Some people tend to shop for goods and not even think about other shoppers. I think that's a bit selfish. Why stock up on cases of water, tissue, etc, and not attempt to think about other families that's in need.

I think they want to scare us into spending.
Spend, spend, spend, keep the economy rolling.

I agree 100% I do get in trouble at times with I am about to say, so if you don't like it, sorry. When a person loads up on things as a way to be ready for what ever comes, (note I am talking about anything, and everything) it shows a lack of faith. We are told By Yeshua, in Mat. 24 (not a quote) that when the time comes we are flee to the mountains. Not to go inside to get anything. So if we follow the Word, how will you take it with you? Be hard to always carry 50 gallons of water. Add to that all the other things you have stored up.

Or water purification tablets and a well practiced fire source to boil water you find. Collecting rainwater can even serve in a pinch.

I'm sure there are plenty of guides on how to find non-visible water (like the signs in a rocky arid location to find where it collects typically). That sounds like reasonable preparation.

Certainly no one should count on their "stash" being accessible in the event of a true emergency.

Perhaps I'll consider a thread on this topic. This is the stuff few seem to even want to learn and it is hard by yourself and probably of limited utility if you aren't ever placed in such a situation but emergency preparedness (beyond supplies) does allow for a calmer engagement of serious situations I find.

Well, there's two issues there. If you don't get it, hoarders will and the shelves will be bare. COVID showed us that. Second, if I have extra I can help family and friends when shelves are empty.

Perhaps, but people are hoarding therefore others have to be prepared or do without.

Umm we're not talking about end times. We are talking about situations like COVID and now inflation, whoever you care to blame for that. The Bible also tells us to prepare for our families. I saw people around the country were hoarding and told my family to prepare. I don't want my parents out in a crowd fighting for food and needs. I told them to prepare for the holiday season too and went and got their needs taken care of. That's common sense. You want to go out and fight a crowd for tp, have at it. I believe the Lord gives us discernment and wisdom.

I think the ones who are panicky are the ones that don't pay attention to the news. If they did, they would know there's no need to to stock up on a years worth of supplies. Its insane actually

I have never seen people so crazy over toilet paper!! What are they eating that they need that much tp?! My sister is a vegan and she laughed and said the food they left behind is what she eats. "I'm good" she said. No one was hoarding her brussel sprouts. rofl

Actually, if you put your trust in Jesus, there's nothing in the news that can hurt you.

But you still prepare for your family... Use to be that we grew our own food or ate animals we raised. Now we have to go and get it. Both were preparing. I'm not talking about hoarding now. Just being prepared, nothing wrong with that.

Nope, nothing wrong with that.
We have a large garden here in Florida year round.
We have many fruit trees.
We can a lot of stuff and eat it throughout the year, and for two people, we still spend around $700.00 a month.
I know, that's chicken feed for some, but we eat good healthy food.
We don't worry about anything.
It doesn't get us anywhere to worry.

I love FL !! Have visited several times and it's just beautiful. I think we did much better when we grew our own food and raised our own. I think the more we have to depend on the gov't the worse it is. Growing gardens, canning, quilting have been lost to the next generations. I would love to learn how to do that. My grandmothers died young so I didn't learn any of these things. I did manage to make some apple butter a couple years ago. I was pretty proud of myself. lol

Good for you.
It's never too late to learn.
My wife was born and raised on a farm in Italy.
I have the best of everything here.
As you say, the new generation could care less.
No grand daughters are interested in learning anything.

Oh, that's so sad. I'd love to learn. I got a new sewing machine I'm trying to figure out. I wish I had someone to teach me. I guess I can learn online but a lot more fun to have someone teach you in a hands on way. I love to bake and cook but there is so much more I know I could learn. I got a late start in life but I sure do try to learn as much as I can. I was in my 40s when I married, for the first time. I wish my grandmothers could be here today and visit my home and teach me the things they knew. Sadly I lost them to cancer when I was in my teens.

Lol, come over to my house.
My wife was a seamstress.
She even made wedding gowns from scratch.

She sounds very talented. I'm sure I could learn a lot from her.

They keep telling us there is a shortage coming. I haven't seen it yet locally but somewhere along the line people are gonna realize the holidays are upon us and they are out of luck. I just sense that we are in for some hard times ahead in America, like hasn't been seen in years.

I've never considered myself a prepper but I went out and got all the dry goods for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I also got all the baking goods last night. Then hubby and I bought a freezer. I'm not panicked, I just the Lord telling us to prepare. I did the same for my parents. So is anyone else feeling the same way? We see the ships in the harbor and no movement. I think the holiday season is going to get bad quickly. I don't want to be out there fighting for TP with a mob of crazy people. But then, I always like to be prepared, I hate sitting and worrying and doing nothing. I figure if I prepare I can help someone else that needs it. Anyone else making plans or you don't think this is serious enough to prepare?
They are waiting for January 2022 for all prices to increase. There is hints of that now, but the full scale deliberations will begin in the new year. It’s been a long time coming, governments have just been holding the tide back. But, it’s not a time to stock up, but rather to trust the LORD even more than we have in the past. For the last several years our Father has been telling me and those around us to seek the kingdom of God now, and not seek how to survive. God has been incredible. I have never seen Him work so fast when a need arose, He would meet it every time.

For example, I was selling off a house that we didn’t need and it was becoming a burden. I asked Him to take care of it ASAP. The real estate agent came in, looked at the house and he said, “I grew up around here and I always loved this house, I will buy it right now”. THAT FLOORED ME. I was flabbergasted. I asked for $65,000, he offered $75,000, I ended up with $77,000. That was just two weeks ago and I am still reeling over how fast the LORD wanted us to be free from unnecessary things.

These are the days to trust Him in all things. We have been doing things our way for so long, now it’s time to ask and receive, seek and find, knock and doors open.

You should have asked for a $100,000
