Jesus did expose the self-righteousness of the Pharisees but He did not walk the streets condemning the lost. He invited them to follow Him. They would never have followed the Lord Jesus if He made them feel rejected by Him.

Pharisee: self-righteous people who put heavy burdens on others to obey religious law "or else."
Jesus used the law to show people they where "sinners" and needed Him as their Savior...without folks seeing their sin, they have no need for a Savior.....telling gays its ok to be gay and promoting their sin is to deny them the saving grace of Christ.

No. 1 - Jesus would not protest with signs and criticism. Jesus invites people to Him, not condemns them.

No. 2 - Why would you expect anything else but intolerance and violent opposition from spiritually blind people?

No. 3 - This is sensationalism created by the media to make money for journalists and anchor persons.

Anything is considered "news" as long as the wolves profit by buzzing the minds of the sheep.

Just because they didnt spread your unbiblical false gospel does not mean they didnt spread the gospel.
I have just as much right to be here as you do unless you want to pay my phone bill. If you do not like my presence here then I present you with two options. 1 take it up admin.. 2.. Put me on ignore... And the walk away and wipe the dust from your feet reference simply means that our time here on earth is too precious to waste it on those who do not want to hear it

The only storm seems to be by those who are promoting wickedness and would stone those who promote godliness.
Interesting how violet is defending people who beat up some guys who were spreading the gospel and is acting like some kind of repressed martyr.

I asked you a question though. You are clearly not a christian and you are only here to troll Those who are.

WHY are you here? WHAT do you gain by lying and saying you are a christian?

Are you delusional and actually believe that disregarding God's word is the fruit of a believer? Are you a troll that enjoys wasting your time on this site?

I have been a Christian for 10 years now and have been delivered from drugs and alcohol. The point you are missing here is that if you want someone to convert to your then you do so by showing that person love and not by being overly intrusive or aggressive. Being overly aggressive will only make the person defensive and you will get nowhere. Jesus Christ would probably tell these people that he loves him and that he offers them a way out. I do not believe Jesus Christ would force himself on anyone.

I have to somewhat agree with you there.I believe Jesus was very direct but he did not force anyone to follow him.As with the rich young ruler. You cant take away free choice.

Besides!

God is able enough to show thunders and tornados to TALK aloud -to be publicly heard- (and feared) but, as I see in the "purgatory" of this earthly life, He has given all human kind, each person, to give a bite of THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT... If I keep on bitting it, I would be cursed eternally, and sent away with those demonds who rebeled against the will of God, in heavenly places, and were utterly casted out to this earth.

Paradise and "hell" could be nearby here.

Ok, so John was responsible for his beheading/murder..........oh, ok.............and I suppose Paul was as well......and Stephen.....and others............well, I suppose so

If we accept the logic of some here, then EVERY CHURCH who dispatches MISSIONARIES anywhere in the world needs to IMMEDIATELY recall them to avoid OFFENDING someone and having said Missionaries suffer persecution.

Boy, that'll show them durn unbelievers! We just WON'T go and teach all Nations........shoot, forget them!
I'm not sure how you can read that from my post, but let me ask you ...

Where was Paul ever confrontational in presenting the Gospel? Peter? Philip? Even the soliloquy of Stephen is not confrontational. It is in the form of a defendant's argument before a criminal court.

There is a difference between telling the straight truth, as Peter did with all of Jerusalem when he spoke in the Outer Court at Pentecost, and -- using Dude's example -- getting in a gay man's face and yelling "Turn or burn!" Peter's speech invoked shame and conviction.

The idea of yelling in someone's face -- even someone hopelessly lost -- with an accusatory though true phrase like that latter is sheer provocation, leading to a fight, not salvation. There isn't a good missionary in the world anywhere that is "witnessing" like that, or in the extreme unlikelihood there is one, he/she won't be on the field very darn long, I can guarantee.

Matthew 23

Seven Woes on the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees

[SUP]13 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. [SUP][14] [/SUP]
[SUP][b][/SUP]
[SUP]15 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]“Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ [SUP]17 [/SUP]You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? [SUP]18 [/SUP]You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ [SUP]19 [/SUP]You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? [SUP]20 [/SUP]Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. [SUP]21 [/SUP]And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. [SUP]22 [/SUP]And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. [SUP]24 [/SUP]You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. [SUP]26 [/SUP]Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. [SUP]28 [/SUP]In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
[SUP]29[/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. [SUP]30 [/SUP]And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ [SUP]31 [/SUP]So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. [SUP]32 [/SUP]Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!
[SUP]33 [/SUP]“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? [SUP]34 [/SUP]Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. [SUP]35 [/SUP]And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.
[SUP]36 [/SUP]Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.
[SUP]37 [/SUP]“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. [SUP]38 [/SUP]Look, your house is left to you desolate. [SUP]39 [/SUP]For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’

What if some knuckle headed Christian had come along and convinced you that you really didn't need to be delivered from your sins that in fact you should continue in your sin and destroy yourself... That's whats going on now

Context...LOST SOULS. In this case the pharisees with their hardened hearts require a harsh word...I believe the same holds true for those who have hardened themselves flagrantly against God, as in Rom 1...a harsh word is needed.
Now to those who see their sin of homosexuality and want free etc., then yes, the love of Christ is given to them.

Law is given to the obstinate and self righteous ...
Those things are only rightly judged by the Lord Jesus. I don't see anywhere we are told to judge the lost or self-righteous -- only the wayward brother or siser, and not for condemnation but chastisement, which is always done in love.

... and the comfort of the Gospel to the broken.
And the "broken-to-be" who have to hear the Gospel to be broken, but they will not be anything but offended with a sign and a hurled three-word epithet that is supposed to pass for "short-hand truth" shouted right in their face.

That's why both the law and gospel need to be given. The law reveals our sin, the Gospel reveals the Savior. God applies the medicine as needed.
No one here saw the actual sceen unfold before the melee, but some are painting some strange pictures of crazy rabid preachers. I know at the 45sec mark alledgedy "Jesus died for your sins" was said. Tone? Don't know.
I gotta go, momma's calling.

Ill put it this way to those of you who think that these people are being "confrontational" and not sharing the gospel right.

i like the way they share the gospel better than the way you dont.

Much of what has been said on here is in support of confrontational gospel preaching. What is seen on the film is not only confrontational, but unChristlike on the part of the two street preachers. Do you imagine Jesus wrestling over a sign? I certainly don't.

The gay pride marchers were obviously worse, and more confrontational, but a sign that says "Repent or else ... " and the phrase "Repent or go to hell!" is either a woefully ineffective Gospel presentation, or a deliberate effort to antagonize an already hostile crowd. Either way, it is not street preaching. It is not the Gospel.

And you don't know how, when, or where anyone on here shares the gospel, so kindly withhold the judgment of others for things you can know, please.

And what's with the Joel Olsteen avatar anyway? He doesn't even know the Gospel, much less preach it.
