Mexican Illegal immigrant and gang member with long criminal history 'stabbed and beat a mother to death' in California as police slam sanctuary cities that protected him from ICE

An illegal immigrant with a lengthy criminal history has been charged with beating and stabbing a mother to death inside her home in California.
Carlos Eduardo Arevalo Carranza, 24, was arrested on Monday for the murder of 59-year-old Bambi Larson, who was found dead at her home in San Jose on February 28.
Police say Carranza, who has no address and is a known gang member, stalked Ms Larson through her neighborhood before breaking into her home and attacking her.
San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia also revealed Carranza's lengthy criminal history, which began in 2013 when he was arrested crossing the border illegally in Texas and deported back to Mexico.
That was followed by ten arrests and at least three convictions for offences ranging from drug possession to battery, false imprisonment and burglary.
When he was arrested for Larson's murder, Carranza was on probation for possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, false imprisonment and burglary.
Garcia also revealed that ICE had applied nine times for a detainer on Carranza, a move which allows suspects to be held longer than their prison term so their immigration status can be investigated by federal officials.

Another article:

On Wednesday, Santa Clara County pushed back on local officials who claimed the county’s policies allowed an undocumented murder suspect to be repeatedly released from jail without any call to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement despite an active detainer request by ICE.
San Jose police announced Tuesday that Arevalo Carranza was an undocumented immigrant and admitted gang member who had been arrested numerous times.
On Monday, police announced they had arrested Arevalo Carranza, who is believed to be homeless, and booked him into Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of murder.

The case brought forth outcry from Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia, who said the county’s refusal to honor detainer requests and notifications allowed Arevalo Carranza to be released from county jail without notifying federal authorities.
During a news conference Wednesday, Santa Clara County Counsel James Williams said the county is acting on state law, which has deemed it a violation of due process to detain inmates in jail for an extended time due to an ICE request.

Record $120 billion sent home to 3 top nations flooding US with illegal immigrants

Immigrants from the three Central American nation’s sourcing many illegal border crossers sent a record amount of money home last year, bringing the total this decade to $120 billion.

...

And newly released Central American bank data said that the record breaking has continued this year.

The so-called “remittances” have been in the focus of some immigration reform advocates who want to tax the transfers. Proponents said that a tax on the money, some of which is collected under the table and outside payroll taxes, could help pay for President Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico.

Under one proposal that failed to pass Congress, remittances would be taxed 7 percent. Pew Research Center revealed in January that immigrants in the United States sent home $138 billion in 2016 alone. A 7 percent tax would raise nearly $10 billion, enough to fund building the wall in three years.

“These huge numbers also suggest that the United States should follow the lead of Oklahoma, and start collecting a share of the remittances to help mitigate the costs of illegal immigration. You could build a wall with some of that money, compensate victims of illegal immigration, and much more – and Congress should do it,” said immigration expert Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies.

...

“The sums of money involved are huge, particularly as a share of GDP and personal income in the Central American countries. It offers a big clue as to why these countries are giving only token efforts to stem the tide of migrants to the United States, especially El Salvador and Honduras,” said Vaughan, who regularly testifies before Congress on immigration policy.

“A good leader would try to develop other ways to build the economy, that benefit more people, instead of just those who have family in the United States. They are betting that the United States will never have the will to enforce its laws, and that’s been a good bet so far,” she told Secrets.

That amount is over 10 years.

I'm sure lots of Canadian immigrants send money "overseas" to family - I used to send me dad cash to help him out.

Yes, my parents did send money back home, but they were in Canada legally and followed all the legal steps to make it so...from the way I read the article above these are illegal immigrants.

Remittance

This article is about the transfer of money by migrant workers. For a payment sent by a customer to a business, see remittance advice. For an allowance sent to an exiled person on condition that they do not return home, see remittance man.

A remittance is a transfer of money by a foreign worker to an individual in their home country. Money sent home by migrants competes with international aid as one of the largest financial inflows to developing countries. Workers' remittances are a significant part of international capital flows, especially with regard to labour-exporting countries.[1]

According to the World Bank, in 2018 overall global remittance grew 10% to US$689 billion, including US$528 billion to developing countries.[2] Overall global remittance is expected to grow 3.7% to US$ 715 billion in 2019, including US$549 billion to developing nations.[2]

The US should bus all of the illegals to Canada. For as large as that country is they have virtually no population to speak of. The state of California alone has a larger population then the entire population of Canada.
