That's fine we can agree to disagree and you don't have to believe in the freemasonry stuff.... but I don't pledge allegiance to any country....because they are just men....and not God....to pledge allegiance to America will be pretty hard considering the dark path it's been on especially espousing homosexual viewpoints a thing God detests greatly in any nation....just saying.

Does that make Gods people any less Gods people? In the world not of the world. Didn't God make us socially inclined? People make God into such a hateful spiteful puny little thing that can't handle his creation. That he created us with certain attributes and inclinations and then hates us for it.

First off..I love America..even with the racism,abortions,greed, whatever. I'd rather live here than any other Country on Earth. We may not be perfect but I wouldn't want to live in a country without adequate food, sewage systems, healthcare, or electricity. Now as far as pledging to a scrap of brightly colored cotton? Well I've done it all through school. .But school days are long gone. Would I salute the flag now?? Yes I definitely would because I have sense enough to know where my real help comes from and His name is Jesus.

My point exactly. You aren't pledging allegiance to a rag...but to an ideal and to your fellow citizens. To endeavor to uphold the laws of the land that are necessary for an orderly society.

By the way ..both stars and stripes are very symbolic in Christian symbolism... how any AMERICA "Christian" could have a issue with the flag is a mystery to me. We folks in the south (who have been oppressed by northern liberals) are the only folks that could have issue with the flag...and we don't :)

I often think, the whole people being against the Confederate flag thing, they claim to because it represents slavery. But the flag of the US, it once stood for the same thing. I dont see a difference between the two : p

(The war was not started to end slavery, it was started because the south feared the north wanted to give to much power to the government meaning less power for the states, and fought for the path they thought was best. Power to the state and not being ruled by a centralized power)

Why pledge allegiance to the flag? That just means we pledge allegiance to what the flag means. America is not the great country she used to be. So pledging allegiance to a flag is stupid, just look at the ones who pledge their allegiance to the rainbow gay pride flag. They know full well what that flag stands for. Do WE REALLY know what the American flag stands for? just saying...

If a person wants to take a shallow view of it they have the right to it. That is one of the many many things that the republic stands for.

The republic, not the flag... At the end of the day I don't learn the history of this country just by looking at a flag. And buying one and having it fly in my front yard doesn't make me "more of an American" like people try to make it out to be. Should Christians pledge allegiance to anything of this world, by the way?

Do christians take vows to get married? Is it biblical to do that? Is a vow and allegiance even the same thing?

Actually yes, because you're getting married under the one true God. Society might not seem to think so, but the vows of marriage pretty much line up with what the Bible has to say about it.

pretty much? I thought close enough isn't quite good enough. Besides....the divorce rate among Christians is as high as non Christians. Seems people are making promises they can't keep. Been married twice but I've never divorced my country.

Besides. A vow is making a promise based on a future you cannot be certain of. Allegiance is much more than that.

Can't control what other Christians do. And I didn't know divorcing one's country meant not "pledging allegiance" to a flag. I thought divorcing a country would be turning one's back on it. Idolizing a flag is exactly what it is. Idolatry.
