That is very true and I agree, but here's my thinking who is making that claim? I don't think Willie was saying that you go play GTA V then go into a blind rage state and a murder spree, more suggesting that the violent content we feed ourselves from the shows we watch, the games we play, the music we listen to, hour after hour, day in and day out, from cradle to grave may have an effect on how we think. Is that the "cause", no of course not, but I think to tell yourself it as no effect at all is a little naive.
No I'm not going to listen to a song, be "taken over" and kill because the song/game/movie "made me" that's silly, but I can tell you I would listen to certain music on my way to fights or "problem solving" when I was younger to get pumped up and ready to hurt someone. I'n my experience it defiantly had an effect, but honestly I think that is more what Willie was taking about, you can't just take his point, turn it into a straw man version you can easily dismiss and think that refutes his real point. Can I ask you if you truly feel feeding yourself nothing but violent content on these levels from all angles really has no effect on how we think or see things? I'm not saying at all that it's the "thing's" fault that these kind of take place, you don't play a game then kill someone because of the game, but if the game can't be blamed the the gun can't either.
