Immigration is a big issue right now here in the U.S.
Down at the border there are so many protestors for and against these kids that are fleeing persecution. I have seen news casts talking to some of these people, and some say they are Christian but are totally against them coming here.
Why are so many Christians against housing, and helping them ? They want to just send them back to that persecution with out any care in the world.

We know the bible says we are to follow mans laws as if they were given by God Himself, but we also know that it only applies if it does not contradict God.

What does the bible say about immigrants ? Lets look at a few.......

Leviticus 19:33-34

“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.


Exodus 22:21

“You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt


Hebrews 13:2

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares


Isaiah 16:3-4

“Give counsel; grant justice; make your shade like night at the height of noon; shelter the outcasts; do not reveal the fugitive; let the outcasts of Moab sojourn among you; be a shelter to them from the destroyer. When the oppressor is no more, and destruction has ceased, and he who tramples underfoot has vanished from the land.

Yes it is, and I have felt the Holy Spirit pulling at my heart to start this thread.

It is grieving the Holy Spirit that so many Christians have hatred in their heart instead of living in love, compassion, and caring for the safety of another.

Let's be fair. The USA accepts more immigrants than any country in the world. We can't save the world.

I know we can not save the whole world, but there is a big difference in one who comes here to just better their lives and end up getting all kinds of tax exemptions and grants that us citizens don't get.

And those that come here to flee being persecuted or killed. They do not come in here and hide, they come here and go straight to the authorities and ask for help.

Instead of helping they want to just pass a bill to send more money to send them back faster. Pretty much saying screw you, I don't care if you get beat up or killed to those who are wanting protection.

It is a crime against Heaven for the US to encourage illegal immigration. Many children are dying trying to cross the border, and the coyotes who get paid to lead them across often abuse them.

Either make it legal for them to come, or enforce the current law. This current mess is the moral equivalent of throwing money into a tank of piranha to see who'll try and get it out.

The kids who are coming here now, that are causing the main issue are trying to flee persecution and even death. To just send them back to that situation would be against God.

One way or the other we are to protect them from this persecution. Either keep them here and house them, or go down and make a safe zone for them to live.

Like I said there is a big difference between those who are coming here illegally to just better their lives, and the dozens of kids who are coming here now to flee persecution and/or death.

Politicians don't want to do either because if they do the first then they'll be seen as being too soft on immigration and alienate voters. If they do the second then they'll lose their cheap help.

All of immigration needs to be reformed. If they are coming here just to live better and by making more money then they do need to be made to take the steps to come legally, and then when they do get here legally they need to be treated no different than any other American. Not given special grants or tax breaks that we don't get.

But if they are fleeing persecution and death, then we should take them in legal or not to protect them. And before we send them back need to develop, like I have heard from others, a safe zone for them to live in.

I've not heard that they are fleeing persecution. Why are they being persecuted?

I believe that job would be better served by OAS: Organization Of American States and/or the United Nations (UN).

The gang violence is so bad down there that it makes the worse gang violence we have here in America look like child's play.
All the kids are forced to join gangs, or be beaten or killed if refuse.

If I could take some in I would. It is not love like God told us to have for others if you send them back just to be beat up and slaughtered.

I am for any group as long as they are for the safety, and health of those they are trying to help.

Those countries in question are ruled by some ruthless, wealthy families backed by the military and the U.S. In Honduras, there are 8 of these families and they care very little about their people. The U.S. can put pressure on them but will weaken their own cause to fight the drug cartels. Her family own one of the largest bananas plantations in Honduras.

The drug cartel is the problem, and it wouldn't shock me if we ended up in another war over this. IT breaks my hear to see young, unaccompanied children sent here, but the numbers are so high it isn't an easy fix. These kids are put up in warehouses for shelter. We can't just find a foster family for them as soon as they cross the border.

That's the problem. There really isn't an easy or right solution to this mess.

I met 20 years ago a member of one of the wealthiest families in Honduras. Her family owned one of the bigger bananas plantations in Honduras. She was married to a very wealthy American business associate.
