I don't see it as "slandering' Cruz as much as "revealing" the Enquirer for what they really are.
The purpose of the Article in the Enquirer was to do as much damage as possible to Cruz and his Candidacy.......I don't think the Enquirer folks are Christian..........dunno, maybe? But, they don't seem to care who they slander.
As for being appropriate here on C.C.
I would suggest you venture over to the BDF and review some of the threads there!
This is the News Forum, and when FNC/CNN/and the other Media outlets began to report on it, it did become News.
There is another thread here displaying the "silly" stuff, and the "nasty" stuff being said about one of the Candidates or the other...........showing how messy/nasty this Political process truly is.

That sure was a strange way of "revealing" the Enquirer for what they really are ( which I agree with you 100% that the Enquirer is trash )....but the poster said "It wouldn't surprise me a bit if it's true."....the intent of posting the article was made clear to malign a fellow brother in the Lord and to cause suspicion which has been unfounded . That is what is disturbing to me....

I happen to agree with that............AND when I was posting the NUMEROUS comments about how easily believers lay aside their Faith when they enter the voting booth...........I didn't get too very much support...........soooooo, I kinda know how it feels........

I have a strong feeling that this whole affair thing started with Trump. Considering that he is good friends with Mr. Pecker. My theory is that Mr. Trump did not like what a PAC did about the public photos on his wife and used it as an excuse to lash out at Mr. Cruz and his family.
You know what that tells me? Either, Mr. Trump is ashamed that his wife posed for pictures in the nude or he gave the idea to the PAC for more publicity to start drama with Mr. Cruz.
Often times we forget who these men are. They are not the savior, they are not going to suddenly make america perfect. Mr. Trump likes to play dirty, because he's an entertainer. He understands what will catch the peoples eye and says things that play with peoples' favor through their emotions. The crazy thing is, what Mr. Trump says has very little substance.
Mr. Cruz has his faults too. I highly doubt that any of them include affairs. He' voted on a bill that wasn't what was best for us, sometimes he hasn't been there to vote for bills because he's campaigning. BUT that is the price every Senator pays when they decide to run for president. The people who work for him ran some ads that weren't accurate. He apologized and took responsibility for it. These people are humans, you know: imperfect.
