The point is that it is a perfect model for us to look up to! None of us can come close to Christ. Does that mean we should remove him from the Bible?

Further, learn a bit about genre. Then you would understand that Proverbs are not true narratives. Just like parables in the NT are not real, but it was a common way to teach things, and we can learn so much from them. To say nothing of how often Jesus taught with parables.

I am not saying the Bible is lying, I am saying Proverbs 31 was not put there to be an example of a perfect woman. But rather to give us some goals to look at becoming, as Christian women.

Try reading "How to Read the Bible for all its Worth!" by Gordon Fee. It will introduce you to how to read the different kinds of writing, and where they come from.
If you really care to understand Proverbs 31, then you have to start with the first verse. It’s a mom giving advice to her son. She is telling him not to be enticed by women who will ruin him. Then she tells him to be sober and then gives him an example of a woman that is noble and valuable. Things aren’t valuable because they are common. They are valuable because they are rare. Not many, if any can aspire to fit this example. They just aren’t capable. It’s not that you need to wake up before dawn to prepare breakfast to be a good wife and mother. However, I’m sure if a woman could and did, she would be favoured. Mother in laws are always hypercritical of their son’s wives. This was never a message to women. It was from a mother to her royal son, who basically could pick who he wanted for a wife.

Also, what did you find so disagreeable about post 241. If you are going to criticize, then criticize. If you have some wisdom and insight that makes what I’ve stated to be incorrect then I’m interested to hear it. What child learns in school if the teacher merely put “X”s with no comment in the margin?

Where does it say this is the perfect model? Jesus isn't mentioned in it.

I didn't say it was a narrative. Just as parables they used real life examples.

Agreed.

sorry I havent read all the posts but OP was asking...

IN MY COUNTRY?

well I dont think theres much of a problem as everyone is paid the same in the jobs that they do regardless of gender for the most part.
The problem is that motherhood is not even paid. it earns a grand total of $0.00.

Fatherhood is handsomely rewarded provided one neglects ones own children.

PAY EQUITY for teacher aides landmark historic day!!!!!

after a four year battle.

the same job mostly men were doing in prisons that mostly women were doing in schools, men got paid more and women were being paid BELOW minimum wage. How is that fair and equal its not.

the reason why mostly women did it because women are fierce protectors of children and would even go without pay for the welfare of others. I have teacher aids both menand women in my school and schools across the country where support staff need to take TWO jobs just to cover the cost of living. the second job might pay more than the first one.

They were never paid during school holidays either, whereas teachers were. And most bosses would sneakily underpay people 60 percent less of what they should pay. They would promise, oh pay rise each year that didnt happened unless we all striked.

it took YEARS for people to realise this was not on because the ones at the top lived in this bubble where nothing ever affected them because they never did the work that those in the frontline need to do.

I feel like celebrating, last year guess what, on support staff day the bosses told us we could have a cup of coffee on them and....have a whole HALF hour break in a cafe!

It was luxury I tell you.

You seem to be having a disagreement over the meaning of 2 Corinthians 6:14. Here it is from the NASB:

Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?

The context of the verse is clearly about Christians and non-Christians. So, sorry, I'll have to agree with Kaylagrl on this; the verse has nothing whatsoever to do with equality between men and women.

Do you really consider working with criminals in a prison to be on a level with working with students in school?

it is the same job to stop people from fighting and being hurt. if you think its easy in a school think again.

unless you dont think children count as people, and criminals are not people with needs either.
or women arent people.

People are PEOPLE.

what part of UNEQUALLY yoked do people not understand?

Equality is what God wants for his people, and He even said unlike the Gentiles who Lord it over each other christians are NOT meant to do this.

Fallacy: equivocation.

You're emphasizing the "(un)equally" part and overlooking the "yoked" part. The verse simply does not say what you want it to say. Paul is telling Christians not to be joined with (married to or in business partnership with) unbelievers.

Snarling at others is not going to help you at all, especially when you are holding an erroneous view.

I have never in my life worked for a Christian business owner. Don't think that I've ever heard of one. Save for the priesthood..

Most people probably haven't, though I've had supervisors who were Christians.

For the Christian women do you want 100% equality within your country to that of man? Do you want a slight increase in equality? Or are you happy where you are?

How does your Biblical worldview see the feminist movements of today? Reasonable or radical?
The feminist movement does bother me...it’s too radical. personally, I think it gives women a bad name & aggravates men. Having said that men in power can get it wrong, but they’re more professional, and less emotionally led. Women in power seem to be where men were 50 years ago. (imo) 😐

I am sorry to hear that... and I did wonder if the expenditures you mentioned earlier were purchased from a sense of feelings of insecurity and a need to present a particular "image." Perhaps what she is asking is that you accept her as she is, for maybe she sees your attempts at correction as rejection :cry::unsure:
I believe that what you have stated is true in that an attempt at correction is perceived as a sign o rejection. That concept is probably in a psychology book somewhere.
