If churches banned all their sinners they wouldn't have anyone left.

There is a difference in falling and committing a sin and living a lifestyle of sin.

Everyone lives a lifestyle of sin. If we didn't we'd have no need of Jesus.

There is a huge difference between a open sin being promoted and being seen as accepted and hidden sins that believers are involved in. Anytime a person claiming to represent Christ is seen to approve sin...it is a sin against Christ and His righteousness. It opens doors to the enemy to corrupt the whole body of believers. What if I came to your church and professed I was a adulterous christian. I like other men's wives.. would you allow me in? Would you be suprised if adultery started to spread in your church? You let the devil in and he will wreck your house. It's a spiritual law.

After we are saved we don't continue to live a lifestyle of sin.

If someone quietly comes to church and doesn't cause trouble there is no reason to kick them out. Just my opinion. Now if someone is promoting it, openly advocating for it etc they should get the boot.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
You use a scripture out of its context and purpose ...it also goes to say those who sin have never known Christ ... Of course John is speaking in a bit of a mystery about the righteousness we have in Christ

I think that's exactly what is going on with the gay issue ..its being promoting openly and aggressively

Here John is speaking in the context of "If we say we have no sin" Like if we say we have never had any sin..

There was this group here several years ago that were protesting outside of one of the churches here. They had signs telling this church to 'purge its sinners' etc. Gets a little westboro for me when "christians' do that kind of thing.

I also know people who come to church every sunday, don't cause problems, aren't trying to sleep with other peoples wives etc but party like rock stars on the weekends as well. If we're gonna start kicking people out of church then we should at least be fair about it and not just kick someone out who is openly gay or whatever.

How do they handle people who are living together unmarried coming to church? I say let them keep coming as long as they don't cause conflict and keep hitting them with truth....that it's not okay.
It depends, do they claim to be Christian?

If they do, Paul had a pretty good strong arm approach :)...

1Co 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 1Co 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
1Co 5:3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
1Co 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1Co 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Actually they should be confronted privately before it gets out of hand.

Like I said ..I don't think there is an organized attempt to make adultery or causual sex and drunkenness into a accepted Christian vitue ...I believe this issue gets raised so much because it is being forced upon the church as a issue.

If the terrorist had hit a stripe club or a swingers club...would we have churches trying to justify those folks too as if they was saints? Its insane ... its insane what the terrorist did ..its insane that there are sick clubs like this and its insane that certain "churches" are trying to call good what is evil.

Ya I agree. Not so much in my area. We are still pretty untainted by that sort of thing here but it's moving in fast. Lot's of californians moving here and bringing their "values" with them. I have seen people walk out of our church on the occasion where our pastor has talked about the gay issue and it being against God and all. I also know of one unmarried couple who claim that they can't find in the bible where premarital sex is a sin and they keep on keeping on. They actually said that to my pastor. Lol. I don't think they've been asked to leave as far as I know but they might have decided not to attend anymore on their own.

At any rate, I think if people want to come quietly and hear Gods word, I don't see a problem with it. If they are causing trouble and that sort of thing I think they would be asked to not darken the door of the church again. I think there is a pretty big difference between one of the gay nazi types and someone who is broken and is simply caught up in a lifestyle such as the gay one and is searching. At least some grace, attention and discernment should be given them.

I'll tell you who really bug the crap outa me are the holy huddle types. You know the types who look down on others for tattoos or they way they look or whatever. I for one would have no problem telling them to find another church.

Ok, so we have bashed this out for quite some time on this forum. I think we need to separate how we would respond to homosexuals that aren't saved and ones who claim salvation and claim to be homosexuals and that feel it is ok to be one.

So hypothetical. New couple comes to church and they are definitely gay and holding hands and showing owtward love toward each other. How does the church handle this?

Next hypothetical. Individual has been in the church for years and claims to be a Christian. This individual comes out that he/she is gay and feels there is nothing wrong with it. He/she brings their gay significant other to church with them and are holding hands like the previous couple. How does the church handle this?

I believe the bible is pretty clear on the second hypothetical.
I'd take out my Romans 1:28-32 "Reprobate Minds" sermon.
