If you are talking about the "legal" age of consent for sex (and I think you are), but regardless I think there should not be such a thing until marriage, which in my opinion should be 21.

In Australia I believe it is 16 for normal sex and 18 for anal sex. That means two gay males have to wait 2 more years than lesbians. and if you have a relationship with someone under 16 you can be charged with something..child abuse or pedophilia. But it should be 21 I think.

They changed it to 16 in NSW

my gay 'Christian' friend was 17 and breaking the law at the time.

I think the age should be 18.
If youre old enough to vote
old enough to die for your country
and old enough to work full time
You should be old enough to get married.

How ever if the age of consent for marriage was 15 i would have been married and divorced 5 times before i was 18.(haha)

I was married at 19, it has been about 4 years now, and im looking forward to the next 40 and so on!!!!

Was wondering about peoples opinions on this. Had a rather heated discussion in the bible study room last nite and was wondering what other peoples opinions are. When I was 15 I dated a 25 year old man for a year and included sexual relations. Her pursued me for over a year before we got together. Hind sight is 20 20 but now at 40 I can see where I was manipulated and pressed into a relationship with someone who initially I had no interest in. What was said in the room is that equal responsiblity should be placed on the 14 / 15 year old for their part in the relationship. When I was 15 I was seeking love in the wrong places. To me I was a CHILD... even in development and I should have been protected, not only by the system but buy my family as well. I was manipulated by someone very skilled in this area. It is my opinion that the age of consent should be at least 16 and there should definitely be strict rules with regards to age gaps between a 14/15 year and their choosen boyfriend. My thoughts are a 14/15 year old should not be with anyone over the age of 20 & a decade gap is just too much of a gap. Your thoughts?
Im in australia where the age of consent is 16, i would be shocked if it were reduced to 14/15! There needs to be some protection in place from predators, and as u stated u were very vulnerable at that age and can only see in hindsight what took place - there has to be protections in place to prevent that. I think even through to 18 in most cases there is still that vulnerability, and even in society in general that we dont get together for the right reasons and find out way too late when the years have past but the cycle just keeps repeating itself. i work in a shopping centre as a security officer and i see the kids coming and going as young as 13 and u can tell they are active. its very sad, and its not of God in any stretch of the imagination... but hey its a result or product of a society without God ( not a society without church and the vague idea of God :( ) - in the true sense of the meaning, the Kingdom of God really needs to come to earth as it is in heaven ( or in the spirit, in us, needs to be made manifest.) but its us believers that the kingdom is going to come in and through, its up to us! When we start cryin out again in desperation, we might see it. God bless our teens.
