Really? I've heard both bring their challenges. And most people I've talked to have said their boys were easier to raise. I guess it depends.
The "problem" with parenting is that it is almost like an experiment with the subjects being your own kids, because you have zero experience going in.

So now i can look back and see the billions of mistakes I made. LOL

Ideally I think Grandparents wisdom would have been nice, but with only my mother involved it was "touch and go"

(she was so liberal and loving that she was a little lacking in the "rules" department.)
I ended up like her and didn't discipline as I should have.

the scriptures tells us that we are to set our own house in order, and it appears that our Father
is speaking to you on this matter, and it seems as though you are obeying, how blessed you
are in so many ways....

we have learned that when we clean our physical house, we are also cleaning our Spiritual House...
we actually see the result of this first-hand and we actually see our Faith grow before us...
this is a perfect example of 'less-is-more' and it will catapult us 'out of the dumps real quick,
if we hold fast to put our lives in Godly Order...

as so many have told you already, you will certainly be missed but, how we rejoice in your
decision to give-up what has brought you so much joy in these forums to go on and explore
the next page of your life.....TY for blessing us...

GBY you and your precious son.....

Pretty sure I am also going back to a flip phone. 2016 is going to be the year of simple with few distractions. I told my boy that I'd decided to leave CC. He asked me why. I said because he asked me too. He said.."I just asked you to spend less time on the Internet". I told him that leaving CC was one way that I was doing that. You could literally see his little eyes light up.

I have a simple flip phone. It's not so bad. My policy is that it's best to travel light. You are an asset to CC and should consider leaving your account open instead of deleting it. Take as long as you need from this place as you continue the itinerary that God has provided. Safe Passage and Happy Trails. Until we meet again.

My thought process on deleting my account is that I know me and I need to not have the temptation to peek. I end up with 5 day stretches without my son and there are things I plan on filling that time with. I've been a pretty avid runner as well as guitar player so those are two things that I'll do in in my down time.

It sounds like CC was almost an addiction :) Good choice.. Its usually the parents who are trying to keep their kids off their laptops and cell phones :)

You might also consider only going online after he goes to bed, that will assure your boy gets priority without interfering with your private time?

Peace Grace and Love to you brother. My wife worked days and I worked nights so I had the priviledge and responsibility to watch and raise our boys. Unbelievable blessing that was!

CC became an escape for me during my marriage because it was so toxic there. I suppose there are worse internet sites o could have frequented. I craved connection and cc provided some for me. It was also a way for me to teach some things I learned about processing pain and staying connected at the same time. I hope that someone got something out of what I learned that I passed on here and I hope by teaching it it really took root in me.

My plan is to post on this thread a final sort of perspective on the tools I've learned to take care of oneself with good input while at the same time creating connection in the midst of conflict.

Reading all your posts made me teary. The truth is that I am really struggling and there are many reasons why. The other day my boy told me he needed more of me and I've know for awhile that he craves more of my attention. 2016 needs to be a time of drawing closer to God for me. I'm really no good to anyone right now. A house divided soon falls and it's time to cut a whole bunch of fat. I've prayed for God to break my heart and he always comes thru on His promises to draw close as you draw close to him.
Listen Sir.... Go if you must I truly understand and spending time with our kids is a top priority. But don't cut us all off... At least personal message me your address so you can be added to my annual Christmas card list and you will at least know what is going on with the tourists once a year. I hate to see you go, but I get it. I was a single mother and raised my daughter on my own with God's help... so just at least let us keep in touch with you that is all I ask....Blond

I have to say that Blond gets a little (o.k. a lot) attached to some people....not all people but to some she gets attached and I have to confess you are what I consider one of my peeps... Humor really gets me going because I love it and have loved your sense of humor.... When my peeps leave a little piece of my heart gets cut off and leaves a little empty space.... This last year several of my peeps have gone and my heart is starting to look like swiss cheese... I miss them all and with you going it is a new hole.... I guess I will have to start making friends again... but no one can fill the holes that are already there.... because the peeps that have gone are the only ones who fit in those holes....Know what I am saying?

I wish you would not delete your account just let it stay and you go as long as you need to knowing that it is ready and waiting if you ever wanted or needed to come back even if it was for a visit.....

Aww...I am honored to be considered among your peeps. My mind is set as far as deleting my account. I hope to come back someday...God willing. I've enjoyed my time here. Maybe if and when I come back I'll be "The member formerly known as the sirk". Hopefully no one tries to pose as me...lol.
