i actually became a healthnut when i was eating breakfast before school 1 day in 1974. it was a Muesli cereal that captured my attention. twas' extremely tasty.
I could do with some healthy eating too. I should probably ease back a tad on my consumption of powdered mini-donuts from Hostess.

For some reason I used to like bran flakes in milk with brown sugar.

We were poor so we didn't get honey smacks. We got kanga roos in the big plastic bag. Tasted just as good as honey smacks actually.

That was the one cheap cereal that did taste just as good as the name brand. Most of them did not taste as good as their official counterparts. Rice krispie imitations could break your teeth if you weren't careful and bit down on a rock hard rice kernel.

Whoever thought crushed rocks would be a good texture for a morning cereal definitely needs to be put in the Timeout Chair.

It seems our Official List of Foods That Have a Special Place in Food Hell now includes:

1. Miracle Whip

2. Margarine (except for those who can't have dairy)

3. Grape Nuts

Imagine being made to eat all 3 of these at once...:oops:
*Lynx goes off to make a casserole out of miracle whip, margarine, grape nuts, a little decaf coffee for flavor...

When you don't have a relative nearby who can cook chocolate oatmeal cookies, hostess and Little Debbie start looking pretty good.

I'm partial to the devil dogs myself. Yes that really is the name. I swear I didn't make that up.

Frosted Mini-Wheats fit my taste as much as my split personality , sweet on one side and wheat on the other.

As a child, I did the usual Saturday morning ritual of cereal and cartoons. I usually ate Honey Smacks or Apple Jacks, and once in a while Captain Crunch. I was in too much of a hurry to get ready for school during the weekdays to have breakfast. As a teen, I didn't want breakfast.
As an adult, I don't eat cereal often, I eat overnight oatmeal just about every morning. I always hated oatmeal until I started making overnight oatmeal.

Once in a while, as an adult, I do get the occasional nostalgic desire for breakfast cereal. When I do, I'll usually have it for supper since my mornings are reserved for oatmeal. My adult tastebuds seem to prefer HoneyComb. And as I typed that I now wish I had some HoneyComb...

Yeah, my wife drinks decaf too but occasionally will imbibe with a mug of high-test. I have been drinking coffee since I was about 9 or 10. Decaf is an abomination.
Not only an abomination but also probably something that guy downstairs has made for his own personal fun.
