I had not heard of Todd Rundgren until, I don't know, late 1990's to early 2000's? I first found a bunch of MIDI files of his music and I really liked them. I didn't hear these original songs as they were sung until I opened an account on YouTube in 2008. I always liked his melodies but the lyrics made them even better! This is one of my favorite songs from Todd Rundgren. It's one of the cutest songs I've ever heard!

A Dream Goes on Forever (2015 Remaster)
(First released 1974)

A million old soldiers will fade away
But a dream goes on forever
I'm left standing here, Ive got nothing to say
All is silent within my dream

A thousand true loves will live and die
But a dream goes on forever
The days and the years all go streaking by
But the time is stopped within my dream

We all have our everyday hopes and fears
And you'll find no exception in me
But that doesn't get me through a sea of tears
Over life's biggest tragedy

You're so long ago and so far away
But a dream goes on forever
I guess I believe that I'll see you one day
For without it there is no dream

You're so far away and so long ago
But my dream lives on forever
How much I love you you'll never know
'Till you join me within my dream
How much I love you you'll never know
'Till you join me within my dream

i had that album, as well as A Wizard, A True Star, which is as pagan as anything.

a funny personal story about Todd and his then girlfriend, Karen. one relentlessly hot and humid August (1985), Karen and i were both in labor, and we has the same OB. they were in the room next to ours, and our little girl was coming faster than their son. our daughter was in the process of being born when the nurse came in and informed the doctor that Todd's son was crowning. he snapped, "what do you want me to do about it? i have my hands full here!"

well, i think the doc made it in time to deliver little Randy, but Todd was miffed. not at all happy with us. :sneaky:
they left the hospital early the next morning. i hope he's at least forgotten about it, even if he hasn't forgiven it. ;)

I had to do some digging, because I know I saw Heart in concert shortly after arriving in Vancouver,
and I am pretty sure that it was Donovan who opened up for them (unless Donovan opened up for
Yes when I saw them around the same time)
.:giggle:. Anyways, they played here December 29, 1977,
but I cannot find any other information about that concert. I know I loved it, and them
.:D

Concert tickets seemed expensive back then, even though I was working. Oh yeah!
Under ten dollars for a ticket to the time of your life, barely affordable LOL
