Do you think saying sorry all the time is a bit of a cultural thing?

I think it might be in the UK but other UKians will have to give their
thoughts also.

I think a lot of people in the UK say it instead of pardon or excuse me,
so you accidentally bump into someone and say "oh excuse me" but now
instead people tend to say "oh sorry for that."

Most people who say sorry are not actually sorry it's just become an
every day word etc.

Sorry if I have got this wrong I apologiSe. Lol

I think so. I even have said that....."sorry about that". If we want respect I think we have to respect ourselves. Saying I'm sorry all the time denotes a lack of self respect and if a person doesn't have respect for their own personhood the world will honor that.

Yes the British are very polite. The language: could, would or don't they do that anymore?

Isn't sorry also some humility? I really am sorry the vast majority of times I say I am. Why respect myself for mistakes and/or sins made?

It certainly can be. But false humility can be hanging your head and kicking dirt. People have told me that I am very humble. It made me consider whether or not it became an idol for me.

It's funny how I had to read this a couple of times to grasp it. Not your fault. It is indicative of how important it is to understand someone before responding. I'm probably guilty of that on here quite a bit.

Gee! I hope the people can forgive me for invading their personal space by going into their respected offices without their permission to do some inventory. I don't like invading other people's personal space, it makes me feel guilty:(

A healthy person will tell you if you have crossed a boundary. An unhealthy person will keep it inside and it will come out sideways. A healthy person will notice it for what it is and confront it in a loving way. Those types of situations are fertile ground for showing the love of Christ. Perfect love casts out fear. I think you, like me are afraid of rejection.

I have an idea. Tell those people that it has always been uncomfortable for you to feel like you are invading their space. Then thank them for being gracious and allowing you to do what you have to do.

You are doing a few things with that. You are being vulnerable, open and honest. You are also being gracious by considering what may or may not be a problem for them and you are releasing yourself from being responsible for the effect it may or may not have on them. You are building trust and you are recognizing that you are important too.

If you're doing inventory, either they asked you to because it is their office, or the boss asked you to because it's not really their office.

That said, if the person is in the office, I would knock first.
