If this decision stands, I, as a Southern Baptist Christian, will no longer be able to be employed in any government job, serve in the US Armed Forces, teach in public school, and a whole list of other jobs, including self employment, because I do not accept the homosexual relationship as acceptable. Since nearly half of the jobs in the US are to some extent supported by the Government, I lose the ability to compete for nearly half the jobs in my career field.
Finally, it makes it impossible for me to meet the new standards for candidacy to elected office.
Don't give up hope in our democratic republic form of government. Support candidates who are most likely to increase in numbers of agreement, couple with a moral President (unlike the present one), pushing through Constitutional Amendments the states would gladly support. It would require but a relatively small change in elected officials to enact legislation that limits the power of the Administration, the USSC and lower courts that refuse to simply uphold existing law. "bench legislation" could easily be eradicated, at least by passing retroactive term limits on all judges.
Meanwhile, I worked decades for federal government, developing ways to shift into private business supplying enhanced versions of government services. I had to wait 5 years before enacting some of my most lucrative plans since I got the experience on their payroll. Just becoming a consultant to the feds and private clients in one tiny specialty quadrupled my federal income the first year. Along the way I never faced having to compromise my own positions over immorality. I learned not to hire too many people, choosing tasks that could be done usually by myself, sub-contracting help from time to time.
Be wise about all this. Many government employees are not opposed to morality, which I wore to uphold along with existing law. As an officer of the U.S. I was held to a far more intense scrutiny than most, never threatened for my career. As long as I supported the Constitution and existing laws, my agencies always stood by me regardless of what some lawbreakers tried to curse me with.
The people most likely to suffer persecution are like the cupcake shops, private entrepreneurs who take a stand against immorality while keeping their doors open to the public. They have constitutional rights too, but the court of "popular opinion" lately trumps their rights out of fear of the very vocal tiny minority of perverts on borrowed time.
What's needed is for the majority of respectable Americans to speak loudly through voting and holding elected official's feet to the fire, then supporting them when they go to battle. If we remain silent, then the vocal few will rule just like a crowned king or any other of the dozens of ***cracy types of children of the Devil with a tiny police force carrying out tyranny.
