I think there will be one more pope after Benedict, one that has not yet come. Who knows if he somehow has links to the Jews in some way (or claims to have). Just my thoughts anyway.
Do you believe the Prophecy of the Popes?

Do you believe the Prophecy of the Popes?
What do you mean?

I was referring to this scripture....

Revelations 17: "There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition"

The 7 kings are 7 popes

So the 7th pope (current Pope, Benedikt XVI) will reign for a short time (he will either die or step down)
The 8th pope will replace the others and will be just like them. He will be the last Pope!

Rev 13:3: "I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast"

A Lateran treaty was signed in 1929 between the Italian Government and the Vatican re-establishing the political power and diplomatic standing of the Catholic Church, which had been lost when Italy seized Rome, the last of the Papal States, on September 20th, 1870.

These 7 popes came into power after the wound was healed in 1929, the birth of the Vatican State. They even put all these stamps together in memory of the treaty!

As far as the 8th pope, it could either be the current Black Pope (Adolfo Nicolas) or the current cardinal who is 2nd authority to Benedict (Tarcisio Pietro Evasio Bertone). But it may be neither. Who knows. Dont take this all as exact. These are just my thoughts regarding Lateran treaty, etc.

in all fairness the pope has been pretty self deluded about his own global influence since at least the 1800s...

even the vast majority of roman catholics themselves don't heed the vatican...the secular world cares even less what the vatican says...

i strongly doubt that the pope will be allowed to control anything outside of the 0.17 square miles that constitute vatican city in the near future...

anyway while we are guessing who the next pope might be...many people expect it to be cardinal francis arinze from nigeria...

arinze is very conservative like most of the other cardinals...so they would see him as acceptable if not excellent...

arinze is also the current cardinal bishop of velletri-segni...the same position held by cardinal ratzinger before he became the current pope...

arinze is also very well liked by many practicing roman catholics...he has a popular roman catholic TV show...

arinze will turn eighty later this year...which would be too old to participate in a conclave and actually vote for the next pope...but there is no age limit on the papacy itself...so he could still be elected...

another candidate that is favored by many prognosticators is angelo scola from italy...

I see what you're saying, but the pope is just the figure head. The Jesuits are the ones that protect the Vatican's interests. They're the dark driving force behind it all. Rome came from Babylon and are still here in 2012.

Remember, Rome had political, religious and monetary control over people back in the early centuries. They were government, they had their Roman religion and everyone had to use their Roman money, so one system. Are things heading in that same direction today? (Just a thought)

Re Jerusalem - if he gets his 2nd Vatican State there we can assume it'll be run the same way as in Rome - armed guards, governments (from all over the world) can come and go all the time. Picture that. I don't like the sound of this at all.

Could be. Online it says he has focused a lot on relations between Catholicism and Islam, the current pope is dealing with peace between Israel and Islam. The Islamic mosque stands in Jerusalem currently. No better way to get what you want than bring peace there with the Muslims.

In the UK, prince Charles speaks about his personal view of the link between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Of course, his definition of Christianity is likely different to ours.

Link --> “Special regime” in Jerusalem can not be governed by a Jew « News that matters

” Give the Pope Jerusalem, and he can govern it through a neutral administration, ensuring that both the Jews of Israel and the Muslims of Palestine obtain justice”.

Link --> Bishop Cranmer: Let the Pope preside over Jerusalem « News that matters

Thanks for sharing - this is important, but as old as the Bible! With the new Supreme Court Building in Israel, and with the US Supreme Court now dominated by Roman Catholics (5 out of 9), with John Roberts, Chief Judge proselytizing to Jesuit Schools (be it in Buffalo or at Georgetown in Wash. DC), with the illegitimate children in his house, we are seeing an important setting of a stage for the rise of The Beast ...

There was a point that Jews and Arabs did get along, till Zionism ideology plagued Israeli government. Arab states were stirred against each other and Israel. To provoke war, and death. It's to force prophesy into fruition.

Historically, the two never EVER got along. They didn't get along when both dwelled in Abraham's household (Ishmael & Isaac), they didn't get along when the Roman Empire crumbled, they didn't get a long after the Muslims assumed control and they most certainly don't get along now.

History speaks for itself.

The thread is now beginning to make a tapestry, weaving the bits and pieces of truth into a larger whole. Prince Charles, through the Queen is the head of the Masonic Order. The Masonic Order has a plan to use, indeed, incite, the polarity between Islamic Fundamentalism at one end, and Zionism at the other end to foment war. The Jesuits are players in the game, but mostly because they have a religious cover that is participating in all the same things. Most of these topics have been covered in other threads. This thread could become more comprehensive by detailing these and related issues.

One such thread on this forum is:
