're worshiping Satan. So it's still Satan's holiday. :p

I am new to this forum. First off I would like to say that this thread is disgusting. It's basically a debate of who is a better Christian. Every parent has the right to raise their child however they please. The bible says God hates witchcraft and mediums and so on and so forth. Harry potter is a "fictional" novel. It's is so unbelievably simple. The definition of fictional is point blank: not real. That being said how does reading a book make someone a sinner. So if I read a book about some kids that are wizards it automatically means I am one or that I believe in it? No! It's merely a bunch of papers bonded together to provide entertainment. Ramon based on all your previous posts it seems like you are one to "judge" others parenting abilities or beliefs. The only one who can "judge" is God. I would greatly appreciate it if you people would get off of your "I'm a better Christian because I do this" and openly respect people's opinions beliefs.

There is nothing more sickening to me then someone who thinks they are a perfect Christian. If you were then you would be Jesus/God.

Ramon you might as well lock yourself in a holding tank with padded walls because every single thing in this world is "sinful" in your eyes. All it comes down to whether it be a holiday/song/book/picture is belief. If you truly believe that Halloween is celebrating the devil then avoid those aspects of it. Tell me how dressing up as fireman and knocking on someone's door for candy is worshipping the devil? It's not. It's merely a day where kids get to be kids. People aren't born adults with morals and wisdom. They start out as kids. Kids should have fun. Period.

Agreed. What is in our hearts is more important to God than following this rule or that rule.
Being more fundamental does not make someone a better Christian. We should be happy to talk and discuss things rather than argue and tell each other that "I'm right and you're wrong"

Welcome to the forum :)

I would like to say: I still like harry potter and narnia and lord of the rings and halloween, but I am kinda bored of this. We are not getting anywhere and this has just turned unpleasant. I am essentially done. If I do come back on here send me away(unless I am making a good point).

Point is, you guys can't be so close minded about it. And if you're going to be, at least be consistent.
That is exactly what satan wants is for Christians to be more "open-minded" It is much easier to be deceived that way...

Great thread Ramon, God bless you brother!

No offense...but I truly think there are some seriously sick people on here. Lighten up. Loosen up and get over yourselves. You can't possibly be living a happy life. Some of you are so obsessed with sin and "oh no! what if I sinned!!" etc... You are becomming neurotic. Mellow out and have fun. Harry Potter is innocent fun for kids. I'm not a fan of it, because I don't really care for fantasy. It's not hardcore enough for me. I like adult horror films. Same goes for Twilight. It's not my thing (I dont like my vampires to sparkle!!!) But there is absolutely nothing wrong with these things if you like it. Have fun. Enjoy your life. Don't be so insane and a constant worry wart.

Sometimes this whole Christianity thing can be taken to sick extremes, just like anything else. Put yourself in perspective. Nothing is good in extremes. Religion is fine in moderation. Don't become insane with it and isolate yourselves from this "evil" society.

I honestly feel bad for all the kids with parents who believe these lies. They are going to grow up hating you. Your being completely obsessive over nothing. It's a form of child abuse.

How do you propose we determine whether one is "sick" or not? Doesn't this presuppose a standard that applies to all people at all times?

Lighten up. Loosen up and get over yourselves. You can't possibly be living a happy life.
You've never experienced the joy of Christ. I would endure any hardship, with the joy of Christ.

Sin is an afront against God. Me personally, I know when I engage in sin, it hurts the one I love; my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For many of us, the moment after sinning, feels just the same as when a man sobers up and realize he thrashed his beloved wife the night before. (although the roles are somewhat reversed)

You can loosen up when it come to the devil or he will deceive you.Make believe witchcraft is serious and those kind of shows tell kids that witchcraft is okay and it's not. It's not an extreme it's a truth. My family can have fun without the devil and his lies!

Welcome to the site fadepoint.

Nothing I said will change. Every single person has a choice what they will do, and the Holy Spirit does convict someone if they are in error or not.

This was to Christians, and any judgement that I receive of the Lord is just and good. It is HIS judgement, to HIS people. If you don't want to be HIS people, you can go around and play games with everyone else.

