this is why public hospitals which are free (in my country) are often underfunded. I guess americans dont have public healthcare at all. only rich can afford it.
There are no free hospitals in America to my knowledge, maybe for the veterans and disabled, they may get financial assistance. Even before I was in the USA Obamacare was too much for my husband it's not exactly free, then he had to pay a yearly penalty because Obamacare system also punished you for not having healthcare. You are not automatically rich and privileged if you have less melanin. Yes this is poor vs rich chasm. Yet it's made into a racial thing because someone profits from all this chaos and destruction and I bet you it won't be hospitals. The people always lose.

Nothing is free. Some taxpayer somewhere is paying for it as well as employers. You can go to emergency here and they cannot turn you away...or so I am told. Come to think of it though, I knew someone who had a compound fracture and no insurance and they fixed her up, including a pin in her leg to hold it together (gruesome break)

Of course they will probably bill you later. Frankly, I find the health care system here to be about money far too much. I don't agree with it. It also takes quite a bit of navigation and making sure you are not sent for unnecessary treatment or tests.

When you reach 65 it seems you do have health care providers wherein you do not pay private insurance which is also kind of outrageous. Maybe they should stop giving it all away to illegals.

I think Trump did away with that?

if cornelius, a roman solider could convert, and Saul, a pharisee, as well as Nicodemus then there is hope for those in high positions to change.

send the Bibles to the police and pray they know who Jesus is.

I don't know if it's fully repealed but after some time Trump dismantled it enough that he didn't have to pay the penalty for being poor, basically.

well there are poor whites in america too. its just the legacy of slavery in the south that most poor people are black. so its more a reality for them.

well in america they dont truly understand democracy. everyone seems afraid if they arenot the majority that things wont turn out great for them. thats why minorities feel they have to speak up because if they are outnumbered with votes they can never influence anybody by sheer numbers.
There is never a one party system in the US and if you check it out, there have been both parties in the White House. Remember Obama? Clinton? etc

And has been pointed out, the United States is not a democracy.

Should voting be about influencing people? Or is it a privilege and not open to those who are not even citizens?

Is it a question of being poor or a question of outrageous amounts of money? I thought it was the latter?

We live in the south... I wouldn't agree with that statement...

when you are poor it seems you still have to keep having to pay the rich for the basics.
its never really fair.

even tithing...ten percent of nothing is nothing but a person who earns ten times as much can easily take a pay cut but those on minimum wage cannot.

If you are hung up on the command to tithe, perhaps do a study on whether or not that command applies in the New Testament.

What do you mean by paying the rich for the basics?

well you need to go north to places like chicago.....and see the slums there.
But you just said though... that it's a lot worse in the south? I'm about to give up reasoning with you

i suppose in america each state is like its own mini country or kingdom with its own ways of doing things.
there is a real disconnect amongst people...not sure why they think they are 'united'.

I am talking about how people think if you're white you must be privileged, rich etc.

OK. Understand now. Well, that's a part of the misconceptions people here are expressing they actually believe.

I know better. As it is, rich people have plenty of problems too and you cannot take it with you. ;) And lest the rumor start I am a millionaire, I am not. A millionaire. LOL!

Sometimes, choices people make have a direct connection to whatever it is they are complaining about.

Good because you dont really see it. people have suffered a long time. they wont often tell you what they suffered cos they just want to get on with life until they cant.
