Hi Lynn.

I'm working out of town this week and staying with some friends. My friends wife has no lost love for Trump. We talked about it a little and she still doesn't agree with me nor do I completely agree with her. But we listened to each other and didn't insinuate that the other is a stupid fanatical brainwashed idiot and we remain friends. I think that is how mature adults are supposed to operate in the world.

Seems like? Seriously? Does that mean you simply didn't vote last time or that you didn't do the homework to vote? It was four years ago. Surely there should be knowledge on who he is, not "seems like."

Yes, he was too left for me, and yet he was the type of man I want in the White House because he had something needed in the oval office -- integrity!

If religion has to do with your vote, then, obvious question -- why Trump? Romney may have a funky religion, but it still beats Donald's.
I voted for Romney. Not sure how much integrity he has tho. I think he is as beholden to his donors as Obama is.

Pointing out someone's seething hatred does not make one guilty of also having seething hatred. If you believe it does then you believe Jesus is filled with seething hatred.
your problem is that you -didn't- point out any 'seething hatred'...i even gave you the opportunity to point out examples of 'seething hatred' in this thread...which you neglected to do...

repeating the same slander over and over without evidence does not make it true...

you seem to be confusing someone having moral standards and disapproving of your attitudes and actions with someone having 'seething hatred'...but it is a common liberal misunderstanding...for example when they call the biblical teaching on sexuality 'hate'...

I also sort of wonder where Romney stood on tpp, the 2nd amendment. Cuz the guy sure seems like a closet liberal. Just curious Rachel, what qualifications must a person meet to be qualified for president in your eyes.
first of all i make a distinction between 'qualified' and 'fit' for office...qualifications depend more on experience and policy while fitness for the office is a character thing...

since you are responding to posts in which i refer to a candidate's fitness for office...i am going to assume that you actually want to know what traits a person needs to be fit for office...

if i had to list the minimum traits that a person needs to possess in order to be fit for the office...these four come to mind...

sanity...no mental instability or personality disorders that could produce serious lapses in judgment...

integrity...even if they are on the wrong side of an issue they should at least be sincerely wrong...

respect for the constitution...that document should limit and govern their behavior in office and if they aren't committed to letting it do that they then have no business in office...

finally they should not be evidently guilty of any serious crime...by 'serious' i mean a speeding ticket does not make someone unfit for office...

applying these to past and current candidates...romney passed on all four...obama clearly failed on two in his first presidential campaign and by his reelection it was evident that he had failed on all four...hillary clearly fails on at least two as of now...and trump fails on all four...

This sounds more like a presumption of guilt or innocence based on opinion than it does as having any actual basis or resemblance to any facts on the matter. Lol. But it's your ship. You sail it however you see fit.

Hey, I am a Christian but, for the first time ever, I cannot vote simply because my old standards -- vote for the lesser of two evils -- doesn't work. It's evil against evil. Now what?

I don't hate either. I hate how low our country has sunk to pick these two. Bot of them terrify me in ways like Obama does. They preach selective hate.
Amen to this Lynn, but you're not saying you dislike both of them but only scathing one.

Lynn, you said:

Nah! You're just wrong. This site overflows with arrogant people. After all you and I are both on it. I will leave the rest of the list off simply because I don't talk about people behind their backs.

I say:

Many arrogant people -- yes; but one has to top that list. :)

So what bothers you about Trump is he didn't murder someone in NYC?

Wow, with that logic, then what bothers me about Hillary is her lavender hair!
i have absolutely no idea how you could have possibly read this conversation and concluded that what bothers me about trump is that he hasn't murdered anyone...

You're entire tenure on CC speaks for itself and its free for all to see.

Don't admit it openly, that's fine. We both know the truth.

Now the Mod said not to make things personal and I'm trying to abide. Carry on.

So far we've gotten. He's not fit for office because he is insane, because he lacks the character traits as you see as fitting for the office. He's a criminal with mafia ties. He hates handicapped people and he said he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and idiots like me would still vote for him. He's a hot head who doesn't understand how to run a country and possibly he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He's been married 3 times, he wants to sleep with his daughter and he beats the crap out of his dog when he comes home at night. Anything you wanna add to that? Lol

i think mature adults also aren't supposed to ask for someone's opinion when they don't actually want to hear it...

did i not just say hillary clinton is unfit for office?

the reason why i may give one candidate more negative attention on here than the other...is because hillary clinton doesn't have anyone angrily rushing to her defense if i say anything negative about her...

I get it Rachel. I want to like you and I want you to like me. And it is funny that you quoted me and you're right. However, I've never passed my opinion on this site as a settled matter. If any words I've said on here gave that impression, the heart behind it wasn't that. I just don't want to be called an idiot or insinuated to be one.

My question is 70% of whom? And are you sure you wanna sail your ship with that demographic?

i have no idea how he treats his dog and you left out his wanton disregard for the first and second and fourth amendments of the constitution...

What I really wanna know is.....do democrats know how to build anything?...much less a wall. All the democrats I work for, hire me cuz they are incapable of doing anything for themselves. Lol. I'll bet they'll hire contractors to build their security wall.
I hear they are good at building a bigger bureaucracy and for coming up with lotsa nanny laws to pay for that bureaucracy. :p
