Actually churches were fined in 1918 as well and churches were defiant in 1918 as well.
Without some social cohesion... extreme individualism will only lead to the deterioration of that society as being presently evidenced .....history repeats and repeats.

The virus is real but definitely not the hysteria of the media. Probably not on Pandemic proportions if numbers have been inflated or falsified. I agree the media is the virus. Many Drs have spoken out against the hysteria and get blocked on social media or ignored by the news.

Good. Churches should follow God rather than man. Yep history repeats. We fought a civil war to eradicate slavery as the law of the land. Two polarized sides fought to defend or defeat a moral evil. God judged us and even though a extremely large sum of Americans died, God showed mercy and honored Abraham Lincoln's prayer.

Now millions of unborn children die at our countries hands. Only a matter of time before God judges such evil.

The hysteria is in the media. We are all cool here where I live but I live in a conservative state. Many places around the country are really having a hard time.

I do not find them funny.

I live outside of TO... Quebec is having a terrible time... I have family in Montreal who works in a hospital and the inconsiderate people are affecting the health care of those who are considerate of others.

Yes we are, it isn't so well. G-d doesn't bring upon such problems unless it is necessary to wake us up. So it is a sign from G-d on what we need to do. One of the consequences is "isolation", therefore when we are together, we probably were not doing so well or we were wasting time. It also effects the windpipes so clearly we have not been using our speech well. The 10 plagues on Egypt make no sense. Why 10? Why not 1? Why not just redeem Israel? Each one has profound wisdom to teach us and to help us correct our ways...so correcting our ways will fix COVID, masks....yes only in the physical world...but can a mask out run the Almighty G-d? We thought the same with bricks too!

I never said that at all. If the government says to put a mask on, put one on, it's not hard unless you have a specific reason. My point is, not to overthink and emphasize on the "act" for acts are just fruits of the heart. Our goal as Christians is to focus on the soul, we have plenty of people focused on masks, etc. Let them do that. focus on how we can help people change their ways. Focusing on the physical world too much only hits dead ends.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, there are too many people on this message board that think a mask is huge infringement on their personal liberty .. as though personal liberty...sigh.

When we are bored and serve no deep purpose, we tend to use our creative powers for meaningless discussions and fights. Hence all the "isms", "ologies" & "groups". When we are married, in a believing community, with kids etc, that takes a full time commitment, let alone the power to grow and learn from it. Today, that is very much destroyed :( We must pray to have it back and work on ourselves to see how much growth and energy comes from this. :)

the gov. of california told his state residents to " wear a mask , even when eating, only take it down to take a bite of food"

now, what if that got mandated. would that be an infringement on personal liberty???

Like I posted early above. The bible tells us that G-d ordains and puts in charge the leaders. Ex: Pharoah. Yes you are right in a secular world, there would be a call on "personal liberty being taken away". If we only focus there, we will never solve anything in heaven. The bigger question is, why did the "Governer of Governers" allow this to happy? Therefore the best call of action if you want you "G-d ordained liberty" is to repent from what you are doing with your mouth (i.e. over eating, cursing, evil speech, slander, etc). Exodus would be a great book to read at the moment. Why when the plagues came...why did G-d protect Israel then? Why not when the Babylonians came? Why not now? Why isn't there are great miracle over us Christians where not 1 Christian has Corona? Also read Psalms 91, 10,000 people at you right side could all be cursed...but you nothing will touch.

So we could debate on "physical liberty" given by humanity all day long...or ask bigger questions to the Chief upstairs who permits these things to happen.

Isaiah 9:12 "But the people has not returned to the One (G-d) Who smites them, they do not seek H-Shem, Master of Legions"