Many Christians look nothing like Jesus Christ, they accept homosexuality and engage in it, they lie, cheat, steal, worship with Satan. They don't want righteousness, they want idleness and compromise. They don't seek his righteousness and his kingdom, but the devil's idea of righteousness, and Satan's kingdom.

They don't want to be severed from the ways of this world, but they want to hang with the crowd. These are the type of Christians that will get complacent and idle and be offended by Jesus, by and by.

I have a right to judge in this matter, as God has given me this judgement.

May Jesus bless you.

Sick?

Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

I am not sick, Christ healed me of my sickness.

I got a lot to say and so does the Bible, but I'll save it for somebody who will adhere to the truth instead of blatently denying or trying to water it down. I am saddened and sickened by seeing people so readily deceived and even willing to let children follow that same path. Witchcraft and sorcery innocent fun for kids?!?!?! I mean really? How can somebody say that something spoken against in the bible is innocent and fun? especially for kids? You might as well be saying that satan is innocent and fun. Satan has come to do nothing but steal, kill, and destroy; and he will use anything he can get ahold of to do so.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED!!!

I don't think you're going against Jesus if you celebrate Halloween as long as you keep your heart right. Dressing up and getting candy is harmless. I mean think about it even Easter is a pagan holiday, but we celebrate it with the right heart. Also why do people freak out about harry potter, but not about Wizard of Oz honestly the things people let their children watch in the generations before us is worse than what people let their children watch now.
If I would liken this to anything, I would liken it to harlotry.

It is like putting on a LUST FILM, and having your children sit down and watch it with you, and saying, ''it is okay as long as you keep your heart right.''

Now, the heart of ALL men lust continually to do evil. So, what this is is temptation. Temptation to bring out the lust that Satan works to put in people even from birth!!!

It is a temptation that has its roots out of hell.

Wizard of Oz is trash as well. Most of the mess Christians are entertained with is trash and filth and defiled to God.

Many parents are in hell hoping that someone would tell their children to repent and follow Jesus, or else they will end up in hell. MANY would give much to come back from the dead to warn. But they NEVER will.

So I will stand in that place, and warn, but no one who has heard this will be able to say they did not know.

May Jesus bless you.

You took it to heart, and truly the Lord is your judge. The judgement comes OUT of you. You say they are stones, but I am speaking the truth, but you will not accept it.

Many people go around throwing the hypocrite word because they cannot cease from their own sin. They assume that everyone is a gross sinner like them, and that NO one can be like Jesus Christ.

It is a call to be like Jesus, to follow in his steps, to be separated from the world, and shaped into HIS image, not the image of the idols of the world. Are you a Christian? If so, do you also follow Jesus?

Yes there is one judge, and everyone will be judged by the words of Jesus. His words will judge all people.

May Jesus bless you.

I really can't converse about this anymore. I really don't understand what is the point of posting on this forum. There is always going to be someone on here so bull-headed that won't take anyone's opinions or beliefs into consideration. They have their mindset stuck on no matter what they are right and you are wrong. Ramon I will pray for you that one day you will be open to discussion. It's ok to have your own beliefs and stick with them but what gives you the right to say I or another person is wrong. At least say I respect your beliefs and move on. No single person on this planet has any right to judge someone else's faith/belief. I have gone to church, been confirmed, even went to private schools that prepare you to be a pastor. So for someone to tell me I am incorrect is simply idiotic.

Just a side note Ramon. Out of sheer curiosity what do you do for entertainment?

The sad thing is that these unbelievers are those that call themselves believers, but don't believe.

He is not talking about the people who live in the world, as it was written, we should have to go out of the world then. But he prayed to keep us from the evil in the world.

You see, it says, ''yoked.'' Now, we already know by the time we get to Corinthians that these people were a body of believers (there will always be a mix). So he was saying to this body that it should have no fellowship with darkness.

In many of these churches people allowed sin, and did nothing about it. So Paul rebuked them and exhorted them. This mixing was in the body. And Paul also passed judgement, which came from Jesus Christ on these bodies.

Will anyone ask him who he is to judge? Not at all. The Holy Spirit judges matters, but some call him a liar. Dangerous ground.

Yes my friend, ''What fellowship can light have with darkness?

May Jesus bless you.
